one month binge free on JUDDD
![]() this is pretty unheard of... most WoE I last between 3 hrs and 3 weeks before I end up in a jailbreak... I think because every other day I get to eat counted portions of my favourite foods, I can always hold off for a day. I even made it out of Bulk Barn today with only 4 of my dearest treats (vs 10 or 20 bags of different "favourite" candies, salty snacks... even with a tiny scoop, that's a helluva gutful of junk )... I counted out 8 Jelly Babies (Ok I am in Canada, but my parents and grandparents got me hooked on some of this British stuff), and 6 chocolate covered almonds... and half a cup of Bits and Bites. Got a Green and Blacks organic chocolate bar to have a few pieces of next UD. I felt a little tempted once my snack was over to have more, but then I had a drink, and felt just right ![]() This lack of binging is going to be key in my success... I just know it!!! |

Congratulations!! I know what an accomplishment that is being a terrible binger myself.
Just wish I could do the same. Sill have a problem with binging mentality on UD's so will try to remember this thread and your accomplishment tomorrow on my UD. Well done again! |

Very well done - hopefully the first month is the hardest!
I definitely find that having "permission" to eat all but a very few trigger foods on UDs (if I really want them) makes a real difference - I can usually wait until the next UD and may not want the food by that time! Dee |

I'm so happy for you!!!
I wouldn't go so far as to say that I've binged, but I used to have a salty snack, then want something sweet, then want something crunchy, then want some cheese, then some chocolate, then something crunchy/salty again...I wouldn't eat huge amounts, but I just couldn't feel satisfied. About a month ago, I started drinking "alkaline water", and it has helped tremendously with those cravings. I don't know if it would be enough to prevent binges...but just an idea, if anybody who's still bingeing thinks it might be worth looking into. ![]() We started discussing it here: L-Carnitine and other stuff And I had such amazing results with my blood sugar that I started another thread here: "Alkaline water" & I've been getting NORMAL readings!!!

Well done! They say it takes 21-30 days to make/break a habit - you did it!
![]() ![]() I find say NO on my DD has helped me enormously with restraint on my UD's. Way to go! ![]() |

thanks everyone!!!!
![]() and results-wise, I am happy too: 9 lbs and 2 waist-inches evicted! (I consider about 3 lbs of that bloat... but 6 lbs of lard, dieting every other day, I'll take it!... and slower than that is fine too... as long as over months, I get to where I am going) and yes, I think flexing that NO muscle on DDs (big time!) builds some restraint capacity for UDs... and puts 1800 cals in perspective too (as tons vs 600... compared to feeling a bit constrained before on 1800 vs my BFs and son's likely 2500 or more) (and trying to diet on 1300-1500 every day is worse for me psychologically than DD/UD... by far!) onward into month 2! |
