I am experimenting again. I made raw goat milk yogurt last night and I am straining it today to see if I can the Greek yogurt consistency. I haven't made yogurt in many many years even with all the milk my goats produce. Course it will be an UD meal since I will have to guestimate calories. Here's hoping it turns out nicely.

I got my gallon bucket of organic coconut oil out to make some bark and it is almost empty. I better start watching the sale emails so I can stock up again at a good price.

Hi, and Happy September.

I, too, have coconut oil news.

Today found a new display of Nutiva, 29-ounce, at Wal Mart. $20.88.

Thought it might be helpful for someone to know that it could be heading to large chains near them as well, now.

Also for the first time saw the dual packs of 100-cal cottage cheese and fruit that someone here - was it Zipp? - enjoys. Picked up the strawberry one to try. This was also at Wal Mart, a surprise since most new or diet-conscious items are found at our nicer grocery first, then make their way to Wal Mart after a long time.

Yes, 3-day weekend. Maybe will give time to get enough clothes washed to be ready for next week's school days! I was woefully behind by Friday of this past week.

Great September to you all!

I see right here that the 29 oz Nutiva is $16.99 for the 29 oz size. I bought 3 - 16 oz jars of another brand for about $25.

Yes, yes a 3 day weekend is here in Wisconsin. You should see the traffic!

Have a great one all you JUDD people!

Yup... 3 day weekend.
Our Walmart doesn't really have groceries. Just a small refridgerated section for milk and eggs.
We just had an H-Mart open. I love that place. The produce is awesome!

Now I know why Greek yogurt is so expensive. The longer I drain my yogurt, the thicker it gets and the less I have. My half gallon of milk is down to about a pint of really nice, thick yogurt. I did not realize how much whey is still in my Dannon yogurt I guess since I have never drained storebought. But experiment was successful.

We don't have a grocery store in our local WalMart ewither. Last summer they put in a cooler section with mostly beer, eggs and dairy along with some processed sausages and hotdogs.

H-Mart is the coolest, biggest, "high end", Asian Grocery Market. It is the size of a regular Super Stop and Shop or other really big chain super market but it primarily only carries Asian brands, amazingly fresh produce and typically difficult to find produce as well as awesomly fresh meat and seafood as well as a bakery. It has all the awesome Korean salads that we usually get in NYC and stuff that I would normally have to go to China town to get and then trek it back on the train. They have eggs, dairy, yogurt, etc... as well as stuff like laundry detergent, but that stuff is kind of overpriced and I'm good with American soap They have a cosmetic shop with in the store too, but I haven't ventured in yet. There is lots of good DD things even though at this point I usually just fast.

We have a couple of H Marts in Vancouver, but we usually shop at TnT. That is another asian grocery chain, I'm not sure if it exists outside of Canada. My boyfriend is half Japanese and prefers to cook (and eat) asian foods. Lucky for me, I love asian food and many of our favorite foods can be adapted to fit in to down days.

Hey guys, just popping in to subscribe to the thread but want to thank whomever mentioned a wasabi dressing they sometimes got...got to thinking about it and had some roasted sprouts I wanted to eat so threw a bit of wasabi into my ranch dressing and really enjoyed them. So thanks for the idea; I think that's the greatest thing about this forum, the wonderful ideas we all share.

I'm retired, so I have a seven-day weekend and if you think your traffic is bad, check out the I-15 on the way from Los Angeles to Las Vegas...even highway 60 which is in my town will be stop and go Monday with everyone returning from the desert and the river.

Enjoy your holiday and I sure hope you'll share your menus..my vicarious joy.

Yes...having a 3 day weekend here also...I I NEED it! lol

No fancy stores here....just a Super WalMart...which isn't so super! I don't go there unless I absolutely have to!

We don't have a lot of traffic going thru either so it will be quiet here.

I am so glad it is getting cooler and Summer is winding down...I am looking forward to vacation in October. My daughter and family lives in TX and we will be going there in October...and I can enjoy Summer temps again. We haven't been for 2 years so I am really looking forward to it. And I am looking forward to fitting in the airline seats a little easier too!

Thanks everyone for all your input and knowledge...it is really appreciated!

We have a couple of Super-Walmarts. I don't go too often since we have several other stores that are much closer. But they are cheaper, so I may start scheduling some trips there.
My rotations are so messed up! I'm in WI visiting relatives, and between the County Fair and my cousin's birthday I'm way off track. I'm just going to start over tomorrow with a DD. It doesn't help that the scale up here is useless.

Happy Labor Day everyone!

We went out of town for the weekend and got back last night. Saturday was an UD, but then I was sick all night, so I made yesterday a FD. Uh, I guess it turned into an UUAD, as I had over 2500 calories, best I can estimate. No fear, JUDDD to the rescue. I'll have a nice DD today and not stress over it.

