You're being rather stoic about all of this, I'm astonished you're even thinking about DDs and rotations. Do get well in a timely manner.

Coming to the end of my first 'transitioning to leptin reset' DD with one meal which had the majority of calories (breakfast) and one snack-size meal this evening (soup).

I'm surprised at how unsettling it was to have such a different routine - a couple of times I wanted to eat something because it's what I normally do in the evening. I had to remind myself that I wasn't hungry and it was just habit driving the thought to have something.

Somewhat headache-y so it hasn't been straightforward.

Potential upsides: it's an UD tomorrow and i) I may actually be hungry enough to find it easy to eat my UD allowance; ii) I might fancy a substantial breakfast for once.

I think I'll have to run through this sort of DD a couple of more times to gauge its effects before I can start shifting my UD calories more towards my breakfast than dinner. (Apart from anything else, it feels like a major potential impact on social occasions.)

I'm really pleased that I'm in the 130s for the first time since 2009 (albeit at the top-end). However, it's belatedly occurred to me that I'm eating quite low carb at the moment because I'm preparing for the leptin reset and there's a reasonable chance that I'm dropping glycogen and its associated water rather than fat. Nonetheless, I'm still pleased for various reasons as passing my bogeyman figure of 140lbs psychologically convinces me that losing the rest is possible.

Good luck, SS. I applaud those of you trying to do more than just JUDDD. For me, that is enough.

My DD is going ok. I feel a little weak from all the DDPP. I'm definitely getting rid of some water! I'm at 125 cals, and looking forward to having a meal this evening. Have a great rest of the day JB's!

I remembered my ptero also and I took two this morning like Kissa does(I think it was Kissa). I usually take one in the am and one in the pm and they don't do a real good job but two this morning and I have been good all day and have had no appetite. So for now I will be taking two on DD mornings.
Maybe I should take two on UD's too since I tend to be an UUAD person.

BUT today is a 5. Was a super easy day today. And I did a potato DD too.

I took two this morning too, Adi. Not together but both before lunch. I'm not sure if they would work on UD for me, however. I still felt the hunger, but my will was stronger. On UDs, it wouldn't be as easy.

I'm doing pretty well...ended up at around 430. I think I've overestimated a little, but I did enjoy my supper. I am full for the first time in a long time on a DD. Now where's that fudgsicle?

I'm calling this DD a 5! Had little hunger after I took my ptero (2) this am and passed on the delicious looking and smelling pizza at the office lunch today. Munched on a bit of chia seeds in the middle of the day and they seemed to help, with hunger too. Came home and did 3 miles on the treadmill and am calling it a night with 175 cals for the day, net of exercise would be more like a negative 200!!!

The cyst rupture definitely through a wrench in my WOE, but I tried to maintain the rotations. Of course this all happened right when the gene kicked in and DD's started being a piece of cake. I'm hoping today goes well and I don't go over my calories. Plus yesterday I was cleared by the doctor for light exercise. Thank god!

It sounds utterly wretched. Life does throw its googlies/curve balls. I hope that your rotations are of benefit to you and I admire your resolve to return to your exercise programme so swiftly.

It's lovely to see so many people had a good DD yesterday, it really does feel like there's a bit of a fillip from Spring going about.

I continue to be intrigued by people's experience of pterostilbene (?). I may well try a month with it soon.

You know, I sometimes look at people's profiles and realise they're following (say) a Primal Health Diet, Nutritional Ketosis, Cortisol Control and eating within a window all within JUDDD and my head at the thought of how they manage it.

I have enough trouble deciding what I can eat/do within fairly straightforward principles. Hats off and for the organisational skills of those who manage much more complex WOE. Mind, I'm aghast when I think of the organisation involved and then prompted to think how much worse it must be for those with any of the forms of diabetes that require hyper-vigilance and planning of food and exercise.

JUDDD has helped me I am certain but, don't laugh, about 8 months ago I started taking boring old Glucosamine, 3,000mg at night and 1,000mg in the morning and it has been life changing. I don't understand it but I'll take it. Literally.

Yes it is me and I forgot last DD, boy was it tough compared to usual.

Today I took them first thing and now at 1.30 UK time I am still not even thinking about food. I have had on instant coffee with skimmed milk. Planning Shiritake noodles with thai flavourings and green veggies tonight. May have a 'real' coffee when I am out shopping.

I'll give it 5.

The good thing about the sirtuins is, once they kick in, they stay active for a couple of weeks, even with bad or no rotations. Today might be a little tougher than usual, but it shouldn't be as hard as the first few were.

Doing ok on the DD today. Thus far
Breakfast (10:30 AM): 2 Scandanavian crisp bread crackers+ laughing cow light cheese = 85 calories
Lunch: tomato salad = 100
Dinner: celery salad = 50

So, a question for you experienced JUDDDers:
Ended up with about 825 calories to eat last night when I got home from work. Had pan fried potatoes (w/Pam cooking spray, salt and pepper) for 330, three light tortillas (100 cals each) and topped them with PB2 and choc Better N' PB (190 cals total). I was more than full after the tortillas and PB, but ate the potatoes begrudingly knowing I had to eat them to get a full UD count. After eating the potatoes, I was so full it was actually painful! What would any of you have eaten in that "I'm already full, but need to get in calories" situation?

Thanks much in advance
DaSH

DaSH, I eat more calorie dense, fatty foods like cheese, avocado, PB, cream cheese. They definitely burn up those extra calories without being too much volume in your stomach.

Thanks much LoCarbGal. That is helpful advice. Like so many others, I think I am still *afraid* of those types of foods knowing how fatty they are. I have never been able to lose weight eating those foods before (except for avocado which I legitimately do not like - texture issue . I suspect it will take a while to release this way of thinking completely.

Everything you listed is low calorie. I'd go for meat if you're not vegetarian, avocados, full fat/calorie tortillas, full fat/calorie peanut butter, cook the potatoes in oil or butter rather than Pam, etc. UDs are about refueling and not feeling deprived. I would have also had wine and dessert, but that's just me.

Pterostilbene ? If you search the site you'll find it. There's a thread about it:

This was a truly stellar DD. I had some Shiritake noodles with veggies and some chicken and then a friend called to say come over, so I allowed myself a small glass of white wine. I doubt I made it to 300 cals.

I love this way of eating.

So far, so good on this DD. I am absolutely FREEZING, though, which I know a lot of people experience on their DDs. Wish I had a blanket to bundle myself in! Gonna have some hot broth in a bit, which will help to warm me.
