I am so sorry Carly, sometimes life sucks. People can be so mean and thoughtless. Your situation is sometimes really tough I am sure. If only people could open their hearts and accept that each of us finds our own path to happiness.

I am glad that you are not throwing away a good DD though. Well done.

Oh, Carly. How heartbreaking. Life is tough enough without rejection, especially from family. Hope they will come around and grow to love you. What an awful situation for DW too, since she loves you all and must be torn.

Thanks ladies
Not sure why some times it hurts deep down to the core like this. I really sould be used to it by now
I think I feel very nervous about what is ocurring right now and to be shut out of it a the very last moment is also hurtful.
We say that every day on JUDDD is a new day and really all of life is like that.
I have faith that it will not hurt this much tomorrow.

Thank you Chris. I do feel that you all love me as I feel the same for all of you. So strange how we can care so much for people we never "met". I'm trying not to focus on it, as the outcome will be what ever it is meant to be. I don't want to set myself up to be continuously hurt either, but now I think I will go for a brisk walk before it gets too dark.

Carly,
Good on you for looking it in the face and being willing to feel it rather than eating it.
Man, I feel like we're all trying to find our way towards love, but sometimes that shows up looking so unkind.
Sending lots of love, stamina, and good perspective your way.

Nancy - I'm so sorry life is throwing you so many challenges all at once! I hope the new health challenges can be quickly resolved and get you back flat and sassy!

Carly - I know that kind of family rejection must really hurt. I don't know why people are sometimes so hurtful and insensitive. Insecurity is my go-to explanation. I sometimes think all the world's evils stem from some kind of insecurity. Strong people don't act like that. We do love you here!

I was supposed to go along, but her daughter made it clear that I was not welcome. I guess the good thing is it's a DD here and I'm not going to blow it over this. Food is not going to change the out come or how I feel. I will continue to cry and get it out and hopefully tomorrow it won't seem so bad.

Sorry to be such a downer. I appreciate that you all just read this.
People suck. I know that's probably not the best thing to say, or maybe it's too pat of an answer, but I swear, sometimes I just throw my hands up in the air and declare, "People suck!" It really helps me to take the burden off myself. Then I'm not feeling like, "What did I do to make them act so hurtful?" It becomes their problem. And it really is, because we know you are worthy of better treatment.

Jacci, you and your family have a special place in my thoughts and prayers. It sounds like you are working your way through a series of body-blows. And, oh yes, I do understand how much harder it is to watch, and be unable to fix, illness in the ones we love.

Carly

I hope, for your DW's sake and your own, you can find a way to see this as their problem, not yours. You are generous and loving and ready to be a family. They are not there yet.

Nothing but patience and time can hope to bring them to the place you already are.

Vent all you need to. I, we, care.

I have a question for all you wonderful ladies

Instead of doing a MD ...
Has anyone ever tried having 2 DD in a row? What will happen?

I have a big party on Saturday and was thinking of doing Thursday/Friday both DD .

Please let me know your opinions/if you have tried this and results

wow, I am so mad at myself for not keeping my promise to post on this thread daily.
I have missed opportunities to support folks I have come to care for deeply.
Please know that I am uploading lots of hugs and support and positive energy.
For those that are open to it: I am praying really hard.

Carly, one special word to you as I am very close to someone w/ similar hurts:
We will learn to feel compassion for our enemies when we learn what makes them cry. That has really helped me at times when I get hurt to the core. Each of us is dragging along piles and piles of baggage and in order to be a compassionate person, I think we need to take a peek inside another's luggage. Be kind to yourself and know you are loved.

Warm hugs, all around.
Pat

One of the things I love about you, Nancy, is how you continue to be kind and encouraging and supportive all the while you have struggles, too.
I think that is a common thread I find here among JBuddds. What loving, selfless, kind, tolerant, compassionate people.
Blessings.

My understanding is that it will put your body into FULL starvation mode? I am no expert of course but that was what I gathered from reading about JUDDD.

