We have similar stats too, I'm about an inch taller than you but otherwise our start weights and goals are similar.
Hi TB, nice to meet you I have done very well on JUDDD with the condition. Eating lower fat than I was on low carb seems to help balance my hormones a great deal, though I'm still testing that out.

Yes, I did and still do take Met. I didn't adjust the dose. I take 500 mg. 3x day.

The only time I ever had to adjust the dose was years ago when I was first on it and it reduced my appetite so much I lost too much weight and was heading into health issues because of it. My doctor then told me to take it only 2x day, but once things regulated and my body adjusted to the med, I went back to 3x day and never had the problem again.

Good luck with JUDDD and let me know how you're doing and if you have anymore questions.

I'm not counting vegetables (except starches like corn and potatoes), most fruits, my powdered green drink mixed with some apple juice, small amount of coconut oil, etc. I'm not even counting red wine (shhhh!!) I've cut back on the wine though.

I've had some trouble getting enough calories on my UD's, especially since I tend to eat lower fat now for my gallbladder and hormones. And the fruit and vegs help keep me fuller now that I eat more than I used to. But I'm mostly getting there calorie-wise or close enough.
KUTGW, everyone!

Oh, My Gosh.. I haven't been here enough over quite awhile apparently. I didn't know that you were NOT here until I just read here ^ ^ ^ that you just started back on JUDDD.

Well, glad we're both back, and congrats on that fast start back. Were you just doing general low carb then? Are you all right?

I had my gallbladder out years ago, and while I do eat plenty of fat, I can tell when I overdo it because I get that real gakky feeling in my stomach and my throat begins to feel like it's fighting nausea. Ick! So a high fat diet is definitely not for me. Luckily, I love my carbs.

Continued success, Sophie/Cat!

Put this in the "random thought" category:
Every time I think of spaghetti squash, I think of fixing it like a big plate of spaghetti, with sauce & cheese & olive oil & garlic & stuff.

Yesterday, it suddenly occurred to me that I could use it to make chicken noodle soup!
Or any kind of noodley soup, for that matter! I'm eating some spaghetti-squash-egg-drop-chicken-broth right now!

I don't buy spag squash very often because it tends to be expensive--$1.49/lb. I can make zucchini or cabbage noodles for 79 cents/lb or less! But last week I decided to treat myself and buy a big squash that ended up costing $7. However, it has lasted several meals and I still have 4 cups left. I'm going to freeze some 1-cup portions.

Hey PJ, great idea! I don't get spaghetti squash very often, and when I do I just usually eat it with butter, salt and pepper. I'm going to try this on a DD soon. Need to get to Sprouts for some good produce and hopefully they'll be on sale!

That is a really good idea PJ. I never thought of using it for noodles in soup. Thanks for sharing that Hungry Girl has a recipe using broccoli slaw for spaghetti. I am going to start my own garden and I was really looking at growing spaghetti squash. Thank you so much. I am feeling really good today, I have been eating raw veggies all day and some diet mt. dew, I can't give that up. Do you guys count the calories for vegetables. I was thinking I could leave vegetables free Yesterday was my birthday and I was going to stay away from the pizza, cake and icecream but I had a piece of pizza, a small piece of cake, a bit of icecream and had no trouble with swelling or anything. I have to stay on track and not go to one extreme or the other. I tend to do that but calories matter and a treat on my birthday won't hurt I guess I have been on stressful diets for so long it is hard for me to realize this is a life not a diet anymore I am glad I can come here Love to all

I count everything, but I know some don't count veggies and do well. I would probably still count the higher calorie or starchy veggies like potatoes, some types of squash, that sort of thing.

Thanks guys you are so fabulous. That really made my day, thank you I came back here because I had a thought to put down and WOW what a great greeting Thanks so much. Thank you Kierasmom for the advice about the veggies, I really appreciate it. I am not sure what I was going to say I think I was going to put in a thought about how good I am feeling eating raw veggies all day and how free JUDDD is. You can expieriment with your diet to see how it makes you feel and no worries. Now the best thing about JUDDD is being able to come here and talk to you good people Love to all

My appointment went well. She ran a bunch of labs and even suggested adding the T3 medication that I've been asking for from my GP. Just have to wait for the labs to come back in a week or two, and I should be able to get the new meds and get back to normal!

Hi, Dawn. After being away from the forum here for too much, I've missed what is going on, but it sounds like you've been after some medical care that you felt you needed and have found a doctor who agrees with you and will treat. Yay!

Pat, thanks! I was diagnosed with Thyroid disease in March but have had a heck of time getting optimized on my meds. This new doctor may be the answer to my prayers!

Aw, thanks Leona! I only have time because I'm able to log on at work. Shhh, don't tell my boss! We're in a slow time right now, but it will pick back up again soon.

Thanks everyone. I sure do hope to quit my bellyachin' soon.

Not had the best couple of days....will be doing normal rotations from tomorrow. I was diagnosed with a bone cancer earlier this year (all sorted for now) and my husband has now had to have a biopsy on a growth on his thyroid. His mother has just got over treatment for bladder cancer...sorry to be so miserable but this year has been the worst one ever....he gets results in the next week or 2, please keep your fingers crossed for him.I feel worse than I did when it was me going through tests and stuff.
