Oh, I hate those F's. My scale was a bit irritable this morning, too. Luckily with JUDDD a few rotations repair F's and no summer school

Cici, you're doing so great with your whole mindset! Go girl!

My scale evidently needs some remedial training (notice how I'm grading IT and not ME!). I've been stuck at the same basic weight for two weeks now, and I've been so good, darnit! I wanted a whoosh before Thanksgiving.

I'm thinking you're due for a nice woosh as well. I know a lot of us (myself included) have had those annoying days/weeks stuck at a certain weight before the woosh. Calling that woosh fairy for you!

I am counting it with yesterday's calories as that was an UD and I was a little short. I did two UDs in a row to get switched around for Thanksgiving. It was fun to make that choice without agonizing about it.
I did 2 UDs this weekend to change my rotation too. Isn't that an amazing feeling, to not agonize over making such a decision?! I could have done a MD sometime between now and Thanksgiving, but I decided, what the heck, might as well just have a good weekend and go from there. So far, the scale has been kind. We'll see in the next day or two if it bites me in the butt. No worries though, I feel great in my body and don't really care how slow the process becomes from here.

Hey guys, just checking in as I had a visit with the eye doctor today...
Good visit with the eye doc and I go back next week for another checkup, and hopefully with the retinal surgeon then as well...as a second opinion that surgery is not needed...whew!

What's up with doctors anyway? Doc asked me if I was experiencing any difficulty with the meds, and I said, "I think not...but what should I be looking for? He replied, "well, as long as you're not having any, then you shouldn't be looking for anything." Which made me think of one that I had wanted to ask about...tingling in the fingertips. And, guess what? That's one of the side effects of the drugs...plus, the lethargy, loss of balance, sleepiness, all things I've been experiencing...I know. All the drugs came with the info sheets, but who reads them when you're having trouble seeing anyway? Oh well, just another whine and since it's a DD, no cheese for the whine.

I'm just overjoyed we're not talking surgery and hope the retinal surgeon agrees with the diagnosis. Also, doc won't even discuss the possibility of surgery on the other eye..."lets see how it goes with this one." Although I don't know if I'd agree to going through this sh*t again...possible or not.

So it's kick back the rest of the day, nap in the chair until bedtime...I really need to start moving, tho', and forgot to ask if it was okay if I started going to the gym...I'll make a point of it next week. I went to Curves for four years, stopped only because I started having knee problems. I think if I'm really careful, I'll be able to do the routine and I want to try. I've gotta start something, I can feel the joints creaking up.

Sound as if you won't need mor surgery on the ey, what a relief for you.

If you get as stiff as I used to Mary, I can really recommend Glucosamine. I started taking 3 1,500mg pills a day 4 months ago and I can't believe the difference it has made.

Glucosamine has been a part of my regimen for a long time...in fact ever since I first started having joint problems...that's part of why I think I can do the exercises again. I got the rooster comb shots back in the summer and the doc had me on physical therapy for a while. Did a bit of water therapy, too, until that ran out for the year, will probably start again in January, but my knees and back are feeling much better. (I give credit to the JUDDD magic) And I know they'll feel even better if I move. I have a bunch of exercises the therapist gave me and I'm not even doing them...I'm a baaaaaad girl...to paraphrase Red Skelton.

Sorry, Mary, preaching to the converted, lol. Clearly you know a lot more than me about these issues. I am still in heaven because of the change. I suspect JUDDD has something to do with my improvement too.

Just wanted you all to know I am hanging out in the NK area lately. Still coming over to read what is going on here but not saying much since I am not currently JUDDDing. Wishing you all the best. I may be back once I am adjusted to LC.

Glad to hear from you Cici! I hope the NK is working for you and feeling good in your body. I'll look forward to hearing more about how it's working for you - I'm fascinated by the concept and believe it has merit. Don't be a stranger! We'll miss you and hope to have you back sometime!

I've watched it 4 or 5 times since I found it last night
(via George Takei on Facebook!)
and I keep crying.

I haven't felt like myself in years...I used to dance all the time...studied flamenco & bellydance...
It's not just the weight & self-consciousness about how I look that's held me back, but I went through a terrible depression that left me with no desire to dance. I still don't quite have that joy back, but I've started wanting to get stronger & more agile. This video...maybe it will help me get going!

Here's an odd thing...slightly related...I've been knitting for 5 or more hours almost every day, and sitting cross-legged on the floor to do it (tiny house, no comfy chairs except the computer chair). A couple of my friends keep telling me I look like I've lost weight (I'm actually up a few pounds, esp since Thanksgiving!!!). But maybe my posture is changing. I have less back pain, my hips feel more flexible...my stride seems longer, and walking around stores is easier. Not that it was difficult before--I'm not that out of shape!--but it just seems a bit more fun, KWIM?

Anyway, even this slight improvement in my flexibility makes me want to make more progress.

It sounds like that elusive ray of light called hope.

A lot of what you're talking about sounds very close to home for me, as well. Somewhere along the line, I became disconnected from so many things I used to enjoy. I could feel myself shutting down different aspects of who I used to be...partly as punishment, I'm sure, partly due to sheer inability.

I'm only beginning to feel the twinges of new mental and physical energy coming back. Makes me hungrier for more.

Thank you for sharing that PJ. It was uplifting.

I hope it inspires all of us to make the most of ourselves, no matter how hard it may seem.

Although I have missed you here I am thrilled that your are doing your knitting and changing your life while enjoying it.

It’s about time for me to check in and get caught up.

About two weeks ago I was in here telling that I was feeling drained and fatigued from the routine, mostly of simply tracking I think. So, I took a break from JUDDD since then, totally walked away from counting/tracking. It was my first serious deviation since starting JUDDD on April 1st.

It was pretty scary simply stopping rotations. I was worried that I would have a rapid weight gain, but I had to do something that could get me back into the swing of things mentally and emotionally.

I definitely ate more, after all it was happening around Thanksgiving! My metabolism seemed to rev up while doing so -- that honestly surprised me! At the risk of way too much information, I was going to the bathroom way more often. I didn’t weigh during the “break” either – another very dangerous way to go until yesterday. It was right in the middle of the day. I would normally weigh a pound more at mid-day, however I expected to weigh a lot more than that from eating more. Instead, it was only 1.3 pounds higher than my low weight. Maybe it will catch up with me in a few days and move up a bit more – I hope not. No matter what the scale says though, I am back to JUDDDing starting today as a DD. I feel refreshed and renewed and happy to be jumping back in.

I’m coming back at revised, lower numbers and hoping for some of that JUDDD magic to start soon.

Hugs to all!
Connie

Connie.

That is so heartening, you took your much needed break, enjoyed your Thanksgiving and gained.... well what amounts to nothing.

I am finding so many people posting similar stories and I really think there must be something in the Sirtuin. I have often wondered if this could really work but how else can we explain the tiny gains so many JUDDDers go through even when they take a complete break from rotations and counting.

I will be watching for the next drop on your magic digital number!

Some time back, maybe even a month or 2 one of the JUDD Buds was going to Africa and her dh was going too. To help in any way they could, what has happened to them and are they back in the USA?
