Oh, my - I just ate....

1295 (or more) calories for lunch!

Was really hungry and grabbed some food from a great little Mexican place around the corner. Scarfed it down, THEN looked up the nutrition info.

Actually now feel a little

On the plus side-at least it is an Up Day, so I had the calories to spare....that only leaves me (after a 290 calorie breakfast) 260 calories for the entire rest of the day, though.

Why do I keep having to learn this lesson over and over and over?? READ THE NUTRITION INFO FIRST!

I haven't been counting on UDs and I need to start. My chips and dip addiction is getting out of control I'm sure!! I think I'm keeping it under 2000, but who knows?

I quit counting on UD, and eat to satisfaction/hunger scale. When I eat out, I will go back and figure out on ****** and I am usually over and above my 1700. Hasn't caused any problems, because it is only once per week. Most days my numbers fall very close or below 1700 when I eat to comfort or satiety.

Well, it is almost 8:00 here and I still am not hungry for dinner, so that is a good thing. I will probably have some cereal or something before bed, so tomorrow's DD isn't too bad, but I think I will survive this little faux pas.

You just accidentally shifted your UD calories from dinner to lunch. That is frequently how it works on UD. A mis-step that makes the dance exciting, but changes the music not.

Marianne it is so good to read posts like this. They remind us that we can 'play' with JUDDD and still do fine.

I am glad you decided to eat in the evening though, don't want you to have too starving a DD.

I've stopped counting on UDs, too. I am now able to eat normally and feel full. Today I had 1/2 a whole wheat bagel with cream cheese for breakfast, a slice of pizza for lunch, a cup of coffee with half and half at 3pm and will probably have 1/2 a chicken ceasar salad for dinner. I just get full much quicker and I have the awareness to stop eating when I am no longer hungry. JUDDD is just amazing!!!!!!!!!

Marianne ... this has happened to me, and I tell myself the same thing (check BEFORE eating)! Restaurant food can rack up some crazy calories, right?

Lately, though, since I've been counting my up days more consistently, I've noticed that as far as I can tell, I'm pretty much eating exactly what I would have had if I hadn't counted... so I'm wondering if I need to? I'll do it for the month anyway and see.
