Face Cream!!!!!!

Now that we are getting a bit thinner what are the best face creams to use?

I have used many kinds the past years, none work wonders for me

I have also used Coconut Oil on my face at night and all that did was make my face shine like a baby's butt

Any suggestions for the face, especially around the eyes?

Leona

Well, I make my own using emu oil, karanja oil, rosehip seed oil and a few others I can't remember at the moment. A dab of lavender essential oil for fragrance and for it's skin healing properties. Oh and I can't forget the goat milk. I like it and I get compliments on my skin. Wrinkles and all.

I have been very impressed with all the Garnier line of products.
I don't know your age, but the L'oreal line with calcium or collegen rebuilders might also be good. (I love the L'oreal Youth Code under-eye cream, it's the most moisturizing I have found. That's my problem area).

I make my own too. I also like to use straight jojoba oil...it's fantastic even around the eyes.

I've heard miraculous things about emu oil, but when I tried it, my cats spent the whole night licking it off my face...so, that hasn't worked out particularly well.....

Bwahaha! Cats enjoy emu oil!

Kathy, I think I will look for Jojoba oil to include in my regimen.

I have found the best cost effective combo that I can't imagine ever varying from. I use an organic line that I found at my "health food store" called, "Acure Radical Age Reversal" and I am so smitten with it. From its bottle..."A concentrated blend of Organic Chlorella Growth Factor, Organic Curoxidant™ and Organic Argan Oil cold processed for maximum results." It is $30 and so far I am on my fourth month of using this nightly. I also use the Acure hair products that are made with "Moroccan Argan Stem Cell and Argan Oil". My hair is looking so healthy for a 54 year old!

I really like Korres wild rose day moisture and the quercitin and oak night cream, serum, eye cream. Rich, moist, and seem to work. HSN generally sells them cheaper than anywhere else.

I use Olay Regenerist stuff on my face and I'm very happy with it. I really need something for the sun damage on my arms and legs. Any suggestions?

Well, I don't have a house cat so I am safe there although when I use lotion that I make, my house doggie wants to lick my legs. Emu oil is too expensive to top dress her food with even if I buy it by the gallon. Silly animals.

I do tons of fruits and vegetables on the inside (I often have at least 30 different ones on hand at any given time), and I use most any face cream on the outside. I just used up my Boots recently and am now working my way through a jar of Estee Lauder, but it's only a day cream. Some night creams are too greasy for me.

Thank you for thread, because I don't have a clue and should try to get one. Sunday, I was just by the healthy foods store - shoot! But will look another day.

I can add this - wild salmon is the food with highest recommendation for the face/skin from Dr. Perricone. And Dr. Mercola attributes Astaxanthin (capsule supplement that is the antioxidant in salmon) with "... ...reduction in the appearance of wrinkles, dry skin, age spots, and freckles..." among other good things.

Drinking enough water is paramount.

I have also tried coconut oil on my face and got the same effect -- just a little bit too shiny and greasy for me. I like the smell (at first) -- but even that seems to go... I dunno, I can only describe it as rancid after a while. Anway, long story short -- I don't think my skin is perfect or anything, but there is one thing that makes it UNBELIEVABLY soft (people who touch it ask me what I use -- lol). Seriously, nothing has ever worked for me, like this -- and it's not even an "official" face cream. It's actually a body lotion (I know, so low-rent! lol) -- it's the one with the blue cap.

For me, it's the best of all worlds -- fragrance free, cheap, and NOTHING has ever made my skin as soft. Also, it never makes me break out.

75% of the time I don't use anything. When the weather turns cold, I use shea butter and works nicely for my skin.

I have to give my highest reccomendation to Aveeno 24-hour Skin Relief moisturizing lotion. (the one with the dark blue cap) It sounds so low-rent, and it's not even a face cream -- but NOTHING has ever made my skin feel like this stuff does. Everyone who touches my hands goes out and buys it. lol To me, it's perfect: fragrance free, cheap, makes my skin oh-so-soft and doesn't make me break out. It's my moisturizing holy grail. lol

Oh, another thing that might be good is pure vegetable glycerin.
Honey's supposed to be great, too.

I recently ordered something called Hydrogen Boost that's supposed to be near-miraculous for skin & many other conditions. Reviews for it are amazingly positive. I'll report back after I get it.

ETA:
An employee at Harmon's once told me that oily lotions can make your eyes look puffy. She recommended gel-type moisturizers; look for ones made with things like aloe, glycerin, cucumber, & oatmeal.

No prob, Whitlin' -- I actually reposted because my first post didn't show up for quite a while and I thought it had gotten eaten. Anyway, Aveeno Skin Relief 24-hour moisture lotion -- the one with the dark blue cap. I used to use Clinique or Philosophy Hope in a Jar. No more, baby. lol

I use Tretinoin as it's the bench mark by which all wrinkle creams are judged and is proven to work on all signs of ageing by numberless trials. The only catch is you have to get it prescribed. I get mine from Canada to get round that silly legislation.

I also use my home made vitamin C cream in the mornings. That, a weekly glycolic acid peel and keeping oestrogen levels up are the holy 4 of proven skin care. Everything else is not as effective or not proven over the long term.

I took a punt on YSL Renew as it featured in a Horizon Programme and seems to have some scientific backing. If I just want a superb moisturisers I use my Neal's Yard Frankincense cream.

But of course the most effective cream you can apply is a good sun screen.

I'm a terrible nerd when it comes to skin care.
