Kristin, how did you get your DH to join you doing JUDDD? My sweet DH wants to lose weight; but, he's struggling to do a diet 1/2 way. I told him yesterday what his calories counts would be on JUDDD. All he said was, "Really?". I think he was surprised. Anyway, we both were doing this "diet" he's trying to do until I started doing JUDDD. So, I guess he feels all alone.

So, Tay, you ended your day smelling pizza?! You're much braver than I! Tomorrow you'll have a terrific UD.

Shari, my lovely man decided on his own after watching the BBC Horizons show with me. (There are links to it on the "benefits of IF" thread.)
I was flabbergasted when he said he was going to give it a whirl.
He does two DDs per week, and didn't count calories at first. Said he never would. A few weeks in, he began to roughly count DDs only.
The guy was skinny to begin with, but he's significantly skinnier now.
What he's hoping for is a drop in BP.
So I guess it was all his choosing, which is the only way it'd work for either of us.

Kristin, you are so right on that! I felt so bad for him last night. When he asked me the other day to help him get back on track with his eating, I agreed & made him some of his favorite things to eat. Last night, he decided he wanted a peanut butter sandwich. When I saw what he was doing(as he held 2 slices of light bread in his hand) I said, "that's not on your diet". He looked like a little boy with his hand in the cookie jar!! He asked which food wasn't on his diet. Really neither is; but, he just cannot leave the PB alone! I reminded him he wasn't eating wheat on his plan.

So, helping him eat one way & me eating another can be very difficult at times!

Now I'm off to find that link in the IF thread! Thanks for your help!

Shari

Shari, I feel for him. I can't leave peanut butter alone either. That's why I like Juddd.
My lovely man ends every DD day with a spoonful of PB. He moans more during that spoonful than is safe for a man with high blood pressure.
All the best to both of you. I'll bet it works itself out.

A good day for me... 4 I think. Travelled a bit, was open about how I'd eat (not eat) & TOM finally arrived after a week of cramps & tiredness. A little evening light-headedness has me in bed early, looking forward to eggs & smoked salmon in the morning.

Excellent day. Limiting myself to just hemp protein in water on down days is really working for me right now. No hunger with enough energy to function. This is my fourth dd like this in a row and so happy to be back on strict rotation. Will weigh in the morning for first week. My flab is getting very jiggly. That's a good sign. Ready for a good night's sleep and a lovely up day tomorrow.

Travel day for me and not really low cal - more of a maintenance day but I am ok with that. I'd call it a 5. Fasted till 3pm then had a Cobb salad w no dressing and a bit of DHs flat bread but then had two salted caramels I didn't really need. Hoping to stop now.

DD again! I bought some 100 calorie things to eat (like cottage cheese & popcorn). Hope this DD goes smoother than my first. I have a lean cuisine to eat for dinner. Going to try to stay at 500, not over 600 calories.

Tammy, it gets better. Promise.
Four, today. I have no idea why I don't say five. Okay, five. Had a spoonful of peanut butter and veggie soup for lunch. May do the same for dinner.

Today was a 3.5 because I struggled all day with eating. I ate Cottage cheese (100 cals), 100 cal bag of popcorn, Lean Cuisine Salisbury steak & mashed potatoes and drank hot tea all day. I measured 1% milk to put in my tea (110 cals). 550 calories later and I'd love to eat more! I really hate these DD's!!!!
On top of this, I'm nervous about the rain and high winds we're going to have tomorrow thru Wednesday. I hope I can atleast take my granddaughter to the nursing home for halloween. Too cold & rainy for her to be outdoors. Shes almost 17 months old, so just a baby.

Tammy--I think you ought to avoid carbs early in the day on your DD's--stick with protein or maybe a little butter or coconut oil in your tea/coffee. Really, it seems to make a big difference with how much I struggle.

Good DD so far -5. It has been a complete fast fueled by the UUAD of yesterday. If I have electricity I might have some broth later but will hold out until I get uncomfortable.

I'm at a 2. Not hungry, but want to stress eat. I had my morning fat, and then gave in a bit and had some chicken thighs that were leftovers.

I think I need to stop watching the news, they are freaking me out.

Yes- switch it off for a while- we are watching a Law and Order marrathon. Are these on all the time? I thought these marrathons were just on holidays. You can see I rarely see daytime TV.

Physically a 3 for me; mentally a 5. Have been hungry since I woke up but haven't given in despite (& I am pleased with myself for this) attending a birthday party with delicious chocolate cake. Last week I also had one very hungry day and coincidentally had also had wine & chocolate the night b4. Should I blame the wine OR the chocolate or (preferably!) neither??

Woke up with an awful sinus infection and sore throat. I haven't felt like eating a single thing and even drinking water hurts. Trying to sip seltzer water though and will toss an electrolyte packet in it. I don't know if I should rate this a 1 or a 5.

So sorry you're sick, Vilanteira! It sounds miserable. Take care of yourself.

I think I may actually be at a 5 today (so far). I haven't had one calorie yet today, which is the first time I've gone w/o having my coffee and HWC, or BPC in the morning. Just iced tea for me so far, and it's after 2:00 pm. I don't feel hungry, just that pleasant, empty feeling.

I am, however, having a major case of the DD shivers today. This is the worst I've had them so far. I prefer to feel cold rather than hot, so it's okay with me. I hope this means I'm burning, burning, burning those fat cells away!

Thank you, Janette and LCG. I'm glad you're both having good DDs. Every time I have a good DD, it reminds me how much I enjoy this woe and keeps me going.

LCG, I used to get those DD shivers really badly just before a woosh.

Hey Shari
My DH just joined me on JUDDD at the start of October... I think he needed hear me talk about this since April, see my progress, and also the freedom that comes with it. I had him read the website (rather than totally take everything I say about it) and he's read some but not all of the book

Needless to say, he's lost 16lbs already men !

I did the numbers for him, and helped with lunches (he does shakes for breakfast) and of course I mostly make dinners... I'm hoping after our vacation, he takes over making his lunches...

THe "every other day" mentality is a big thing, and DH didn't want to count calories, but it's not that hard (he's a techie, so we got him hooked up with some apps) so, I'll say so far, so good

S.
