I'm hoping for a drama-free DD after the previous ones this week (malfunctioning washing-machine -> flooded kitchen for x2 days and then the microwave fire).

I'm looking forward to kayaking tomorrow so that thought is taking me through the day.

It is almost noon and so far I've done 10 calories on a berry splash and a ton of water..
One bright moment I checked the calendar and Easter is an UD. whew I am so glad of that. But I think there are times you have to make some allowances because if you don't I don't think it will work long term. I try and stay busier on DD so I'm not thinking about it. I can tell you so far on UD food is all I think about. Hopefully when I have done it longer that won't be so much of a problem. It has been pretty easy for me so far however I haven't felt any added energy people talk about. Susan

Oh so true!!!

My DD is a two-parter.

4 - Physically, because I am a little hungrier than usual.

1 - Mentally, because I'm seeing such little progress in my JUDDD journey this time.

Have you done the potato hack on DD? I've been reading on here about that. I haven't read enough to coach anyone on it just sounds interesting but don't think they add fat to it when they do it. I guess you could do SF ketchup maybe...hang in there it will get better I tell myself that this is third DD... Susan

I've thought about doing the hack. I've been back on JUDDD since January 2 and I weigh today what I did then. I am not happy. My DDs very rarely give me any trouble and are pretty easy. Not seeing any success on the scale is beyond frustrating.

That would be frustrating. I know I have found out that wheat blows me up big time. I don't get sick or anything and I love it. I went all one day with nothing to eat I ate two pieces of pizza that evening next day I gained 2 lbs. so apparently I am somewhat allergic to it or something weird. Maybe you have something like that, I'm new here so not very helpful are you mixing up your foods and getting a big variety in? Susan

That is such a sensible plan. You're obviously good with these things as you coped well with your unexpected lunch invitation.

I hope that you found something. For future DDs, it might not suit you, but do you like (plain) congee? Lots of recipes on the web but basically you can make the equivalent of 3.5-4 US pints or more of it with about 3.5 ounces of rice. So, that's about 360kcals for something that you can eat throughout the day (plus any flavourings you add to your portion - so a lot depends on whether you need more than a couple of slices of sushi ginger and some soy sauce or stock powder). It's unlikely you'd eat the whole pot in a day (YMMV but I have about 4 mugs of it at the most.)

Lots of empathy/sympathy with this. I stopped JUDDD at 140lbs in late 2011 because I wasn't making progress (and life happened). Plateaus/stalls are horribly demotivating. Of course now, I'm reproaching myself with having gained so much since and still being a higher weight than I was when I stopped. Key Tones has written some interesting accounts of her current experience breaking her stall/slow progress: ∞ Stalled But Determined Challenge! ∞

I just blew through all these slacks I bought in 2010 planning to lose weight into them, and now they are too big! I didn't even get to wear them (I bought a lot on a half price sale - stupid now in hindsight , but I use to be stuck in a size for a year.

I wish I could get it down to what's wrong. I've been "dieting" for over 30 years and have yet to figure out anything. There is no rhyme or reason to when I do or don't lose weight. The only thing I've had to do in the past was eat more on my UDs as I wasn't eating enough. I'm thinking that keeping my calories low on a DD doesn't work for me as it should. The couple times when a DD has turned into a higher end DD or MD is when the scale drops the next day. I've been trying to keep DDs to 400 or below. Last year I kept them at 500-525 and once I ate up to my UDs, began losing.

No matter if you're new here or not, you're thoughts are appreciated!

SlowSure - I'll check out the link.

Have to say mine has been pretty good so far. Woke up a little late and then went for a walk. Had ziltch for breakfast and lunch. Sipping some chicken broth at the moment for 20. I will prob have a potato for dinner. Don't know that I'll have a complete fast DD.

This one's a rare difficult one. I was hungry clear through to lunch time, had my chili, and it's only been 2 hours and I'm hungry again. Off to make some tea. FWIW, I'm about a week from TOM, so I suspect ovulation's throwing a wrench in the works. Oh well, I'll power through and still probably end the day at less than 400 calories. As we all know . . . hunger is not an emergency! I'll keep telling myself that!

I'm feeling you on this one today Dawn! I've been trying to keep my UDs under control and I think previously the 5 bajillion calories I was eating on a UD was making my DDs super easy! Today is a tough one for me too (doesn't help that it is TOM for me either!).

If you can end the day under 400 cal on a tough DD you are doing great! I'm at 430 right now and and hopefully done for the day if I can help it!

Great dd here... Good news at my work, starting a week+ vacation (not really doing much, but have to burn the hours or lose them)

Not overly hungry... Pteroblue kicking in?

Ended the day at 360 calories which is high for me, but not unheard of. Hunger has been explained, as TOM decided to visit a bit early. Slight new low (159.2) this morning, so powering through the DD was worth it.

I've seen 159.4 before, but would like, at some point, to have my high bounce be 159. I'm going between 159 - 162 this month, so we shall see.

Had coffee with HWC and decided to skip breakfast and go do chores. Fed all the babies and then DH came to tell me I had a doe kidding so by the time everything was completed it is time for lunch and I am not hungry now. I have some broth heating since I have found if I drink brother BEFORE I am hungry I don't ever actually GET hungry.
So a 5 for me so far and it is half over. Looking forward to getting a lot done today.
