11 Weeks on JUDDD - An Update
So here I am 11 weeks into JUDDD. I never expected to be able to stick with it this long either.
I started JUDDD on 6/25 at 330.2 pounds. Month 1 - Lost 13.2 pounds Month 2 - Lost 7.4 pounds Past 3 weeks - Lost 10.8 pounds I'm 1 week away from 3 months on JUDDD. Total loss on JUDDD: 31.4 pounds. I had previously lost 20.8 pounds on low carb, but that took me 3 months. So I'm down a grand total of 50.2 pounds. This morning I weighed in at 299. We'll see what it is tomorrow morning after a down day today. Hope it sticks around. I haven't been in the 200's in MANY years.

Got so excited to see this post from you, Karen. Just knew it was more good news and sure enough, 30+ pounds in 3 months! But wow, you hit the 50 total mark, too! So great. Then I realized you were saying 299, which I know you've been stalking!
My goodness, you must be so proud of your progress toward these landmarks along your way. You have this w.o.e down pat now, for sure. I hope you feel great all day, you deserve it. |

But does anyone feel like I do, that no matter how much I lose, I'm not satisfied? Is that normal??? It's like "great, I've lost 50 pounds, but I need to lose SO much more"? |

I'm from Birmingham. I lived in Huntsville for a few years though as a child because of my Father's work, in fact one of my two brothers was born there.

![]() ![]() ![]() I know what you mean about realizing there's still a long way to go to make it to goal. What helps me when I remember how much more I have to lose is looking at the stats of one of our many JUDDD success stories and thinking how that could be me in six or twelve months *if* I stick with it. Your accomplishment is amazing, and you are *well* on your way. ![]()

Wow, that is fantastic!! Love hearing confirmation that JUDDD is the way to go! It took me 6 months to lose 25 on Atkins, so knowing that you lost MORE than that in half the time gives me hope! Way to go!!

It also helps me to remember this is a WOL, not just a diet with a beginning and an ending. For some reason that soothes me when thinking about a timeline. It's not so big of a rush when I think about it that way.

Karen!Of course you feel that way. And, of course it is perfectly, utterly, completely normal. You are, we all are climbing a mountain. Watch mountain climbers. From the ground, they survey the heights. But once they start climbing, they pay attention to where they are now and where they are going next. They don't worry about the peak anymore, they look for hand-holds, they concentrate on the journey. From time to time, they may think about how high above them the peak still is. Then they remember how amazing it will feel when they are on top. So, they forget about the peak and look for the next hand-hold. When they talk about it later, they share the exhilaration of being on the top. But they also share, with great enthusiasm, each hand-hold, each part of the climb. And, now and again as they climb, they stop to look at the beautiful scenery spread out below and around them. Karen, you have just completed a very perilous part of your climb. Catch your breath. Look around. All of your fellow climbers are waving and cheering because YOU are that beautiful scenery Karen. Looking and feeling better than you have looked and felt in - how long? Wave back. Tell yourself it is alright to throw your head back and howl at the sky because you have climbed this high. Then remind yourself that you are a mountain climber. You will always be. All of us will all always be mountain climbers. The only way anyone can conquer their mountain is by not worrying about how high it is. Time to find the next hand-hold. Time to enjoy the climb.
