And if it continues to improve at this rate, your DDs will be 5s by next week!

They get much, much easier soon, SOS. Good on you for seeing your progress.

My day was a 4.
Redid my numbers on the Dr J calculator today. With no exercise.
My new numbers are low.
UD 1,600
Dd - 350-400 I forget, went I to shock.
I chose 30% loss wt mode. Really don't understand that part of equation.
I used the lesser one and the dd was 360. So picked 30 percent.
Old numbers 1,900-2,000 on UD. Which really helps with dd.
I'm happy, I'll do fine.
W oops trouble with sending if off. Hope I haven't posted it 10 times.

I really love reading this thread and see how others are handling DD.
Mine started off crappy for other reasons but became a 5 JUDDD-wise. I didn't eat anything until almost 8pm and that was a homemade Almond Milk, peanutbutter, pineapple, chocolate shake at about 180 calories, sounds gross but was good lol
I didn't even need to drink it when I did, I just did. If I can get past the hungry time around 2pm every day, I can hold out.

12 slices pickled cucumber (13)

Trust me, I'm still pretty shocked! I fully expected the small plate of cucumber slices to do the usual spark-the-appetite thing...but they didn't. No idea why. I was also never ravenous at any point during the day, even now.

Starting my DD very early... lots to do today. Already hungry and it's only just after 6AM, BOO! The "baby" in me is starting to have second thoughts about this. WAAA, this is too hard! WAAAA. I'll weigh for the second time tomorrow and hope that it is worth it and enough to keep me going. I want to hold out until the "magic" kicks in... I don't want to be a quitter. Sorry, just venting... My planned food totaling 510 calories:

Now-Coffee with unsweetened chocolate almond milk & 2 T 1/2&1/2- 85
B-Egg whites scrambled with a few strawberries on the side-125
L-Spinach/radish salad with 3 oz chicken breast-150
D-Shirataki noodles with 1 tsp olive oil, 2 oz shrimp and seasonings-150

Yes Judy, I hope you'll hang in there and give it all a chance to start working for you. It really does work! This is a tough time of year to be starting I would think, with all manner of goodies all around. But you can do it!

Judy, how late do you eat on your UD? I noticed that if I have a snack in the evening of my UD like a few flax chips with cheese and sour cream (nachos) or a LC dessert, I am not real hungry when I wake up. If I have nothing after dinner, I am starving in the morning.

On DD's the longer I can hold off eating anything, the easier it is to make it through the day. I have my morning mocha but wait until 2 or 3 to have something to eat, which is usually high fat/protein bacon (2) scrambled egg
which is about 160 cals.

Just a thought. I hope you can find what works for you. I feel so much better on this plan and weight loss is just a part of it. I stuffed my body for so long with food, even on LC I overate too often, so giving myself days when I don't eat much is very beneficial for my health. Thats how I see it, anyway.

Thanks! I'd gone over my UD cals the day before and wanted to see if I could shake things up a bit (and do some damage control). I'd love to try it at least a few times a month if I'm able.

Judy, you can do this! My DD number is 426 (or is it 427?), and I wasn't coming anywhere near that number in the last week, my hunger was out of control. I was able to see that the higher calories I did reach were still in WLM...but just a bit higher. I think from what the veterans have been saying, sometimes it takes a while to reach that lowest number and to tame the Hunger Beast.

I can't wait to see the loss tomorrow Judy. I am sure it will be worth it. You will soon be looking back thinking, what was so hard about starting JUDDD...

Glad you've got your numbers sorted out ladies. It does help.

I am have a 4 today. So far only one potato (ordered plain baked with malt vinegar at a very nice pub, they couldn't have been nicer about it), and a glass of champagne. I know it is ridiculous, but the champagne was open in the ice bucket waiting for me when I got there, what to do?

Now going out to a 'meeting' to plan our street's NY Eve party, where I will be drinking wine.

So plan is nothing else to eat for me.

How did I do it?

GUILT!!

And lots of water (to feel full), then sipping on hot tea with dairy.

I've been losing so slowly, I think my bad UD was enough to knock some sense into me. I've no idea if I'll ever be able to replicate it again...but I may have to try to, at least a few times a month. My metabolism is pretty stubborn.

ETA: Here is my calorie graph since I started JUDDD on 11/18. As you can see, I've gone over and above my UD alottment 3 times now. It lets me know when I've been bad or good.

I just track my food on ****** along with my UD calorie limit as a reference point, and then I can have it generate reports/graphs for weight, calories, my complete lack of exercize... I have no idea how to do graphs on my own.

Good morning everyone!

I had the worst possible UD yesterday. Ended up eating about half my calories in low-carb snickerdoodle cookies, and then stopped tracking and ate waaaay too many sugar free jelly beans. Had the most awful stomach pains possible. So I'm kind of relieved to have a DD today so my body can rest. I'd really like to try only liquids today.

