Definitely a 5.

It is 14:40 and I am sailing along, getting a lot of crafting work done, had not even thought about food. Let's see...40 cals of hwc in coffee this morning. Water since. Amazing.

Too bad this is an UD.

Poor Nancy - we JUDDDers have such unique problems!!

Nancy: LOL!!! Been there. Done that.

Tooraloora: IMO it gets easier as you go along. Usually DDs don't bug me at all anymore. In fact, I find them pleasant and a time to do things I like. Read a book. Catch up with phone calls to family and friends. Organize my closet and try on clothes or go shop for new clothes. Take a jacuzzi bath. Hang out a lot on the JUDD forum.

Every now and then I have a really hungry DD with tummy growls, hunger pains and sometimes feeling very cold. When that happens I know the scale is going to go down the next day. That helps me tolerate it.

DD for me today and I'm looking forward to it.

It's been an interesting week. I should start posting on the daily weigh in thread. My bounces up and down have been interesting and sometimes wild.

Tuesday morning followed a 4 day vacay weekend with lots of UUAA eating. Not surprisingly the scale was up 5 pounds. I had a 300 calorie DD Tuesday, felt very hungry and cold at night. Wed the scale was back down the 5 pounds.

Thursday the scale stayed exactly the same after Wed. UD which was cool. Had another good DD Thursday and woke up to a 4 pound loss Friday morning. Very filling UD Friday and today the scale is up 3.6 which doesn't bother me at all. I had a lot of high volume vegetables and whole grains yesterday because I was craving them.

Anyway, so far this week I have an average loss of -.4 so I'll take it!

It's only 8:40 a.m. on this DD. I've had coffee with half and half and am now drinking some iced lemon water. So, I can rate it a 5+ at the moment. Not hungry at all. Just feeling very satisfied that I got to eat a lot of everything I wanted yesterday.

Hoping to eat a good serving of lean protein mid afternoon and also hoping that will keep me satisfied through the rest of the day.

I uncharacteristically had 50 calories around noon. It may not be a bad idea to try that now and then on a DD.

Carly: 10:41 a.m. here. I almost just did what you did. My stomach started growling and rumbling really loud. I decided to distract myself by packing for my trip and trying some clothes on for Hawaii. All the while I was slurping down my iced lemon water. Tummy has calmed down now and I'm feeling like a minus 5. Not too bad.

But, if it starts up again I'm going to eat an egg white (hard boiled) or maybe a small piece of meat to tide me over and shut the hunger monster down, hopefully.

I wasn't hungry per say but just really wanted to taste my homemade pumpkin pie shake. I made a small one for 50 calories, but I don't think I actually finished it. I'm out getting a pedicure at the moment...

You can do it! Eat something if you need to, though.

What color did you get on your toe nails? Inquiring minds want to know. I just painted mine hot pink.

1:36 p.m. here. I washed and conditioned my hair and did some laundry and am catching up on a few shows I had recorded. I also did half of a new calinetics DVD. That's all I could handle! I'm going to take it with me to Tahoe and maybe get through the whole thing in my hotel room.

My DD is still a 5-ish right now. I have not had anything calorie wise since the half and half in my coffee this morning. My steak and eggs are waiting for me if I need them, though.

I really want to buy some wine for this evening but don't know if I should be bad. I could spend 200 calories on a couple of glasses of chardonnay and not feel bad about it.

Good thing is I don't have any in the house, so I'll have to run to the store if I still want some later. Since I had 2 DDs this week that were 300 I'm sort of thinking today might be 500-600 just because.

I like having this thread to come to on DDs. It's very helpful to me!

My goal till Monday morning is 550 cals...

You can do it!!! I'm rooting for you!!!

It really helped me yesterday to keep coming back to this thread. I did end up going to the store and buying chardonnay and having 2 glasses last night.

Scale still went back down 2 pounds. Gotta love the bouncing scale.

Ugh - today is a 2. I normally sail through to dinner time without eating on most DDs but I felt a bit faint at the end of my workout and ravenous. I just ate half an apple with some PB2. Could it be the 178 grams of carbs I ate yesterday, doh!!!

Oops. I should have said DD #2...

It's been going pretty well, I'd say 3 to 3.5 on the scale. I just mixed up a shake and have started sipping it. The hunger has gone away with about 5-6oz which is somewhere around 50-60 cals based on how I mixed it. Plus about 20 cal from crystal light it's 2:40p and I'm still under 100 cals. I'm going to safe the shake for later.

