My thoughts and prayers are with everyone in the path of this storm--praying that all will be safe and damage minimal. We were living in
Western Mass last year when that massive snowstorm clobbered New England. I'd never experienced such damage, nor the loss of electricity and heat for so long. I hope that everyone is as prepared as they can be.

I am south of you (Philly) and the rain and winds are picking up now. We expect the worst late Monday into Tuesday. I am taking advantage of power now as it looks like we won't have it for a couple of days with these winds. So getting some work done, hot showers, treadmill time, cooking some hot foods, charging electronics, heating the house, etc... now or well, not never, but it might be a while. Stay safe all!

I'm up in Orange County, NY. We are presently under a flash flood warning - it just began to rain. They've downsized the total amount for us 1 - 3" (from 12"). We are getting a pretty good blow - but it's still early. Supposed to be really bad tonight.

Its windy but not raining here... rained like mental the last 3 days. They're expecting flooding from the leaves clogging the storm drains etc, old trees losing branches bringing down lines.

I just went out and bought some cans of soup and fruit, and some extra tuna.

Ok, I need to cheer up, b/c I'm feeling really gloomy. So here's my attempt:

Soren, please don't get too stressed. It still isn't too bad here in southern NY. I know it will be worse later, but we are all prepared and now is the time to replace fear with faith.

TJ- I suspect tomorrow will be a second day off for me too. I hope we still have power cause I'll stay home and cook up a storm and enjoy tomorrow's UD! If it is an UD with no power it will be junk like cheese in a can and wheat thins or PB2 and Ritz. I also have some "designer flavor" pudding cups!

yup - ditto again but I think the worst is ahead of us. Tonight and tomorrow will tell the real story and then if power goes out it may be so widespread that I am expecting it to take days to come back on.

The wind is "wuthering" around the house and picking up speed but we still have power (Hartford area). We are not getting much rain and hubby has decreed that our town will keep power.

The stock market will be closed again tomorrow and the town where our office is always seems to lose power, so maybe I'll be off again tomorrow - on an UD!

the news just came on early here for special reports. they said here the same with the worst coming tonight after 8pm. the winds and rain picking up here because of a stronger band coming through now. 2 more hours of work then i will go home and hope we keep power!

There was a major crane collapse in the city and the storm is starting to pick up, but yes the worst is ahead. The news said 23,000 in my county have lost power already. Keeping fingers crossed!

I just walked the dogs, b/c as you all said, it's starting to get worse. The news said we were getting our first band... I can tell you the wind was much different than when I went out at 1pm.

I can't imagine being on the coast. Wow.

Lots of howling winds and wind swept rain here. Thankful I still have electricity. Worst is yet to come. For me the worst came this morning when I had to rush my cat Sparx to the vet, I had to have him put down - poor guy was real sick 12 years old . Be safe and remember that material things can be replaced your life can't.