Ended up eating late last night on my DD. Was awakened at 1 am by bf in the kitchen, after tossing and turning with a rumbling stomach for an hour. Got up and ate pimento cheese and club crackers with Joey (my sweet dog) in the bed. Was finally able to sleep, but came to the conclusion that there is no JUDDD calm or magic for me. DD's are pure work and I cannot get my mind into that state that so many of you seem to enjoy. If it's a physical thing, it's not started in me yet after nearly a month.

You'll see in any of the threads referencing JUDDD magic, that it's different for all of us, and can take longer than a month to achieve. For some, there's internal healing going on that can take a while before the SIRTs get fully saturated and the DDs become easy peasy. I honestly believe you'll get there, especially once you find what works for you to keep you satisfied on a DD. If that's a few more calories than the calculator gives you, that's okay. As long as you're not hating your WOE, you can make it work long-term. The thing about magic is that it can't be rushed. It just takes its sweet time to arrive.

Also, please read Stephanie's weekly updates, starting with week one. She had a really rough entry to JUDDD, but persevered, and gives an honest account, week by week, of her struggles and triumphs.

No way, LG! That's what we're here for. The more you tell how you feel, the more we can tell you how we feel/felt, and give you ideas of what's going on. You all have talked me off the ledge a couple of times. If not, I wouldn't have kept going, which would be a darn shame.

I'm sorry you are having a rough time LG, I know it has to be frustrating and don't feel like you are getting on anyone's nerves, we are all here to help each other and try to get things figured out
I am too new to JUDDD to be of any help, unfortunately. I only know what has been working for me is to fight thru the hunger for as long as I can with only coffee and almond milk, then have the first real calories of the day later. Once I get past the 2-3pm mark, I have found the hunger goes away. I have been eating around 6 or 7 at night then again at around 10 or 11pm.
If I eat first thing in the AM, forget it, I'd be hungry all day...

I wish you the best and hope you can find what works for you!

LG, don't ever feel like you can't talk about your feelings and air your troubles here. That's what this forum is for. How else would we all learn how to customize and make this work. I know it probably seems to you like many are having such easy DDs and flying through them with no issues, but it's definitely not the case. I know I sometimes just don't feel like posting at all when I'm having a difficult DD, and am in a better mood to post when I'm having a good DD. Also, DDs certainly weren't good for me at all in the beginning. It took me a while to figure out what and when and how I needed to eat on DDs to manage them, along with a lot of trial and error to get over the learning curve, and even then, it took even longer for that "magic" and calm to appear (several months at least).

Have you tried different types of food to see what satisfies you the longest on DDs? Also, have you played with the timing of when you eat, or different amounts at different times, etc.? The only way I can make DDs work is similar to how zagnut does it. I just really can't eat solid food at all during the day and will break my fast around 7-8pm on DDs and have my first meal then. I may or may not have a snack after that, closer to bedtime. I can't go to bed hungry and I always want to eat more at night, so this is what works for me. If I start eating earlier in the day, 9 times out of 10 I'll end up overeating on my DD. It just doesn't work for me that way.

I know for others, they need to eat a huge breakfast or lunch instead, and then they don't need to eat the rest of the day. Still others of us prefer tiny portions of food spread throughout the day. Some of us need lots of bulk, like huge salads or veggie soup, etc. Some of us (and this includes me) can eat 10 salads in a day and still starve. I need the combo of protein and fat. I am almost always pretty close to zero carb on DDs, because that's what satiates me. Some of us do well with a combination of carbs, fat and protein.

I think once you figure out what combo works for you, it'll be much easier. Keep track of when and what you eat and make a note of what satisfies you more. Keep asking questions. We want this to work for you!

What a bummer Lib girl.
HOPE U measured at the beginning of JUDDD?
IF U DID. RE Measure PLEASE! U should be floored to see the drop!
Or put on some pants that use to be unwearable or tight.
What I saw on my precious scale this morning.
Was really flooring for me. Not in a good way either. Grumble!
It will be 2 weeks Saturday- ish that I got back on the JUDDD wagon.
I was actually impatient about weight this morning. Just knew I had dropped 2-3 lbs!
I was wanting my hubby out of the bathroom so I could strip down to only my undies, I didn't want him to know that I was going to wt.
My scale moved down almost 1#....
The reason for this story is to cheer u up.
Even my less than one pound lost for this week.
I can see my rolls of blubber disappearing on my waist.
My husband told me that a few days ago. I also had noticed my rolls were calming down. Insert happy face here!
I was wear a tank top. They don't hide anything.
So there!
The scales lie at losing your self!! Smile.
Here's hoping for calmer rolls for u. Please hang in there.
