Blabbermouth!!!

I love to knit. I can crochet but I don't like it. I find knitting to be very relaxing. I think I made it through the stress of college by knitting. I always had a sweater in progress.
Want to learn to knit socks now though. Way to go PJ on teaching son to knit. I think it is great. |

Dawn, all the best to your sweetheart. How can he not do beautifully with all of us beaming him such love?
Adi, PJ, the knitting thing cracks me up. I learned to knit during the first year of chiropractic college. I was slow at it, but not slow to become addicted. I knit five sweaters during the first term and had to give it up cold turkey or leave school, I figured. I still miss it. ![]() |

Jacci, I'm so sorry your husband's situation is looking like that. You're doing great to stay on your rotations and be planning a getaway. I sure hope it all turns out to be treatable with minimal discomfort for him.

Morning everyone and Happy Halloween! I look forward to getting to know all of you. I just officially started JUDDD yesterday with a successful DD although I have been doing it "unofficially" since 10/17 or so.
My weight on Monday was 148.3 and today 146.7. I'm not sure how often or when to weigh in. I do need accountablility but don't want to get discouraged! Any suggestions? I love seeing so many committed JUDDDers here. I know I can lose weight on LC but I also know I can't maintain it. I have high hopes here! Dawn and Jacci: I am keeping your husbands in my thoughts and prayers that all will come out well! Adi and PJ... you are "crafty" it seems. I can hardly tie a bow right so knitting is out of the question!

Re: weighing; it's such a personal preference. When I started, I weighed once a week, and only after a DD. Once I started trusting the process and KNEW that JUDDD was going to continue working for me (about 6 weeks in), I started weighing daily. The ups and downs don't really bother me now, though they would have in the beginning. If you take a look at the daily weigh-in threads, you'll see that there's a whole lot of "bouncing" going on. It's just the way JUDDD works. I recommend weighing first thing in the morning and, as Pat says, as empty as you can be. For me, that means after I use the restroom, I get completely nekkid, even removing my jewelry and glasses, so I know it's just "me" being weighed. I do it before I've had any water or coffee. I'm probably too obsessive about it, but that's how I do it.

Yep, that's exactly how I weigh in too! Not even a sip of water before!
I think I'll try the daily weigh in thing for a bit and see. DS bought us a Withings scale back in August and I love it, but it is very unforgiving because it records your weight every time you step on the scale. With my old scale I could step on it two or three times to make sure the number was right. Not with this one! I can be obsessive! ![]() |

DH and I had our first date on Halloween, 13 years ago. I just realized I'm almost the same size now that I was then (I *think* I was around 175 then), and this is the first time in 13 years I've been this small.
Happy Halloween! ![]() |

Adi! My Mom could tie the most beautiful bow. She used to make all of the dresses for me and my sisters and they ALL had bows! She tried to teach me but I'm left handed and she was right handed so it never worked! Thanks for the welcome! 38 pounds is awesome! And really they say slow is better... easier to maintain and keep off! For me, I have to rush though everything! Not only can I be obsessive, I can be an extremist too! Just NOT hungry today. I had a few pieces of chopped up chicken and a couple of small slices of cheese but don't feel like I should eat if I am not hungry! Dinner tonight is at the Irish Pub (every Wednesday) so I'll have some choices tonight! |

I can't tie a bow either.
My mother made all our clothes when I was small and during the Second world war she 'turned' my father's suits and made clothes out of parachute silk. I sewed for my daughters too, but not like she did. She made such beautiful smocked dresses and ballet clothes. Lost arts really. Anyway, just wanted to add, Sooz, try to eat up on your UDs or you may find you are starving on your DD. And happy 'dateversary' Dawn |

You are so right Cindy that it is a lost art! I didn't make my kids clothes but I did make my own as a teenager. Wish I still had some of them to show! Do you still have some of your kids clothes that you made?
The eating thing is a transition that is a bit difficult but, I will definitely try and follow your advice. I suppose I should TRUST the process and know that it works. After I see a few UD meals for you successful people I am sure it will get easier! I don't wanna be starving tomorrow! |

No Sooz, sadly I haven't anything from that time.
I always made my own clothes then too and I sewed costumes for the theatre. I only sew for the home now, curtains (drapes) and bedspreads and the like. My DDs look at the photos from those days and complain because they were dressed the same. What they don't realise is that their clothes were usually made from leftover cuts from my own clothes. ![]() ![]() SO we were all dressed the same. ![]() You'll soon learn to love your Up Days. |

, Sooz. Take a deep breath and relax into the rotations. Let your body enjoy the benefits of enough food to meet its needs and heal. This isn't a diet and starving yourself will only backfire down the road.Dawn, yet another occasion for ![]() ![]() . Jacci, Not sure I'm up to date on your DH but it sounds like you don't have a diagnosis yet. Praying for good news or quick intervention and recovery for your DH. I know it is so tough waiting and wondering what the next news will bring. ![]() After a tough month, this morning's weigh-in rewarded me with my lowest weight so far (previously seen once). So total loss for October 2#. Under the circumstances I am very happy with that.

Dawn - first date weight is wonderful!
![]() Cici - I think you've done great losing 2 pounds for the month. Your body is obviously talking to you lately, and you're doing so good in listening and trying to give it what it needs. Keep going, girl! ![]() |
