cici I hear you and could have written the exact same thing.

I went off the deep end all weekend Dang that fruit of the vine I love so much Actually was doing fairly well but after an awesome DD the scale rewarded me with a gain of 3.5 pounds and that just set me off. I really need to stay off of them but I just find it too hard most of the time.

Anyway.... good DD so far today and will continue to do JUDDD but I too wonder if it is the right plan for me

Hi Everyone,

I haven't been back since my first post a few days ago..I injured my sacroiliac & have been in miserable pain! I'm hoping it goes away soon.

Anyway, just wanted to be accountable. Still having trouble with my DDs - yesterday I was doing really well then ate about 300 more calories. Not a total blow out but I'm eating more at maintenance calories - which is why I'm not losing! But I feel like I am learning along the way:

I was trying to "white knuckle it" on my DDs, then would get a headache & be so hungry that I ate way too much. I usually have some coffee in the morning, and get hungry around 1 - 2 pm, so now I eat something at that time.

I was tending to eat real "diet" type foods, but if I have coffee in the morning, 1-2 hard boiled eggs in the afternoon I can still have a satisfying meal with say grilled chicken & some veggies. I feel more satisfied with that.

Jello is my friend on a DD! I can even have a squirt of sugar free whipped cream!

I am not giving up! I love reading about everyone's successes, it really helps.

Have a good one....

Sounds like you're learning what works for you MellaBella. That's the most important thing about JUDDD, and once you have that mastered, it's all gravy after then. Well, at least on UDs! DDs I guess it's all broth and veggies!

So sorry you've been hurting, Mella! OUCH! Sounds awful. You've done well to even stick with this at all during pain like that. Thanks for letting us know how you're doing, and keep at it - it really will work once your body gets used to it all.

Cici, you summed it up here:
I started out not able to get up to UD calories because I came from 1200-1400 daily calories. Now I can overdo either if I eat processed food. Am considering going back to GF and dairy free which simply eliminates the things that send me over the edge except for holiday family dinners.
I hope you soon find what works for you. I know you've tried so hard. I really feel for you and I'd hate you to give up now.

MellaBella. Ouch! I hope you soon feel much better.

Thanks everyone! You are all so nice!

Feeling "munchie" but not hungry. I had some homemade beef/barley/mushroom soup earlier & I'm still full. Figures, today is an up day!

Hello JUDDD buds!

I need your help. This weekend I will be going to this restaurant with some friends and I have no idea what to order/the calories of the items. We will be going out dancing afterwards so I can't eat anything that will make me bloat either.

This is the menu: Dinner | Paese Ristorante

any help on the calorie count of the items would be veryyyyyy much appreciated

Since we don't know what you like and the menu is quite extensive it would make more sense for you to decide what you like and enter it into a calorie counter item by item. Then you can adjust how much of it you eat based on your results. I checked my counter and it does not have this particular restaurant.

Now, I am thinking this has to be an UD. My strategy would be. Enter the dish by name and see if it comes up. If it does, you're golden. If not, enter the makeup of the dish and then enter the sides then add about 1000 calories for hidden fat/sugar/thickening agents. Savor the first few bites as if it was a love affair and box the rest for "the freezer".

Good luck.

Of course there is another strategy. That would be to ignore the calories and dance like a mad woman. LOL

October was rough off and on. I know now that I can't eat anything I want on UDs and feel well. However, Pandora's box was opened and am not doing a very good job of shutting it. Was so hoping to go through the holidays without the usual food hangups. Have any of you longtimers gone through this and found a way back to sane rotations. I feel like I can't even think of another DD right now.
Juddd has been the best way of eating for me. I have had the hardest time losing any other way. I give up after losing a lb. or two, I have alot of binge tendencies. I've been losing slowly, because I often get to 9pm and instead of celebrating my success I just start to eat because I'm hungry.

Although I've been hanging on to my losses because there are some days I can hold on.

Don't know if this helped, I hope so. Maybe using Juddd to maintain thru the holidays as opposed to worrying about losing could be an option. That way we can inch our way down..

Kristen..I feel the same~ There is not ever a day in my history of days that I couldn't reach (or exceeded) my UD calories. If only I could figure that out. LOL!

Hey Angie. A strategy I have used before is to call ahead and see if they have a listing of nutrition for each item on the menu. Many times they will, they just don't "advertise" it. They might be able to fax or email it to you so you can make your choices.

The other alternative, and a darn good one, is Cici's suggestion to have a blast and dance your patootie off!

This is me dancing....yes, that's about how good I am at it! Have fun!

Cici, I'm so sorry you're going through this--I can relate. I started in August....was soooo good and was making progress through September. October, for some reason, went right down the tubes, and I started thinking "Maybe this isn't the right plan for me". I stopped exercising, and started lacking on my food tracking every day.....not sure why!

I have my suspicions that my issue has a lot to do with "competition" and receiving a reward for results. I lost the most weight back in January when I was in a contest....and every now and then I get a jolt of motivation when I feel like I'm competing with a friend or something like that....If I can just create some sort of "prize" that keeps that motivation going--pretending isn't working too well for me nowadays.

I hope you figure out what's going on and you get around to finding the magic and making it stick. This really is a good plan, and gives us sooooo much freedom--to an extent.

Starting today, I've resolved to saying on every DD...."You can have THAT tomorrow!". It worked yesterday, so I'll try it again tomorrow.
For every 15 pounds lost I get a new charm for my Pandora bracelet. That is my reward. Beside the reward of being thinner and healthier. Maybe you could join a challenge or something. I think LCF has challenges on other boards. Hang in. You can make it work if you find an internal or external motivator.

Today at 12:45pm I have an appointment with my spine surgeon. I wish there was a smiley for apprehensive, fear...
Just making this appointment is HUGE for me. I'm still unwilling to consider more spine surgery, but I'll go and let him see why the pain has gotten worse.

I keep saying it's just an appointment- nothing more- repeat...

Carly. It must be scary, but if the pain is that much worse, it's worth hearing what he has to say. I hope you don't need more surgery, but if you do, and it will make you feel better, maybe it's worth considering.

You're right, this is only an appointment. You can consider what he recommends, and make your own decision. It's all in your hands.

Hi everyone! I'm brand new to JUDD (like as of an hour ago ) and I can't wait to meet others who are following this plan!

A bit about me-I'm a 34 yr old sahm to three kids (4, 6, 8), live in MI and love to read and blog

I've been doing lc/ls for almost a month now and felt like I needed to do something on top of that since I'm already seeing my weight loss slow down. I started out at 170.5lbs, am currently at 163.5lbs and my goal is to be down to 135-140ish by next summer. We have a sail boat and spend most of the summer out on Lake Michigan-I want to rock a two piece swim suit next summer

Carly, as someone whose had spine surgery, I know how scarey it is to think you may need more surgery! But, really the choice is up to you. If you are like me, it depends on how much your life is impacted by the pain. Even tho the thought of surgery was scary for me, the expected pain relief made having it was a no-brainer. I was a lucky one & the surgery worked beautifully! That was 15 years ago & only in the past year have I had pain again. It's not bad, so I'm just watching & waiting. I'll be thinking of you & hope to hear from you after your appointment!

mom23kids!! This WOE is the best I've found. I hope you like it here!