The shake BTW is Isopure protein powder, Pineapple, Orange, Banana flavor. It's got 50g of protein, 1g of fat and no carbs... Last year I looked hard for a carb free shake and couldn't find any, so I had to try it. Not sure it 100% protein is a good thing for a DD but it's the normal amount of protein that I would consume any other day. It also fits in with what I've read about a protein sparing limited fast. Basically you drop your calories to around 500 by eliminating fat and carbs and just consume lean protein. Your body doesn't need carbs, it will use protein and fat to run things. I have plenty of fat for my body to use so the only thing I need is protein to prevent my muscles from getting picked apart...

Can't say it'll be the normal DD staple but for getting started the protein shakes are easy to count calories with.

Thanks goodness, so far it is 5. I am eating 3 small meals today and aiming for 500 cal. I found that eating slower really helps. I have always been a fast eater and usually eat in front of computer. I need to stop that. Also, if I follow with a glass of water it helps. I have read that it is not the best food combining to drink with your food, but than if you come to think of that, soup is water too.

So have I. When I was in maintenance mode after losing 50lbs on atkins I basically stopped eating on the run. If I couldn't sit down for 20 minutes I wouldn't eat.

Up to 340 calories to far...

I went for a motorcycle ride trying to get my mind off food and I think I found every restaurant within a 30 mile radius...

Mine was about a 3.5 on hunger, but that's because I pushed the envelope today. Yesterday a friend mentioned the possibility of doing dinner tonight after a rehearsal, and I was trying to figure out how to deal with it. So I finally decided to see if I could just not eat until dinner. I had my coffee with cream, but that was it.

And I made it! I really didn't start feeling hungry until about 3pm, and since I had rehearsal at 4pm I just had a large Diet Coke and pushed through it. I was busy so didn't think about it much. I didn't get out until nearly 7:00p, so I just had my first meal about a half hour ago.

I probably won't make that a habit, but it's nice to know that if I really needed to, I can do it.

4.5 today, really good day. We toured gyms this morning and ended up having shrimp stir-fry at around 1:30, chicken and veggies for dinner at 6:00 and I'm done for the night at 336 calories. Haven't been terribly hungry at all.

I'm aiming for under 500 today and at the moment (1.10pm) its a 5. Just finished my lunch, a miso soup an feel great! TOM started today so naturally don't feel like all that much, but still must fight the hunger pangs (with liquids)... am on a little bit of a high after dropping after an UD, YAY!
So with 100 cal down will enjoy some strawberries this arvo, and a nice big potato and vegies for dinner

3.5 or a 4. First day back on rotations since being on vacation, actually was looking forward to the energy I have on DD. I feel good, a little hungry but nothing bad. Too much coffee so I have a bit of a headache, but that's my own fault.
Since I'm easing back into things, I was going to allow myself 700 calories today. It's 4:30pm and I've had maybe 300 so far, 600 will probably do me for the day. 500-600 is my typical DD.
Late evening is my worst time on DD. I'm working on going to bed earlier to help with the late night cravings.

Ten minutes to 5pm. A 5 for sure. I definetly need to just fast till bedtime snack. If I start eating I get hungry. If I don't start I don't think about it. Saturday went downhill and I'm convinced it was due to that small shake.

Note to self: On a DD don't make a yummy snack just 'cause you want to taste it. You weren't even hungry, but that tiny shake made you hungry the rest of the day. And grumpy!

Mostly a 5 for me today. I didn't eat till 8.30pm - though I was ready for it by then!
Feeling hungry again at 10.30, with 37 calories left, I had a bran crispbread with anchovy paste and cucumber. Tasted like catfood smells and took me to a 2.
However, I just realised I saught compensation in a cup of tea, rather than chocolate - AND I settled for mint tea to save the milk cals. How's that for JUDDD magic?

I'm at a 4, not bad. I've only had about 200 calories and it's almost 4pm. Most of my calories came in the form of coconut oil.

I work until 8pm, so I might grab an avocado roll from the local sushi place in a few hours. When I get home, I'll have some soup or a piece of toast with laughing cow.

I had some Slim Styles granules mixed with water, it tastes like nothing but it's supposed to keep hunger at bay. It's basically konjac fibre.

Well I thought today was going to be impossible - I woke up very hungry. Had a stick of gum and worked through it. Late morning till this evening was pretty good and now I'm sitting down to a real dinner of low cal shrimp scampi with shirataki noodles. Small shrimp was BOGO at the store and my digital kitchen scale came in. It's so nice to be able to precisely measure out stuff.

Anyway, it's 5pm, I'm eating my first 250 cals for the day and feeling pretty good. I'm going to call it a 4. It would have gotten a 5 but I know how to make real shrimp scampi and this, while good and much better than a shake, isn't what I think of when I think shrimp scampi.
