Right on Adi! Are you going to have to cram your UD calories in now?

My DD has improved since I posted earlier. I'm feeling much better, and still not hungry, but not in a bad way. In a very calm, satisfied way. I just had a FF greek yogurt and feeling less bloaty and light. I'd give it a 4.872!

I have a great idea for dinner! I have a potato saved in the fridge from last night's dinner. I ate most of it, but left the skins a some of the inside...gonna bake it on 450? Add shredded cheese, crumbled bacon and sour cream.

Does the oven temp sound right, Adi? How long should I bake it...about 20 min? It's already cooked of course.

I am spopiled with the microwave for reheating but that sounds good for the time. 450 may be a little high.
Now cheese, sour cream and bacon can be high calorie. I can have those for dinner tonight since today is an UD for me but I would not on a DD but that is me cause I do very low DD's.

I am doing 500 DD's...and I won't be putting much (condiments) of any of it...I like it in the oven crispy...higher than it was cooked at 350.

OK. Crispy wasn't on my mind when you said that.
I do more like 200-300 DD's so there isn't much wiggle room.

The potato weighs in at 169 cals. One T of sour cream is 30, cheese (2 T) is 44 and one slice of bacon crumbled is 30. Grand total of 273 calories.

Then I have room for dessert! 2 fudgesicles are 80 cals.

Potato was delicious!!! I am completely satisfied. Today was a breakthrough for me, in that I was able to go all day on 20 calories and felt fine. I know hunger is not an emergency and I don't want to stuff myself every time I feel the pangs, but before today I had not felt the "calm" or the high. The hunger pains I felt on previous DD's were like little gremlins trying to eat their way out of my tummy, lol. ALIEN!!! All I can say is THANK THE GOOD LORD!!!!!!!!!! Please let this not be a fluke.

Doing ok, not hungry at all yet anyways. We'll see how the day goes...Dh's car wouldn't start this morning so I am carless (since he took mine) and the school just called saying my 9yo DD is throwing up. Wait? Is it Tuesday, or Monday? LOL!

Sorry about your day so far Flutter, but it IS Tuesday, so that's a plus! LOL

So happy it's a DD, I missed one this weekend when it became an MD and I really didn't like it, so I'm really going to try hard to not have any more of those.
The day is early, but it's a 5 so far, going to shoot for no more than 400 cals today.

Okay so far--no hunger pains or trouble not eating, but feeling a little dizzy. My body hasn't seemed to settle into these rotations yet, so I'm hoping this is something that goes away with time.

So far, a 4--a little bit hungry after having just half-and-half and coffee. But it will pass ... I've got my supplies (light babybel cheese, chicken breast, radishes, V-8, hard-boiled egg) and will eat what I have to, to concentrate at work, but am hoping to do mostly just water and green tea until I get home late tonight.

Hope your day gets better, Flutter, and that you feel better soon, deedee. Can you have some hot broth with salt in it? That's what I'd take for dizziness. zagnut, you are doing great on DDs, right from the start.

It's really helpful to read this thread. I realize that however my DD goes--really easy, hard and hungry, somewhere in between--my experience isn't unique, and I can expect easier days in future if today is hard. This board is so supportive!

Readjusting to put this at a 2. It's official I guess, I can't do an all-day fast. Need some food in the morning or I get a little hypo in the afternoon. I know other diabetics have had this issue, I was hoping I might be different. But I think as long as I have some protein before noon I should be fine.

Noticed that I also get really lightheaded and foggy even if my bg is fine. I remember Steph writing about this in many of her journal entries, so I'm thinking that's completely normal and (hopefully!) eventually goes away

So far a 3-4...30 cals from creamer. Tables are stacked with food today in our dept. Seems like people pulled out all the stops and brought the best food today, lol. Figures. I was higher weight-wise today than I've been since the 2nd week I started. So much for a great DD on Tues. Trying to work through this and start losing again.

Hope everyone is having a great day!

I am officially having an MD but I won't be eating until well into the evening when friends come over.

So this is another 5 DD. so far an instant coffee with skimmed milk and 2 tiny potatoes. I have been preparing a Beef Bourgignon all morning and then made my traditional prune and port stuffing. No Xmas is allowed if I don't prepare this!

Still doing okay.

Cindy, did you have a birthday without me noticing?!! I swear yesterday you were 64, lol. Your recipes sound delish! I bet the house smells divine. Oh and thank you for recommending The Night Circus. I've been reading it the last two days and I adore it.

Today is the second DD I've had, where I've gotten that crazy energy rush-sitting at my computer I can't keep my legs still lol. However, bad timing because I have an IEP meeting for my daughter at her school in a few minutes and I'll be in a small room with the speech pathologist, school social worker, her teacher and the principle-and I'm going to be bouncing off the walls

Yes, it's delightful (Night Circus). The writing reminds me a bit of Alice Hoffman.

DD--coffee (30), GNC fruit punch supplement (free sample, lol)...1 tsp (12), 1 ham roll-up that a co-worker brought (I took it in the lounge and scraped off about 3/4 of the cream cheese inside) (59), pickle (6) - 107

lunch - broccoli (40), chicken broth (10)

supper - spinach, LC cheese wedge, broth (70)

(227, but reserve right to possibly change menu or add )
