will i still lose weight ?

Hi,

I have done this before with success and now i am back for good : )

Last time i did it i wasn't exercising, but now i am ,normally when i exercise i gain weight (i know its water muscle and stuff but still depressing!) and i don't want to measure, i have 2 children and a baby so i don't have time for measuring, but i am a little scared to start exercising incase it ruins the weight loss i may get from JUDDD.

Hope this makes sense, has anyone exercised and still seen good weight loss on the scales, or i do i need to give in the to tape measure!

Hi, maidofstone. How many pounds do you really think you might be talking about? It probably isn't more that a couple. We gain weight when we BEGIN or when we INCREASE exercise. When our exercise is steady, there isn't much of a change, so if you are already exercising there's no reason to think your weight will increase at all.

I figure it slowed my loss down by a couple pounds in July to increase my exercise. Was it worth a couple pounds on a scale to have better muscle tone and cinch in my midsection? Yes.

It did mean A LOT to me to be able to see that I lost by the tape measure through my midsection during that time. I certainly would suggest a tape measure to you just so you'll know all the info you can.

It just depends on what your goal is. No one except friends here are going to know what number the scale spits out every morning. But if you tone up, that may be what others around you notice.

PS
I just have a retractable tape measure from the cloth store that cost a dollar, and I measure one morning a month, so it's like 10 minutes a month even with record-keeping. I make sure I put the date and my weight on my notes for that month, too, so I don't get mixed up over time.

Thanks everyone,

I had a baby 4 months ago and i put on LOADS! i am currently around 155 lbs and my ideal weight would be 126 lbs. and yes you are right it is when i start exercising that i gain, i suppose the change and everything, and its stupid because i kinda know the answer to my own question , it just always deflates me when i see it go up.

but i will push through until my body settle down and i have a pair of new jeans that don't fit me yet i will use those for reference : )

Really enjoying my first week back on JUDDD and SO glad i found this site, and everyone seems really nice and supportive x

Glad you found your way over here. I think the jeans are a good way to motivate yourself without looking at numbers if they are close to fitting. If you are a long way from that goal, you may need something to aim for along the way. My first sign was more comfortable waistbands on my current pants.

Do exercise, it will make you feel good and tone up your body.

Try not to get hung up on a slight gain...though the weight gain from exercise is often over estimated.
