I can't even give it a number. Still recovering from a ruptured ovarian cyst so I honestly have no appetite. I'm on pain meds so I eat when I have to, but I haven't been hittting my UD calories and my DD calories have been about 25 over all week, but still under 500. I'm trying to maintain the rotations and give my body the care it needs so it can heal. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Oh Lili yes, please take good care of yourself. JUDDD and the rotations will be here for you when you're feeling good and well again.

DD here is going fine. I had some coffee with a tsp of CO and a SF banana popsicle so far. I will do Soren's wonderful Shiratki noodles with spaghetti sauce and a small salad for dinner. We worked outside all day yesterday, planting 4 blueberry bushes and working in the yard. It is such a gorgeous day here; spring has finally sprung in Atlanta!

This is my first DD in quite awhile. I'll give it a 2, maybe 2.5. I did not start with an UD and stopped eating at 5 pm yesterday.

I'm hungry but not so much that I won't hold out until the morning.

Looking forward to a good DD hoping for a 5.

I am meeting my DD and her DH at a large Mall where they have a wonderful food court. I am planning on a small dish of Tabouleh.

I think I'll have shiritake tonight too.

My appetite is 5 so I don't have any apprehensions about that as yet.

I am annoyed that my knees are continuing to be swollen and hurt so much. I had a lovely day out yesterday but some of the shine was taken away by how much my knees were making it difficult to walk around Kew Gardens and I didn't get to see all of the exhibits I'd planned.

So my knees are probably affecting my mood, making it a 2 in combination with the following.
  • I've recalculated my JUDDD numbers because:
    • I've lost 16lbs;
    • I'm not supposed to exercise in the transition to the leptin reset or during it.
  • My DD is now 317 which more or less means that I have one meal during the day and a snack when I serve dinner to DH on our DDs (because the protein breakfast grabs nearly all the calories available).
I've more or less just realised the above and have to re-jig my food plans for this week as I hadn't re-calculated my numbers nor realised that when I was complaining about my DD numbers last week, I didn't know when I was well-off.

Agh, I'd like some soup because I'm cold, not because I'm hungry. I might try some tea and see if that solves the emotional need.

I ordered some more Skinny Dip noodles, macaroni, lasagna and rice since I wanted to try the lasagna ones. Variety pack was the only way to get them. I am thinking about adding a meal on my UD's with the noodles to keep my calories under control and also for dinner on some of my DD's when I am not doing a potato day. I used to really enjoy the spaghetti sauce with a little bell pepper and onion on the noodles.
Today is going well and I am drinking water with salt. I have gotten away from plain water and I think I need to get off some of the artifical sweetener for awhile. Like forever.

I rate mine a 4 -- DD's have their bright side.

This is my 20th day of JUDDD and I seem to be hitting my stride and reaping the benefits of SIRT1 -- weight loss, better sleep, and not struggling as much with hunger on my fast day.

Down another 2 pounds this morning. Before JUDDD, I stuck rigidly to a keto diet since January 1st and barely lost any weight. I hated that WOE - I felt so deprived and suffered TERRIBLY from debilitating body and leg/thigh cramps.

I am so grateful for JUDDD and the health benefits of alternate day fasting. My entire family (DH and I) are reaping the rewards!

Today my DD is under control so I am saying a 5. I have been struggling for the past week or so since I ran out of pterostilbene. Just got my new supply in and have had my morning dose and just took my afternoon dose. I had not realized it would make that big of a difference on my DD's but apparently I was wrong. And my UD yestrerday was awful. No matter what I ate it wasn't what I wanted and I had already eaten it. Never did find what I was wanting though. But I did try a few too many items looking for it so my calories were way too high. Maybe tomorrow will be better with the ptero. And I am going to experiment with 4:3 and do MWF as DD's and weekends as CONTROLLED UD's. I have an event every weekend for the next two months and I am hoping this will be an easier way for me to cope.

