Oof - UD tiny tummy

I have been looking forward to today for a few days - my 2nd UD, I thought I'd take the kids out to my favorite Indian buffet - good fresh food, and I usually eat a TON. This time, I think my preschooler outpaced me. It was all so good, but I was only able to eat a teeny bit and my stomach HURTS from what I did eat.

So I think I did the calculator wrong the 1st time. I remember it being like 380 calories on DD and 1800 on UD but I just did it again, and it's 408 on DD and 2039 on UD... I'm actually more comfortable on DD - I'm just feeling sick from all the food on UD!! I have bought some high-calorie cheese, and some HWC and some nuts, and am thinking of just making a bunch of low-cal casseroles, and eat the same every day, but add the cheese + nuts + whipped cream in my coffee to get up to 2000 calories on UD. Does that sound wierd? I just can't eat enough FOOD to get up to 2K after eating such a low amount of calories the previous day.

that is excellent really. yet another thing I love about intermittent fasting is that we seem to naturally adjust to proper portion sizes and be able to stop when we have eaten what our bodies need.

Was coerced into eating out last night by birthday well wishers, I ate 5 shrimp and 3 wagyu beef potstickers. Totally full and no over eating. It was so easy to put the chopsticks down and send the plate away. No blown down day.

LOL - I have NEVER had a problem eating up to my UD limits (currently ~1850). I have, however, had a problem eating over the limit. I am scared that in maintenance I will have to live with 1500 calorie UDs and that seems like a diet to me! In truth, 1850 seems like a diet to me. If I eat to natural satiety without counting I would probably hit around 2500 most days. Is it any wonder I gained weight? Hope my appetite adjusts as my body adjusts.

Thanks guys - I guess this is like everything else, lol - YMMV! I'm actually looking forward to tomorrow as a DD, so I can let my tummy rest.

It will!
I know on strict low-carb I could put away a 12oz steak, a bunch of broccoli and a big salad loaded with dressing.
Now, it's a 4-6oz steak and a salad or side and I'm stuffed.

Well, it's already showing a benefit - I'm down a pound already from yesterday's 1st weigh-in with a scale!

Thank you dear! Milking the birthday for all it is worth
Hubby and youngest son are going hunting this weekend, and I get two days all to myself. I may live in pajamas, watch old musicals, and read read read.

lowcarbinca - tiny tummy is a problem for many of us. I encourage you to think high-cal foods. Like cream/hwc? Add it when cooking. Use real, full-fat cheese. When you eat out, don't fill up too quickly on high-volume, low-cal foods like veggies - make sure you eat the rich stuff at the same time.

Now, there is some seriously unexpected weight loss advice!

Also, watch how your body responds to various foods. I have a few things that, if I eat them, I know I will bloat and feel stuffed.

It gets better with practice...the transition to "How can I eat that much?" takes dedication and determination. But it can be done. And, we are behind you - gobbling unexpected pleasures on UD - all the way!

I did not "lose" weight. I evicted it. It is gone and it ain't coming back!

JUDDD cares about calories. JUDDD does not care what you eat. Your body probably does.

Thanks, Nancy! The good part is that I am barely hungry at all today, a DD.
