LG, we're all in this together And NO, you're not complaining too much!!

I've done the late-night snack on DDs too (sometimes waiting til after the clock struck midnight lol). Getting one's stomach to obey is turning out to be quite an adventure.

Awww, I'm overwhelmed at all the loving support here. I have tried various things with my DD's and none are fool-proof so far. I tried mini-meals, but wanted way more mini meals than I could afford calorie wise; tried not eating in the a.m. but couldn't get my mind off food; tried eating eggs in the am and toast (biggest breakfast so far on DD--yesterday), and did OK, even ended up not eating my 2nd half of soup for dinner. Then knew I was too high on calories to really eat anything else (was a little over, even without the 2nd serving of soup) later that night, when I began to get hungry again. So, I tried to go to sleep and managed to fall asleep, but as I wrote, woke up and ATE.

Oh, I also tried a potato DD. Worst one yet!

Does eating something high in fat tend to fill you up/get your mind off eating? If so, you might want to try making fat bombs (small ones, though). In a pinch, one of them followed by a very big glass of water can sometimes do the trick. I make mine with very finely shredded coconut, so I'm betting the water I drink helps to make it swell in my system a bit.

I don't know Rayne. I made those when I was LCing a lot, and I could eat 2-3 at a time! Haha! I'm not even sure if they filled me up or not, I just ate them as dessert. I didn't really count calories. Who am I kidding, I didn't count calories at all.

I could (and have and do) easily eat a tray of fat bombs in a sitting. Especially lemon-coconut fat bombs made with coconut butter. Mmmm

LG I am so new to this that I can't offer any advice, but I want to say hang in there! Everything tends to get easier with time. For me so far the very best thing I've found is soup. Broth-based soup especially, because I can eat 2 or 3 bowls of it and still be okay. I googled "100 calorie soups" and got a list of a ton of different recipes, all under 100 calories. If there's some protein in it, it seems to help.

LOL! I think my recipe would need to be made a little less....yummy. I'd have to ditch the salt and less nut butter. Or maybe create lard bombs.

DH was seriously too low on his UD cals yesterday (like that's ever been my problem) and ate 4 of them as an appetizer before dinner. I still hate testosterone.

Have you tried bulletproof coffee?

So far DD is going good. I was hoping for a better second week loss but at least it was a loss. I'm down another 1.5--I'll take it.

So I'll give it a 4Its almost noon here and so far I've had my mocha and not feeling hungry yet. We went to a nice buffet yesterday and I had a little bit of everything I wanted and got pretty full. Probably why my loss was small. But I enjoyed every bite of it. Their chinese food was so good. Hadn't had any in forever.

When I get hungry, usually around 2 or 3 I'll have one boiled egg and two slices of bacon, 4 oz tomato juice, black coffee.

In the evening I have my homemade chicken broth which always saves the day for me...and then some SF jello. Should be around 400 calories.

I REALLY want to be out of the 260's next weigh in so I'm going to be extra diligent this week.

So far my day is a 3, maybe 3.5. Can't clear the brain fog, exhaustion, and headache (then again it may be due to the crummy weather outside). Hunger is moderate, just had 1/2 C of my quick-pickled cukes. Kind of glad I made them as concentrated and peppery as I did, it's kept me from wanting more (at least for now).

I am doing well so far on my first DD this week! I have had too many holiday parties this week.

I have had an Atkins Bar & a 200 cal soup so far today.

Foe me LC helps to keep the hunger away on DDs.

Good luck

Library girl, just wanted to say I related to your story! My last DD, I felt fine all day. Hunger hit after 7 pm. When I went to bed, I tossed and turned. I kept thinking of food and my mouth was literally watering. I tried broth - no luck. I got up and read for a while - nothing. Had a slice of lunchmeat - still awake. Finally I just ate a meal! I figured no weight loss is worth missing a night's sleep! Anyway, the next morning was my lowest JUDDD weigh-in so far, so I guess I didn't do too much damage. We'll keep plugging along!

LG, lady, I'm so sorry DDs are so hard! I just know you're going to find the right solution that will work great for you, though!!!!

I'm doing ok today. Last DD I had a late breakfast/early lunch and that was my only calories for the day. I was surprised I wasn't famished the rest of the day, but I was alright. Today I've just had a bit of skim milk in my coffee this morning and been drinking liquids since. I was really busy and out & about so that sure helped. Pretty hungry the past half hour and getting through my family's normal Friday pizza night without eating outta be quite interesting (ugh) but I will prevail! Not sure if I'll nibble on something or just make a diet hot cocoa? We'll see how things go...I think I will be ok just telling myself hubby & I will eat out tomorrow while Christmas shopping. So far that line of thinking has really been helpful for me.

I've had a solid 5 today I've been gone most of the day running errands and haven't really been thinking about food. I'm on track to hit my new, lower DD calorie number and I'm surprised at how easy it's been. Going from around 500 calories to 360 isn't near as hard as I thought it would be. I'm starting my experiment with fixed day rotations today so I really wanted to have a strong DD before I had two UDs in a row (seeing how UD weekends work for me).