Keira lost a tooth. She has had a wiggly tooth for a long, long time, which just happened to decide to come out at a restaurant on vacation. She tends to lose teeth on holidays too, making the tooth fairy fight traffic to come visit! Once, the tooth came out on New Year's Eve. We told her that the tooth fairy might be upset about having to come out with all the drunks, but then the tooth fairy ended up DOUBLING her usual amount, so apparently it's a good thing to lose teeth on holidays. She's testing the theory this weekend.

No, I'm in Lake Geneva, in Walworth County. I'm not really a fair-goer usually, but my cousin was in the singing contest (she didn't win, boo!)

I'm way north of you, we are having hot weather today - 91 at the moment and just too hot to get my daily walk in. Enjoy Wisconsin

It's about 85 here today, warm but not too bad. I used to come up to escape the heat in Cincinnati, but this summer WI was as hot, or hotter, than OH!
Took my cousin to lunch today for her birthday, which sort of shot my idea of making today a DD. I've been doing a lot of walking, hopefully that will offset some of the extra calories. And we're cleaning out the basement and garage.

did ok with a DD at the beach with my 16 yr old son and 7 friends (BF and I each took a car). a little over on cals, but hey... did not eat chips or fries, etc.

indeed, had veggies, a little fruit, a protein shake, and about half a Greek salad with chicken breast, est. to be around 750 cals.

I am glad I didn't just say screw it and pig out... I know I could have had a MD, but I want to keep my alternating as best I can.

now I just need a little bowel action (2nd day without... after 3 episodes of the trots last week, week one... )

Can I ask any kind of random question in this thread? (Not JUDDD related at all?)

Does anyone know if in the 80's the waist size of jeans was the actual size they measure? For example if I measure a pair of jeans and they measure 24 inches would the tag have said 24 too? Not like todays jeans which can say a 24 on the tag but actually measure 26 (or even more in some brands).

I found some clothes at my parents and the tags are either cut out or washed out so we were trying to figure out what size they were then. I was a teen in the late 80's but weight wasn't an issue/anything I obsessed over so I truly have no idea what size these clothes were by looking at them. (Skin/hair were my 'issues'). I mean I know that in general I wore 5/6's but I don't remember how the waist measurement/tag thing was then. I used a pair of Guess jeans from then as my goal jeans but they aren't still tagged either. Just knew I wanted to be able to say I could still wear jeans from high school. (Y'all remember those high waisted skinny jeans - no way I'd ever wear them in public now but they made a great goal target)

I'm in 2/4's today. I didn't care if any of this stuff we found over the weekend fit or not but I did try some of it on. Some of it fit and all of it looked ridiculous.

Yep! You're right...back in the 80's sizes ran true....a 24 inch waist was a 24 inch waist and a size 10 or 12 (for example) was the same no matter the brand...I think it was haute courtier (sp) that started changing things. I had a size 8 name brand suit when I wore size 10. That said, I do think it was in the 80's when sizes started changing, tho'.

I found my measuring pants today, too. Going thru some stuff, I found a pair of jeans I used to wear lo' those many years ago, most likely in the early 90's, late 80's....waisted skinny jeans...in a size 18 and they're about an inch too small in the waist. I've been wearing today's size 18 all the time so had to laugh when I saw the size of these jeans.

Hope this helps...save the clothes for a costume party...or sell to a vintage clothing store if there's one in your area.

Okay, who has the whoosh fairy chained up

Whoever has the whoosh fairy chained up, please let it go... I'm not going to use the "s" word (stall for those not familiar with it) as it's only been a week or so, but my bounces have even stopped. My weight has remained steady on both up and down days and I'm so used to seeing the bounce that I don't know how to feel about it.

Of course, I know it's just my body adjusting to the new weight..loved the post originally left by Chackley on how the fat cells work, BTW, thanks for posting it...but I'm just not used to the body taking this way of getting back at me as I was so used to two pounds down, one or three pounds up...it's like my weight is just marching in place.

I'd settle for a wh-sh fairy if you can't release the whoosh...

Thanks so much, Mssarge. An 80's theme party is a good idea too. I've done a 50's and a 70's in the past. It always seemed more fun to do an unfamiliar decade but I think it's time to break out the neon spandex.

Funny sizes

Lol. It's called vanity sizing. Many designers and clothing manufacturers do it so people will be loyal to their brand. I just tried on jeans at Maurice's, a local shop. I weigh 171 and my waist is 34", same jeans in a size 11/12 9/10 and 7/8 all fit. Really? a 7/8? come on...that's just silly. lol. Also my sister gave me two pair of jeans from Walmart, size 10-fit perfect. and I'm certain I haven't lost that much weight. Fun facts for the day~

Ooooh No Weigh, look at that number! Whoosh indeed.

Mary, it is strange when the scale just stops in one place. We are such experts and dealing with the bounce, less good at staring at the same figure for so long.
