Soon, I'm sorry you're feeling tired and achy!
I just wanted to chime in and tell you that I would be careful with 2 DD for every UD. You may actually be going in exactly the wrong direction and starving your body. It's possible that it wants a bit more instead of less.I'm no expert here, so I hope that the true experts will chime in here. I just always cringe when I hear that people veer toward deprivation and lower calories right away. You certainly don't want to slow your metabolism down more than you have to.

Well my first DD ended in an epic fail
I had 175 calories left of my 500 calorie goal, but I'm sure the onion rings were more than that. On the bright side, I resisted getting the all you can eat pasta, soup and salad bar that everyone else was getting. ![]() Last edited by mom23kids; 11-09-2012 at 05:35 PM.. |

Not an epic fail by any measure mom23kids -- you made the best of the situation, listened to your body, chose as wisely as you could, learned something about this WOE and still had a very low calorie day. Sounds like a good start to me - congrats!!!

Am having my worst DD so far....have had approx 100 extra cals but I know that probably wont make a difference tbh. Ive got a headache and have been starving all day...I could eat my own arm!!
Cannot wait to wake up in the morning to a UD....only saving grace is that I need a whoosh and am hoping the fact that Im so so hungry means Im going to get one!! |

So far a 5. No hunger, but probably too early in the day to call it a 5- it's only 12:30pm. I have pretty much eliminated diet soda, but allow 1 glass once a week when I eat out. I had half the large glass last night and right now I really want diet soda... obviously it's not a calorie issue, but I think it slows my losses. Felt the same with coffee and now I start with half a cup when I think I really need it, but usually spill it out. I'll have half a cup of diet soda and see.

Started very well but we've just been invited out for dinner. (More celebrating!!)
I've also been invited out to dinner on Tuesday. So I've decided to surrender and enjoy today as a UD. Then, I can have a DD tomorrow, an MD on Monday (out for lunch) and enjoy the dinner on Tuesday. Phew! ![]() |

Sounds like a good plan, FlossyLiz.
So far, DD is going very well. It's early yet, but I'll call it a 4.5. All I've had is full-on BPC, and it's not sitting as well as it could, but not too bad either. I have a pretty relaxing weekend ahead (at least, that's how it looks as of right now!) |

Wow. It's not even 11:00 a.m. and my tummy growls are turning into hunger PAINS! Yikers!!!
So what does that make this first DD home after too much vacation? A one so far, maybe, if that! I'm running ideas through my mind about what I should try to calm the beast. Maybe some coconut oil stirred into chicken broth? Hmmmmm....wonder what that will taste like. I'll go try it and report back! |

Reporting back:
I poured a huge mug full of low sodium fat free chicken broth and microwaved it until very warm and drinkable. Stirred in one teaspoon of coconut oil and half a cap full of ACV. Sprinkled in oregano and a bit of sea salt. It's working! I'm already at a 3 and Ms. Tummy is quiet now! Whew! I was starting to feel panicky! This tastes really good. The coconut oil and acv make this taste like a Ty soup. Yum! |

Mom23 that is not a fail! Lots of,folks started off at 6 or 7 hundred cals and just slowly dropped back. It is a new experience for you body to be denied food whenever it fancies, naturally it isn't always easy. You,re of and running, enjoy your UD.
Hope you got you whoosh Jacci. I am looking forward to a good DD, it is early yet but I am hoping this will be another 4 or 5 |

Thanks LCG and Yam-Yam. Had a lovely evening and I generously guesstimated the meal was only about 600 cals. So, including plenty of wine, I probably came in only about 50 cals over my UD limit.
JUDDD is amazing isn't it?! I could do with a really good DD today though!!!! |

Today would be a 4 I think. I am at that 'not hungry, but fancy something more stage'. But I am not going to cave in. Flavoured water will do fine.

4 today. Had about 160 cals so far but exercised them off and some of their friends. I'm a bit hungry now but planning a light meal around 6pm then off to bed on an empty stomach and hopefully a good scale reading tomorrow!

BAD one today - in terms of not actually feeling hungry, great! However, worst (tmi alert) period in MONTHS and I feel like I have the munchies - but not hungry. I just feel LOW and like: wish it was tomorrow.
And I am crabby. Going to get a nice coffee and a book and chill. |

Shari - sorry you're fighting the tummy-bug and feeling icky! Take it easy, rest, and let your body fight those little guys. Feel better!
![]() WitchyAnne - TOM can be THE WORST! I'm having mine too, but luckily, it's a fairly easy one. I usually have one like you're having around once a year. Here's hoping this passes for you quickly, and you can feel better. The coffee, rest and book sounds just right. ![]() I'd have to say my DD today is a 5. I'm not quite sure why. I feel good, not hungry, looking forward to my DD dinner later. I wish they could all be like this, but I'll just enjoy this one while it's here. |

You know how women who live together often end up on the same monthly schedule? I wonder if JUDDDers do too!
TOM decided to visit me this morning too, a bit early. I'm giving today a 4. I exercised this morning, not knowing what that would do to my hunger. I got hungry a little earlier than usual and took lunch at 11:30, but was able to get through breakfast time with no problems. I just ate and am perfectly comfortable, but looking forward to my spaghetti squash tonight. I'm also feeling a little weak, but that's probably just because I'm out of shape and doing C25K. What was I thinking?

OOF.
![]() Today is a 2. It's 5:55, I've eaten all my allotment of calories at the 20% level, and I'm really hungry. Possibly I worked up an appetite raking leaves My plan is: -Drink some tea and hope it goes away. If no results, then - -Try some broth (even if it could mess with the scale tomorrow ... I'm really sodium sensitive.) If that doesn't work, then - -see if 50 more calories will help. Looking forward to tomorrow. ![]() |

What's the rating scale 1-5 mean? is there a legend somewhere
I'm on maintenance calories through the holidays determining NOT to gain. Today's DD was fairly easy hunger-wise, but I'd "like" to eat something more filling than what I picked. I may have to decide what to do with the remaining calories differently. Cooking a turkey for later in the week on a DD maybe wasn't the best idea, the smell is pretty good. LOL |
