correcting a binge

Hi all, I am new to JUDDD (on 20 days so far) and today was supposed to be a DD but I binged big time. What is the appropriate way to correct this? Do I do a DD tomorrow or more of a MD and then jump back into my rotation? Thanks for any input and advice!

When you say that you binged, do you mean that it became an up day? Or just a very bad down day?

it's really up to you. You can have a controlled UD tomorrow, to keep your rotation the way it was (if you needed something to fall on a UD over the weekend, say).

Or you can do a DD tomorrow, UD the next day, and continue with your rotation that way.

Just don't think of the DD as any kind of "punishment" b/c it's really really not. It's just how this thing works.

So if you feel you were sufficiently, um, nutrified (?) (filled up with good stuff) today, then make tomorrow a DD.

And if possible, or even if it winds up being an UD tomorrow-- plan for it. Think about where you're going, what you'll be doing, what you'll have access to, when you need your calories, and see if that helps you stick to it, regarless of UD or DD.

nothing is ever "blown" on JUDDD. Take a breath, move on to the next day, and enjoy where you are at, b/c JUDDD is working.

(do I sound like a yoga instructor? I sort of felt yoga-y when I typed that...)

thanks for the input, ladies! I appreciate it!

I think I will do an UD tomorrow, it's my 9th wedding anniversary and although we don't have plans to go out, we probably will on Saturday so keeping my rotation would be a good idea.

JUDDD forgives. One UUAD does not a disaster make.

One thing I do consider very important, especially during the early days of JUDDDing: look over what happened and see if you can identify why it happened.

If some food triggered the binge, it might be a good idea to avoid that food for a few weeks or months.

If stress was the trigger, did eating help? If it did you might consider keeping low cal foods on hand to gobble the next time stress hits. If food did not help, I recommend coming up with a mantra (I use "Chocolate never really solved anything bad, save it for good times").

Don't worry. JUDDD forgives.

I did not "lose" weight. I evicted it. It is gone and it ain't coming back!

JUDDD cares about calories. JUDDD does not care what you eat. Your body probably does.

What is UUAD? Sorry, haven't caught on to all of the acronyms yet!

Stress was definitely the trigger, the kids were crazy yesterday!!!! LOL

You have a plan to correct things, you will be just FINE! I have had a handful of DD's that turned into bad UD's! Move forward!

You'll do fine Potaty, enjoy a more controlled UD with you husband and back to your DD the next day.

You will slow down your loss a little, but that is all, and you will find JUDDD is very forgiving.

That is one lovely baby you have there!
