How much are you gaining between DD's & UD's?

When I first started I was gaining upward to 4 1/2 pounds between the two days. Now, more recently, I've leveled out to about 1 1/2 pounds.

I only weigh myself on the morning after a down day. I don't want to know if I have gained weight after an up day. That seems counterproductive.

I weigh every day and there's no rhyme or reason to what happens with the scale. I can gain after a DD and lose after an UD. I just like to see the numbers, and the overall trend is downward.

I've seen as much as 5 lbs, but usually it's between 1 and 3. Occasionally there is barely any gain at all. I know a lot of it depends on my sodium intake and other things.

My average bounce is a pound. Less than that and I ate too little on UD and am facing a stall.

Yesterday was an UD and I gained .6 this morning. It can be pretty wild and unpredictable. Like you, in the beginning my bounces were a lot bigger, but they settled down into point somethings for a long time.

Every now and then these days I'll see a 5 pound gain after an UD. It could bee too much salt or lots of high volume veggies and carbs. Sometimes it goes right back down after one DD, sometimes it takes 2.

Can't explain it all the time, but it's interesting for sure!

Mine is normally a 1 to 1.5 gain on UD, UNLESS, I indulge in spirits. Usually, I can count on a 2 lb + gain if I have a margarita or a swirl.

It isn't salt because I have salt free margaritas. It's the tequila.

Scale weight gain from day to day as I track my weight can be up by four pounds. Or down by a pound. The problem with paying it much attention is that it really doesn't tell me anything that is very helpful over the long haul. But I'd say bounces in the range of a pound or two are the most common, either up or down.

Scale weight as it is given takes so much into consideration and only some of that is how fat or slim I am. LOL So I know that the scale weight number is made up of my muscle and bone and body fat, etc., but it's also how much water I'm retaining in my tissues, how much food is still passing through my digestive tract, how fully 'carbed up' I am from recent meals or whether my food choices lately have included a lesser percentage of higher carb foods and a larger abundance of very low carb foods.

So you can weigh yourself first thing in the morning, enjoy two cups of coffee, and then weigh yourself again and be UP a whole pound! But it's not fat. It's just two cups of coffee, sitting in your belly. Scale weight isn't as important as your measurements truthfully, so use it only as a guideline.

Thanks for all your feedback! I'm happy with the overall trend of the scale so seeing the higher weight doesn't bother me at all, I was just curious what other people are seeing.

Kimberly, I agree, it is glorious when that new digit finally arrives!

Edited to add, maybe the smaller range over time is from SIRT1 kicking in?

I could easily go up 1-2.2 lbs when I first started. Now I go up 0-1.4 lbs. I don't watch carbohydrates or sodium so after fasting one day then eating plenty of food the next day I expect to bounce, but some days I don't bounce at all.

I have had surprisingly little bounce. At most, I will go up a pound once a week. My overall loss has been slow, so I'm glad it's not bouncing drastically.

My bounce varies greatly from nothing to 3 pounds on average. Now I have had the HUGE bounce a few times but it was easily traced to the UD menu.
Can't even tie a loss to the higher or lower bounces. It just bounces.

Sometimes in the morning I weigh every hour from the time I get up (about 05:00 usually) until, oh, about 10:00. I can 'gain' and 'lose' four or five pounds during that time. My weight taken at 07:30 is my official weight.

Kimberly, I am with you! Those last few pounds really move slowly . Ah well, we know we will arrive...might as well enjoy the journey.

Dakini, that is what I think: the higher the SIRTs the lower the bounce (unless, of course, we ate the pantry yesterday).

Sometimes I weigh less in the afternoon after an UD than I did in the morning of the UD...weird. I stop expecting anything, because I can be down after an UD and up after a DD. Go figure.

I may weigh myself a bunch of times too, but my official weight is always the lowest one...

You are all very brave. Generally, I can only face the scales once a day. That takes quite enough courage, even though I am seldom unhappy with what I see now that I have found JUDDD.

I'm almost always lower in the evening UD or DD. I think the medications I take at night kind of bloat me up and I spend all day releasing lol the extra fluid. I think the girl at the front desk really wonders how I could need to use the bathroom that frequently