Lili, that is horrible, sorry I missed that somehow. Take care of yourself and try to eat for nutrition.

I forgot to take my Pt this morning and I missed it. I will give it a 4.5 still but I ate at least 500cals.

I had some Pho for lunch, not the noodles of course and this evening I had cabbage but couldn't resist a bit of the chicken I cooked for DH.

I am also experimenting with 4:3 Adi....I still have weight to lose unlike you, but we have so much going on (weekends) this month. I find if i put unrealistic demands on myself and go over on my cals I get discouraged and overeat like crazy. It is a vicious cycle!
So anyway, I'm doing MWF dds also with hopefully a md on the weekend. i hope I can still lose...we'll see.

I'm about 100 kcals over my allotment. I wasn't hungry but I finally needed to take a painkiller for my swollen joints and I can't take them without food as they hurt my tum otherwise and I'm likely to have gastric reflux which would make it even trickier to sleep.

I normally delay taking painkillers for a long time and I should probably have taken some late last week.

If you front load your calories into breakfast on a DD, does anyone have advice for taking painkillers later in the day, please? I'm apprehensive that taking it with a mug of a glucomannan drink or such might interfere with gastric emptying and make the gastric consequences and reflux worse.

Slowsure-I have nothing to back me up, but I've wondered if gluc might prevent the absorption of some things, since it really gloms with all water. So I don't take it (eat it) with anything I know I need to absorb (meds or whatever). Just my thoughts.....

Glucomannan lines the stomach, delaying absorption. That's one of the reasons it's supposed to be beneficial for diabetics, delaying the absorption of glucose.

Mine is probably a 3.5. I'm hungry. I can't quit thinking about food and salivating, but there's no chance I will sabatoge the day. It just might not be at 20%.

Hi, off topic, but I wanted to ask what you take for your knee pain? I have an ongoing Knee issue and I am on a twice daily, 800 Mg anti-inflammatory (not painkiller though). I have had GERD for over 15 years, and, was taking Nexium just to take the anti-inflammatory's my ortho prescribed. They tore up my tummy. My podiatrist actually prescribed me something different to start taking instead that already has some kind of tummy medicine in it, and you don't have to take anything else with it. I don't even eat with it anymore and I have had no problems what so ever. It's expensive, but, for me worth it. It's called Duexis.

I share the same apprehension, thinking it might be possible to retain all of the hepatotoxic potential harms while reducing the potential benefits.

It sounds like it's theoretically possible that someone could unhelpfully prolong the exposure of some unhelpful substances to the stomach or large intestine (which might work against deriving much benefit from the medication).

Thank you both for confirming that I'm not alone in these reservations. I need to find a high-volume, low-calorie snack for DDs so that I know that I can take something if I have to.

I looked it up and Duexis was authorised for marketing in the UK about 5 weeks ago although they haven't published the launch plans as yet.

NSAIDs such as the ibuprofen family tear up my tum and they can increase the volume of the tinnitus to the point where I can't really hear people so I like to avoid them where possible. We have the usual ibuprofen plus proton-pump inhibitor combination in the UK however:
  • I find that this isn't effective pain relief,
  • the suppression of stomach acid makes it easier to develop food poisoning,
    • my sense of smell and taste haven't recovered after a concussion a while ago, so it's too easy for me to eat something that isn't 'quite right' so food poisoning is something I have to be careful about.
  • I tend to develop rebound hyperacidity if I stop taking it.
I should make a note of contingencies and have plans for them.

Thanks for alerting me to Duexis, I'll look for it being available.

So far so good. Sat was a DD but it ended up being an UD because I couldn't control myself. But I went ahead Sunday and did my normal UD so I wouldn't get out of rotation. so today I am back on track. Went through my closets over the weekend and it was nice to find some clothes that fit that are smaller and got rid of some others that were too big so that kind of gave me some incentive to keep going...Everyone try and have a good dd day.
