October Daily Chat Thread

This thread is a place to share whatever you want to share--weight stuff, daily stuff, random thoughts in your head, anything goes. That stuff you'd like to say, but really don't think it warrants a thread of it's own.

Hi, everyone! First day of a new month, first day of a new week! Hope everyone's October is starting out well.

The wording above to start the thread was scandalously plagiarized from Tina (mykid'steacher) who wrote it for the April Daily Chat thread.

This month marks a change for me to maintenance and I'm looking forward to it, considering the right calorie counts to hold at my goal weight.

The story here is rain, rain with dropping temperatures. Wish there was more chance to get outside work done, but that may not be happening for a while now.

I'm doing a tv bit next week, for which a wardrobe person will call me today and ask for all my measurements. This used to be extremely stressful. Not so much any more.
Thank you JUDDD.
Happy day, everybody.

This is day two of my reboot after a good DD yesterday. Felt AWFUL this morning, but getting better as I eat and hydrate

It's pouring rain today here too!
I only had about an hour of sleep last night.
One eight hour shift later this afternoon, I don't know if I'm going to make it out to step aerobics or not. I may stay in and rest, and enjoy Zumba tomorrow. We shall see. I have MANY hours of work and other activities before step tonight at 7pm, so maybe I can catch a nap.

I want October to be great!

really struggling.
BUT I am NOT giving up.
I have to learn that life is always going to happen. (my fridge stopped fridging and I live on a VERY tight budget) Life events are NOT an excuse to binge.

I battle bingeing too, it's not easy!
We just have to realize that tomorrow is another day when we get out of control and know that we can do this!!

It's weird. DD I struggle not to binge...
UDs I struggle not to overeat, because the calories make me feel guilt. I can't tell you the last time I ate 2000, but I did today and I'm ok. I know it evens out with great DDs so I shouldn't worry.

Thanks for the start-off and wishing everyone has a great month.

I'm hoping some of the notes previously posted in this forum are correct as I'm having the hungriest DD since I started this woe in June...for some reason my tummy is growling and I've not heard that in months. Saturday I fasted for 23 hours before eating one of the lowest-calorie days ever for me. I had a good UD yesterday, not high but right at my goal, so it wasn't an out-of-control day. But today...wow! I had a Dukan pancake and turkey bacon after only 17 hours, then had the munchies all day...right now I'm sitting at 200 calories with only a couple more for later...guess it's the shirataki noodles for supper; good thing I have them in the house.

I've heard people say that a whoosh seems to follow the "hungry days" so I sure hope that's the truth 'cause I could certainly stand one now...although having one at the start of the month may not be a good thing for the monthly goal...shoot! a whoosh is a whoosh anytime of the month, right?

Any suggestions for a starvin' JUDDDer? Drinking lots of water and it's too dang hot to take a walk...still over 110 degrees outside.

Um yeah, me too. Blew my DD yesterday, but didn't binge, and still can't seem to get a grip. I'm calling today an up day and striving to keep it under control. You know I did this gig for almost a year, lost 40lbs. Strayed for various reasons including a whole 'nother family living with me for 9 months. It seemed impossible. Now I am struggling to get it together. I know it works, I know I have rocked it in the past and I can't figure out why I'm having so much trouble now. I gained back 20lbs over several months (and quit smoking) then managed to lose 3 and gain it back. Did I mention, I HATE my scale. I'm looking for perspective because I don't seem to have any.....

Well, no whoosh, but back at low weight...so I guess I'm seeing the JUDDD magic...Today's an UD and I'm having lunch with some of my former co-workers will have a small pizza, I think; or maybe the jambalaya...already checked their menu online so not going into it blind....

Looking forward to my dd tomorrow, now I never ever thought Id be saying things like that!!

Hello October!!

This month has started off great for me! Even tho I try to live in the day, I am so excited to see where I'll be the end of this month! I was down 2.8 more pounds this morning from yesterday!!
So, if this is the way JUDDD works for me, I'm ALL in!

As I was reading some posts elsewhere on JUDDD boards this morning I discovered why I have cold spells from time to time! I'm burning fat! Who'da thought it?! I've spent the past 10 years going thru "Minnie Pause" and sweating is what I do best! My doctor has subtracted/rearranged some of my medications & that has helped. But, not nearly as much as this WOE! My DH is happy 'cause for the past week, my body thermostat is working properly.

I find the DD's are easier in some respects than UD's. I guess because on DD's I don't have to worry as much about what I eat. But, UD's I do because I don't want to go over my calories. I'm used to counting carbs, not calories. I'm hoping it gets easier with time?

I want to thank everyone for sharing their thoughts & ideas here. As well as sharing their days.

Shari

Great one-day loss, Shari!

Wow, jacci, best wishes to you and son! We try to tell them but sometimes they have to learn for themselves. Hope your dd is a good one.

Yay for being at low weight, Mary!

Blonde with a Rose, our homes are our sanctuaries so even though it's wonderful we can offer hospitality and welcome, it can be SO stressful, too. Opening my home for family eldercare in a crisis took my health/fitness plans and put them on the back burner for sure. I've only just gotten back to where I was. You've done beautifully in the past, you just need to get back in the rhythm.

@iamMeekness, you're doing so well.

Patkid, I love your "no matter what" attitude!

Tough day.
I think I got under 500, but I'm concerned about any added calories from things like butter that kept my eggs from sticking this morning at Waffles house - I had egg whites with veggies and a slice of toast. Tonight we're having shirataki noodles and veggies. According to my count, I'm still under 500. But I have a serious sweet tooth!

Trying my best.
I feel gassy. I know, TMI! but it's weird since I've not eaten much, and I walked a TON shopping for like 6 hours...

10 days is a long time, I am sure the whoosh is coming... Hang in there.

I think we need to report you to the society for the protection of fish Calichris, Definitely the IF.

Strange how many of us find the DDs easier. The control and the simplicity of them.

Has anyone tried eating only fruit on a DD? I'm sure the calories might be a problem, but been wondering about trying it just to see how the body feels...Today's my DD and already starting to feel hungry, which is rather strange as I've not been hungry usually. A couple of DD's ago I was able to fast most of the day without any hunger pangs at all...maybe it's because I'm just hanging out at the house with no plans for the day. Yep, that must be it as I usually try to stay busy. oh well, hope you are all having a great day.

So funny you mention the fruit. I was just thinking of trying that myself. So here is under 500 calories of a few common things.

Blackberries - Raw, 1 cup 62 14 1 2
Oranges - Raw, navels, 1 fruit (2-7/8" dia) 69 18 0 1
Lemon juice - Raw, 1 lemon yields 12 4 0 0
Apples - Raw, with skin, 1 large (3-1/4" dia) (approx 2 per lb) 110 29 0 1
Fresh - Cantalope - Whole - 0.5 cantalope 114 17 1 4
Grapefruit - Raw, pink and red, all areas, 1 fruit (3-3/4" dia) 103 26 0 2

Total cal 470, carb108, fat2, protein10
