WHY oh WHYY

Why does eating make me hungry!?!?
I'm fine all morning, then I think - well, I'm feeling a little peckish, so I'll have a small snack before lunch.. And then after I eat, I'm suddenly RAVENOUS!!

Make it go away!!!!

LCI, I know just what you mean. It's why I try to go until dinner before I eat much of anything. Luckly for me, my last round of LC somehow seems to have tamed my lifelong after dinner snacking habit (how that happened I honestly don't know!) If I can satisfy myself with a decent dinner, I'm able to make it through to next UD morning.

Yeah - that sounds like a good way to go.. But my blood sugar gets too low if I go for TOO long without eating, and I get dizzy and stuff.
I need to refigure my calories, I can't seem to remember what I can have on a DD anymore - I've been eating way below my calorie allotment on DD, but today I think I may want to eat 'em all.

I know how you feel, lowcarbinca!
This is why DDs are so much easier for me than UDs. I'm fine all day but the second I eat anything at all, I'm ready to eat the house and even that won't satisfy me =/

just chiming in for support. I find the same thing-- I can go till about 3pm on just a bullet proof tea (with caffeine and 2 tsp of fat) but if I eat FOOD, then I want more FOOD.

I do notice a difference with my hormone fluctuations-- I'd suggest maybe looking at your cycle and seeing where you are in it, maybe it's PMS or something that is causing a bit more of the "hungries".

Remember, go to the JUDDD calculator and see what your other WL numbers are, other than 20%... I think even up to 35-40% is still WL mode. So, you can have another 100 or even more calories (ymmv, so look at your calculator numbers and experiment) and still lose weight (or at the very least, not gain just b/c of one day).

again sweetie, you'll make it through today!
S.

Thanks!! I drank a huge ton of water, and finally conquered the hungry monster.. and now it's lunchtime! ha! You're right, it is TOM -time, so maybe I'm just reacting to that.. Went back and did my calculator and found that with my current weight, I'm at 350 calories for today. And I've already eaten 78 of 'em! Sigh.. gotta put off eating as long as I can, so I'll be able to eat more later...

But I think Soren's point is that you can eat more if it is a really tough DD. WLM is quite a wide span of numbers, and the occasional higher day, especially when TOM is about, may slow down you loss a little. But that is better than throwing in the towel.

It sounds as if you beat the monster wisely. Well done LCInca.

Sometimes, when I get hungry like that, the scale registers a bit of loss the next day or so. Hope you're feeling better

TOM hunger is a special event for sure.

I belong to the eat-in-the-morning-hungry-all-day club. On hungry DDs, I chomp celery, parsley, whatever veggies happen to be lying around into a very, very low cal smoothie. It seems to satisfy without waking the solid food beast.

I am in that club as well. Eating solid food seems to wake up my appetite. On DDs, I usually have nothing but coffee or tea and tons of water all day and then eat my first and only meal at dinner, along with a snack sometimes before bed. For those times when I really couldn't make it until then and would start feeling lightheaded or dizzy, I find something really salty like strong broth (with additional sea salt added) or V8 or a sour dill pickle and it usually does the trick. I have low blood pressure though, and feel it more on DDs when I'm not eating, so an extra hit of salt/potassium helps a lot.

OH! I totally forgot - I have a huge pot of yummy homemade broth in the fridge! I'm making a poached egg. (Poaching an egg right in the broth makes the egg even more yummy, and without butter, that's important for my poor little poached egg.)

I find the 150 cal atkins shake satisfys till dinner with its 9 g of fat. The protein ones that are low fat just don't do it, I find myself VERY hungry! Soup is good and low for lunch, but again, the low fat wakes the hunger!

Food wakes up my hungry monster. As long as I don't eat I wont get hungry. On DD I have a small bedtime snack around 9:30pm. I have regretted everytime I have eaten earlier unless it is just celery or cucumber- I know Cindy
