Anyone lower cholesterol with JUDDD?

My hubby's cholesterol is high but he is not really ready to consider JUDDD because he is close to his ideal weight. I will need further information and "evidence" that JUDDD works to lower cholesterol even if weight is not an issue. We have already talked about the anti-inflammatory response a bit and how IF/JUDDD helps arthritis, asthma, etc and he seems intrigued.

Have any of you known someone who is doing JUDDD and already very close to ideal weight? I know for a fact my hubby will not do strictly LC, so I am looking for those who lowered their cholesterol with traditional JUDDD.

I have found some other threads to become a bit more educated in the world of total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, triglycerides, ratios etc.

Thanks in advance for all the great info I know you knowledgeable ladies will offer.

I can't speak to Juddd, but it seems very problematic for someone who doesn't want to lose weight, don't you think?

I believe he will see a marked decrease in triglycerides even if he keeps his carbs under 150 a day. no need to go very low. does he take fish oil pills? insoluble fiber, such as oat bran and glucomannan can be helpful too.

good luck

He does take fish oil.

As for his weight, he really is within 5 pounds of his ideal weight, so what I mean is he won't do JUDDD just to lose 5 pounds. However, he might try JUDDD if others see normalization of their cholesterol values as a benefit of doing JUDDD. Maybe I am not making myself clear...

No help here, as my cholesterol has always been good. I'm interested to see what others have to say though.

There is no need to lose weight on JUDDD, you would simply choose the higher Maintenance numbers on Dr J's site.

I'll copy this to the NSV thread and see what come up. okay?

My latest numbers are weird. But I am having some health issues that are causing that.

If you run an internet search on 'calorie restriction cholesterol' or 'intermittent fasting cholesterol' you will see a lot of articles that imply many people will find JUDDD is good for their cholesterol numbers.

Thanks Cindy, great idea!

Nancy, I considered an internet search but I was thinking of seeing what personal stories might be out there, thus the question to our lovely JUDDD forum.

If you search through older threads, you will find the occasional cholesterol discussion. But not many. I used to wonder why this issue does not pop up more frequently in the JUDDD sub-forum ... then I forgot to wonder.

I read one study on this that noted that men and wemen respond differently to this WOE. I am sorry I didn't book mark the article and can't rember which way it went
but there was a sex difference. I believe in men there chlosterol did not go lower but there triglecerides did go lower and then in wemen there chlosterol went lower but
there triglecerides didn't go lower. It may have been the other way around.
