Scale is lying to me?

OK, so I've been really encouraged by the scale, it's been dropping like crazy! I tend to wear pretty loose and flow-ey clothes, so I don't tend to know how my body has been changing, but with all the weight loss I thought I could pull out a pair of 'couldn't quite fit' jeans from last month...

7 lbs later, (I think 6 or 7 lbs - figured it up for the October losses thread then promptly forgot) I should be able to fit into them, right? NO! Still Can't Quite Fit. NO CHANGE!!

The pants don't lie.. *sniff*

The pants don't typically lie, but they only talk to you about the waist, hips, thighs, etc. You may have lost weight in you arms, shoulders, chest, face, etc.. The areas the pants can't speak for.

Chuckle, the first twenty five pounds I lost - and I did lose inches too - my clothing size remained 14 - 16. Then suddenly I was in 12's. A month, and slightly less than 10 pounds later, the 12's were falling off and 10's were comfortable. And so on down to 6's.

The theory that seems most plausible is: you are losing visceral fat. The nasty fat that is cuddled up all around your organs - squeezing them and endangering your health. Once a certain amount of visceral fat is gone, and your innards are much happier and not squished, THEN the fat-burning turns to legs and hips and sit-upons. Don't panic. This is a normal progression that happens to many of us. Before you know it, you will be buying new bras.

I did not "lose" weight. I evicted it. It is gone and it ain't coming back!

JUDDD cares about calories. JUDDD does not care what you eat. Your body probably does.

@Carly Hmm... I haven't seen a difference anywhere else - maybe the 7 lbs was so evenly distributed all over me that it was like a tiny thin layer of chocolate. (Can you tell I'm hungry!? Ready to end my DD now, lol)
Conclusion: It stinks, lol - I want to be in smaller clothes, not look smaller on the scale! #neversatisfied

@Nancy - thanks, I'll hold on to the hope!! Maybe it's that water-whoosh thing, too.. Sometimes you lose inches but no weight, and sometimes weight and no inches, and then whoosh on the scale or whoosh in your sizes? Has to do with whether water takes the place of fat in the cells or not if I recall from my old LC days..

That's so encouraging gotsom. Although I am not following JUDD (I reserve the right in the future ), I imagine weight loss works pretty much the same way for us all. I would absolutely loveeee to get down to 128. That would be about perfect for me. I've been feeling the little beads of fat under my skin recently and thought it was something horrible. Then I read something on this site that actually talked about it and found out it was fat breaking up! I'm waiting on it to leave now.

Oh, it gets completely .

Last July I lost only in my legs. I would weigh, measure, and lay down on the bathroom floor to laugh.

Inches do whoosh, yes. Oh golly, you have me laughing so hard I am crying. DH works out of state most of the time. One Friday he came home and yelled, "What happened to the girls?????" I lost a cup size in four days.

What is happening right now is either deep inside or spread thinly all over. Really don't worry - it is going to get stranger (but oh so much better)

Yes, I whooshed right out of 12s super fast with virtually no scale loss. I lost like the first 20 lbs without needing any new clothes, but those may have been a little snug at first and I probably wore them a bit after I should have retired them. I have found the smaller I get the less I have to lose to slip into the next size

I remember being a little frustrated when my waist measurements had not gown down 3 weeks in. Maybe it was just due to TOTM but I made myself stop measuring and didn't do it until my first month completed on JUDDD. So after my first month I measured again and am glad to say every thing has gotten smaller, including my stubborn waist! but only by a small amount but still good and definitely adds up. I have lost nearly 11 lb so far and cannot notice any difference other than in my bra (sad face because I always lose it there first)
