JUDDD type eating has it's own science and it is so current that it is possible that LC gurus don't have it in their sites....maybe never will since they ARE LC gurus.

I am mushier since I went through menopause but it is because I lost the hormones that kept my skin more taught AND I was followin EFGT for years when that happened.

I have good muscle tone and do some crunches each morning. Only problem is, I have to feel through the little menopot...but those abs are rock hard.

Of course if you have lost, there will be skin that has not caught up and may not depending on age and how much it has stretched to accommodate fat.

I guess the bottom line lies in what you believe. I happen to believe JUDDD science....and it is science as you can see on our sticky.

Sometimes one can combine various science but for some it just causes angst and yo yo ing/jumping between plans.

I'm hoping I can hang out here, since I'm in a maintenance "break." Is that ok?

A quick note - I'm heading to a work-study group and then onto a concert tonight. I will say I'm a bit discouraged. I did 3 good DD this week and my weight has not budged. In fact, it's up. I did have 2 nights this week where I did not sleep well, so I resorted to meds the last 2 nights. But that certain number on the scale sure is a familiar one. I think I'm stuck. The last few days I have noticed my pants getting loose. I hope it's a good sign, maybe an impending *whoosh* to come? I'm just super nervous going into the Thanksgiving weekend holiday, NOT that I intend to over-indulge, but that I will be eating foods that are more carbo-licious while trying to stay as wheat-free as possible for my joints. I may need to lower my JUDDD numbers. Coming from hcg-land where I'm supposed to stay 2+ my last weight, and I am up 3 from that. I was hoping to get back down in a few good rotations. Possibly the stress of finishing school and not sleeping well has got to me more than I would like to think.

Adding to the discussion of smooshy skin - I probably have a good 5 pounds skin alone on my lower body that is mushy from losing 100. My legs are pretty wiggly. My upper body has handled it much better, thin around the ribs etc, have arms that aren't bad but that one spot that likes to flap a minute after you finish clapping. At least I have a waist but I still have an hourglass figure that is more like 90 minutes

Kimberly this is magic, seems as if you are really on top of this. Only a few months ago you were feeling low and dissatisfied with yourself.

The only thing I have against it is that we have to share you with shopping!

smooshy fat cells

Over the years, I read again and again, that each of our bodies has a genetically controlled shape (duh) that is disrupted - sometimes massively - during weight loss. Once weight loss stops and maintenance begins, each body begins restructuring itself back to that genetic shape. It can take a year, but gradually bits and pieces inflate and deflate until a smaller version of self is achieved.

I wonder if that is part of what is happening? Sneaky little nomadic fat cells are holding water, releasing water as they gradually settle down to their once and future shape?

After I called goal, I continued to measure. And I am seeing some shifting going on.

I did not "lose" weight. I evicted it. It is gone and it ain't coming back!

JUDDD cares about calories. JUDDD does not care what you eat. Your body probably does.

What if we never had a "shape"...lol

Just kidding...I've been heavy all my life since pre-teen years...so I'm thinking my body will forgot somewhat...but I will say, it is starting to shape up pretty good. I have major hip/tummy issues, but hopefully soon that will be removed surgically...time & money

Hi ladies,

I have a question. Are you freezing on both UDs and DDs now that you are at goal? I'm kinda freezing all the time and I'm hoping to lose another 20lbs. If I remember back to my thin and underweight days I was really cold all the time. Please tell me this gets better. I really want to lose a bit more, but brrrrr.

Hi Carly~

Unfortunately, I am cold all the time!!! I have been cold ever since I first lost weight after WLS at 411 lbs...7 years ago. Even during the summer, I get chilled easily. Cold air blowing on me is the worst...I cannot stand the car vent or ceiling fan blowing directly on me when it's 110 degrees out here in TX

Hoo boy, do I need a dd tomorrow! I actually did great with Thanksgiving. Enjoyed all the special foods, but didn't stuff myself. And was well in normal range for after an UD.

But then we had an anniversary dinner last night, and a birthday celebration today, and I feel like a stuffed sausage.

Looking forward to a week of good rotations with clean foods.

I am so excited that this will be the first New Year in forever that I will NOT have losing weight as a resolution!

Carly, yes

I spent the summer carrying a jacket everywhere I went. I could handle the heat, but the minute I entered an air-conditioned building the shivers began. These days the jacket has become much heavier and better insulated than ever I used to wear.

I suspect thee and me and others like us bring it on ourselves by eating in the Fast 5 format. Last week, while recovering from surgery I ate more frequently throughout the day. And the shivers reduced.

I guess the way to ensure we never over-heat again is to LC food in JUDDD calories in the Fast 5 format!

Fortunately, all of my 'looks' are based on layers and blazers. I guess I have found Nirvana!

Nancy- you may be correct about eating in Fast 5 style. It's UD and I just ate a small breakfast, which I NEVER do 'cause I could not go on freezing. We'll see if it helps. (We need a shivery smiley!)

That will be an interesting experiment. I think it took me a few days to notice my freezing level was less cold.

Unfortunately, I am pretty much addicted to eating very little during the day - I adore having DD energy every day. Chuckle, and then again, I live in a much warmer place than you do - that probably helps some.

I don't seem to get the shivers, never have really. I do get cold easily but I always have. I suffer from Reynauds Syndrome so me fingers freeze and go numb sometimes. But that is quite different to your shivers.

It is just wonderful, knowingly the New Year won't start with another diet. I love this side of JUDDD. I haven't even weighed myself for a few days, I can honestly say it didn't cross my mind this morning.

No Kidding!

Actually, Carly, now that I think about it, I think the shivers have been decreasing since I began maintenance. I have a vague memory of a few days I did not wear a sweater or jacket...and I was following the Fast 5 format. They came back after the surgery but that can be related to healing and my entire body being discombobulated.

Maybe there is hope.

I used to get cold on DDs only when my weight first started dropping, then after a while I was cold on both days, but it stopped soon after I reached maintenance. I also ate Fast 5 style on both days and still do for the most part (especially every DD), but somehow the shivers have stopped. The only time I get really cold now is if I do a really low cal DD once in a while.

Wow, Nancy, you are definitely demonstrating proof of that JUDDD magic right there!

I am not cold and I am very cold natured. Anyway, I am maintaining just fine even through Thanksgiving and having pecan pie for breakfast and so on. Love JUDDD. I had a baked potato last night just for funsies. I did not finish my oat bran I had for breakfast since I just was not hungry so who knows. Maybe it has taken a year for all of my metabolism issues to straighten out. I did not even have a desire to eat too much yesterday or to have things I should probably not have. Like COOKIES.
