I'm so happy that some things are trying to return to normal for some of our JUDDD BUDDD's. Although I know that some will never return to normal. I still pray daily for them.

Wow that was a nasty storm, but we survived !! No serious damage, but very serious damage all around my area. Lost electricity for 6 days. It was so nice to be abe to take a hot shower this evening. The night of the storm we all stayed in one room that was the furthest of any trees. At times I would jump from the gust of winds, it was very scary. Cell phone service is still sporactic. Long gas lines. Many towns still without power and it was take time before things are normal again. Election day will be different this year. 1 in 4 voting machines were damaged. Some counties are allowing voters to fax in their votes. There will be internet voting and paper ballots. All which will have to be counted my hand.
Thank you all for your kind words for my beloved cat Sparx. |

TJ, glad things are getting back to normal for you at last. Don't worry at all about your eating after all the stress and real problems you have been through. You will be fine.
It still looks awful for so many and the rehousing issue is simply immense. Blessings to all who are still struggling. |

Hi there!
Been thinking about and missing you all. Hope everyone is okay. ![]() We're still without power but had no damage to the house or car. (Last year a tornado came through our area and 3 trees fell on my house/driveway/car...smashed the rear window & trunk but was still driveable; and on the house, only the eaves of the roof got damaged, amazingly!) I have thermometers in the freezer & fridge, and they've been at 30-45 degrees, so most of our food is still safe. It's been 40-45 degrees in the house, so I prepared some pots of soup, meatballs etc and just re-boil them every day, then they stay cold overnight. Our sweet neighbors , who have a whole-house generator, let us have a shelf in their "extra" freezer. They've also let us take showers and get drinking water...I had stored a lot, but this has allowed me to do normal cooking (we have a Coleman campstove) and wash dishes. There's a little stream conveniently located across the street, where I can get water to flush the potty.I haven't even seen much news...I know it's bad and there were several deaths...but in my neighborhood we're just trying to get by and stay warm. Although we often lose power in this lake community when nobody else does, the outage was so widespread that gas stations & grocery stores were closed for several days, which has made things more inconvenient. Schools were closed for the entire week; some just got power back yesterday. However, we're well inland and did not see anything near the devastation around the Jersey Shore or the NY boroughs. I'm at the library & my time on the computer is up, but hope to be able to check in again soon. ![]()

So glad you are safe, though pretty cold I expect. You are a survivor that is for sure. I love your neighbours!

Thanks Dawn- doesn't seem to be quick or uneventful, there is already several inches of snow on the ground here in Southern Westchester with 30 mile an-hour winds
![]() I am praying for those in the Rock Aways and Jersy Shore. How is DH doing? |

We got quite a bit of snow. At least 5 inches. My co- worker who is 45 minutes north got about 10 inches. We kept power and of course had work today. They cleared the roads by us well, but I know there were quite a lot of traffic accidents during the morning rush. How did everyone else in the tri- state area do?