I'm sure someone else can explain it a bit better.

I know this has been tried in the past, but what I gathered was that it doesn't really increase weight loss, so there's no real point in it. May as well make it DD/MD/UD and not suffer if it's not going to pay any dividends.

There is also the risk of stalling weight loss because your body sees two very low calorie days in a row and thinks, "Oh no, we'd better start holding on to all our reserves."

Hi everyone! I'm another newbie, and am in the middle of my 3rd DD. I overdid my calories yesterday by maybe 250, and today I've done very well, but my concern is that I am not "P'in away the fat" today like I did my first 2 DDs. I'm thinking that I lost extra water early on, and this is no cause for concern. Am I thinking correctly? Thanks JBs!!

Just popping in, trying to catch up a bit... to everyone who's going through a tough time...

I've said it before, but this time I think I really mean it...
I'm trying to spend less time on the computer. For reasons I don't even remember, on Thursday I dug out a box full of sewing stuff, found my knitting needles and a gorgeous ball of ivory chenille yarn, and made myself a "neck warmer" (kind of like a turtleneck without the rest of the shirt ). My **18 year old son** watched me with great curiosity, and then asked me to teach him to knit!!! He must have spent 20-30 hours knitting (on a loom as well as needles) these last few days!!! This is time he didn't spend playing video games. He has 3 new hats, and is working on a 4th, as well as a backpack and a belt.

I'm using lots of exclamation points because I'm so proud of him! He's being very patient and putting a lot more effort into this than he usually does on anything...he can be quick to give up when things become frustrating. I'm also--and I hope this doesn't sound sexist--proud that he's confident enough in himself to do something that seems to be mostly a "girl thing". I mean, I've been crocheting and knitting for about 30 years, and I don't think I've EVER seen a man knitting?!! In fact, until a few years ago when knitting became "cool", I was often teased by other women for doing something so "old-fashioned".

And, I'm really getting into it myself. I've been out of a job for quite a while, and suffered so much at my last job from foot, back, and kidney pain that I am reluctant to take "just any old job" unless I can sit down! And there just aren't many of those jobs around where I live. So I'm going to try to knit a bunch of things to sell...it's a good time of year for scarves & hats!

WTG PJ's son! That's awesome! My aunt knits in her "spare" time, and spins her own angora. It's very relaxing for her and brings in a little extra income, which is always nice!

PJ!

I, like you have been attempting to stay off of the computer more, and I've been partially successful. I was spending way too much time online and now that I'm doing other things, I can come back here and not feel as though I've ignored other activities in my life.

It's been refreshing to say the least, so that when I do get online, it's quality time! I do have those times, however, when I get to be a postin fool!

I will say I do miss my JUDDD buds and think of you all very often.

Love the fact that your son is man enough to knit....isn't there a saying out there that goes 'when your man is man enough to wear pink'.....something to that effect.........my man wears pink on the golf course, so I know I'm OK.

The fact that your son was off the video games for awhile says a whole lot.
You have every reason to be proud!!!!!

Oh very cool, Jenny! I have a 23 year old son and I crochet, and I fully understand how amazing that was for your son to take an interest! Yay! Praying that you find the perfect job for you!

I'm disabled and have been blessed with an at-home Internet job, so they can be found!

Knitting is so funn!! -- I started a knitting club at my University a few years back. Its great for weight loss too -- Keeps your hands busy!

So guess what I did today ...I bought the Alternate day diet book on Kobo! Can't wait to read it, even though I know all the information already! I bet it will answer many of the questions that I still have !

Good for you PJ, and kudos to your son. I hear a lot of men are knitting nowadays. Seems its therapeutic! I wish I knew how. My sweet grandma tried to teach me when I was 11 or 12, and I got very impatient and gave up. My other grandma taught me to crochet and for some reason, I could handle that. Who knows why???

PJ, so good to hear from you! Good luck with your knitting sales, wouldn't it be nice if you could make a job of it? Or at least, some nice part time cash. Interesting about your son, sounds like he's a natural