Hi fellow DD'ers... I'm having a surprisingly good DD so far, maybe a 4...It may be because like Sara I was running errands this morning into the middle of the afternoon... I finally remembered to buy diet hot chocolate (thanks) and just had one...Very good(but so is everything on a DD). I just hope the artificial sweetener doesn't kickstart the hunger monster...

Most DD's are tough for me, real tough... I am probably one of those people that will always have hard DD's...the only Magic I have seen from Juddd is on the scale and that is more than enough for me to tolerate those horrible, horrible DD's...
And also last but NOT least is reading and writing on this JUDDD forum...It brings me to tears at times and other times I laugh my head off... Alot like UD's and DD's....

LG I don't know if it ever gets easier... but this diet plan does work on most...Even on some who do fixed MD's and UD's every weekend...

Rayne I don't know if I could ever do DD's that low...Wow...No wait a minute, let me think...NOPE I don't think I could...

I know you've been sick with a bug lately; I'll bet the SIRT thingies had their (figurative) hands full helping you heal. That probably set you back a bit in terms of the magic and appetite suppression kicking in. Hope you are feeling better.

3 for me, today. I haven't felt bad, but I've been hungrier than on my last couple of down days, and went a bit over my intended calorie allotment so far--maybe around 550 calories today. I think I need to make sure that my UD calories are more concentrated toward late in the day, so they tide me over early in the DD; yesterday I made the mistake of "spending" too many calories at breakfast/lunch and just had a salad with some dressing with oil for dinner. But I'm still in a good mood, and that seems to be part of the JUDDD magic for me. Tomorrow I'm going to a jazz club with a friend for dinner and to hear the Manhattan Transfer perform; I'll go check the menu to pick out my choice of food for tomorrow's up day dinner.

Today is my first DD and I'm okay. My stomach growled some today but mostly it's been a mental feeling of loss I have to overcome. Great thing is I get to eat tomorrow. Isn't that what this is all about? I woke up from a nap and felt horrible and immediately decided I was staying up till midnight and eating but I doubt I'll do that, lol.

I just looked in the refrig to discover the dill gherkins have no calories so I'm off to the pickle jar.

So far today I'd give it about a 4ish. I have yet to eat anything except Almond milk in coffee this morning and I have a slight headache, nothing unbearable though. Since I still have all my calories to eat, I'm pretty sure it will stay at a 4.

CARLY YOU GET A TRIPLE ONE FOR UNDER 200 CALORIES (and after that procedure)

Eating later on UD's has been working for me also...

Have fun at the club...Isn't it great to be able to eat out with more ease!!

The crazy thing is, after you get into the rhythm of your rotations you may start waking up on UDs not even hungry There have been several times I went to bed thinking 'I can't wait to wake up and go crazy at breakfast' and then I woke up not hungry at all. I've gone all the way until lunch time on some of my UDs without eating-just not hungry.

That's the great thing about JUDDD, I've learned to eat when I'm hungry/when I need to, and to step away from food when I don't need it. I no longer do mindless snacking/eating. This is some wild stuff going on here

Finishing my DD at about a 4. Headache never went away, but at least some of the fog lifted.

2 mugs tea, one w/FF half-n-half (41)
pickled cucumbers (22)
4 Wasa breads w/4 light laughing cows (300)
piece of teriyaki beef jerky (49)

Total: 412......with enough room for another mug of tea and SF jello before bed

Feeling like a 4 now, but today was a 1 overall. I attempted just liquids and that was fine until about 4pm when I started to feel shaky. Took my blood sugar and was in the low 70's, which is probably fine for a non-diabetic, but scared me enough into eating something. I'm not prone to hypo's, but I think from now on I'll stick with eating something small around 2 o'clock to avoid this.

I am still very new to the JUDDD woe, but I believe it's going to be a lifesaver for me...being able to come here and read has been the biggest help of all....everyone here has good information, and it lets me see that to really help myself with weight loss, I do not have to do it perfectly..and when something doesn't work the way I think it should..I don't have the urge to just throw up my hands and quit..thank you all, again..for all that you do to help each other because it helps everyone..the one thing that I have some trouble with is that I feel starved on the down days..but on the up days, I have to really watch it to get the calories up..I can see that changing my old habits will take time..and I'm willing ot have patience now..something I always lacked in the past..I also found one other problem that I didn't know I had..I seem to be gluten intolerant...I've taken it out..and also soy and peanuts...too early to say for sure, but gluten may have been a major problem for me..

Welcome jaymar!!! I hear you on the starving DD's. As if anyone didn't know that about me. I am finding myself not as hungry as I thought I would be on UD's, like Sara. I often go to bed on DD's thinking of what I'll eat in the morning, only to have no appetite first thing. Stick with it and we'll be each other's cheerleader.

Today is a 4ish so far...drinking coffee and feeling the first pangs of hunger. It's almost 10:30 a.m. here...wondering when I'm going to have my first fat.

So far it's a 5, but it's only 9:30 am. My tummy is making some godawful growling sounds, but they're not hungry growls. I think it's the two huge mugs of blackcurrant tea I've drank, sloshing and moving around! It's a busy day today, so I don't think I should have any hunger problems. We shall see.
