Jacci, all my best to you and yours. My DH had thyroid cancer 15 or so years ago and has had no issues since. If that's what is going on, it's one of the most treatable cancers.

Jacci, I am so sorry for the troubles in your family! This is the time when families pull together to get thru hardship. I know from experience, it isn't easy; but, you can be there for each other. Or come here & pour your heart out to us. Cancer is all over my family. Yet my husbands family seems immune. Strange. But, I'm grateful.

Hang in there. I will keep you & your husband in my prayers. Prayers for strength & peace.

I have looked up thyroid cancer and like the one I had it seems to be not a bad one to get if you see what I mean. Hopefully it will all be fine though, thanks for all your kind thoughts.x

I have not been around a lot lately - life keeps happening all over the place. But please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers all the time.

Sigh, in the midst of selling one house near Atlanta, while preparing another near Asheville for sale (don't ask - let's just say DH gets crazy when he takes statins and his doctor slipped one in under the radar. ... I should say his 'former' doctor.) while finding, renting and moving into a house close to my elderly, physically/mentally challenged parents, while dealing with DH preparing to retire, right out of nowhere I developed all kinds of nasty food reactions and - after being gone a looong time - carb cravings and acid reflux have popped out of nowhere, a physical found protein in my urine, and a large, hernia-like lipoma suddenly blossomed in my abdomen.

Next week I start meeting a bunch of new medical specialists.

You know what has me most upset? The lipoma bulges. My whole lower belly is swollen. All that feldergarb going on and I can handle it. But I despair because my nice, flat tummy is no longer flat!

I had a great UD yesterday and am now embarking on a good DD. I have to change my rotations this week so tomorrow will be a MD.

Nancy, that is a *lot* going on. Come and vent anytime. Will they remove the lipoma? It sounds like a very inconvenient time to have a procedure done, but on the other hand I know you want that flat belly you worked so hard for back!

(p.s. thanks for the thoughts on my photo ... you're right, compared to my start I've come a long way. Just had an impatient moment there. also, note to self, don't stand next to the size 2 people in the photo next time

Hi Ladies,

Just dropping in to say that I've had a bit of an upsetting afternoon. I'm quite sad and actually really had my feelings hurt. I know I'm powerless... at least I'm pretty sure I am. I feel that I'm hated by my DW's family and this is just hard to accept at times. DW is participating in something that I think will be difficult for her. I was supposed to go along, but her daughter made it clear that I was not welcome. I guess the good thing is it's a DD here and I'm not going to blow it over this. Food is not going to change the out come or how I feel. I will continue to cry and get it out and hopefully tomorrow it won't seem so bad.

Sorry to be such a downer. I appreciate that you all just read this.

Carly, families are complex at best! I've not had to deal with stepchildren; but, my DH has with my first 3 children. Fortunately, they all like him! I feel like(without knowing for sure!) that this situation has more to do with them than you? Don't blow your day because they have to be rude!!

Your body probably does. Combining JUDDD rotations with PHD foods got me to goal with greatly improved health (and a drive to boogie-boogie-boogie all night long).
