easy way to figure out JUDD

Hey there-
I am curious about JUDD-but I know you have to "calculate" calories and carbs.
I loved not doing that in the beginning of my weight loss. Any suggestions on doing JUDD easily-really basic guidelines? tips?

I think I need to change things up.

Luca!

WHAT IS JUDDD? COME INSIDE AND SEE!!

No need to give up carbs, but you must count calories! It is based on your numbers that will be easy to figure when you look at the chart by Dr. Johnson on his website, "Johnson Up Day Down Day".

I think Sunday has your question answered. It really is all about calories, so you DO have to count those, but if you use a good online tracker or calorie counter, it's pretty easy to do, and so worth it for all the benefits and weight loss!

Yes, it is about the calories and the spread between them.

According to the book it's fine to only count down days as long as you are losing weight doing that. So that's only every other day, and since it's usually around 500 calories that's not so much to count. No carb counting needed.

If you want to do JUDDD *the easy way* I suggest you spend a little time initially to figure up several choices of foods for your Down Days.

Figure out what meals you're going to want, and how much (measurement) that you can have on your plate to hit the calorie amount you have to stick with.

Once you have figured out what you're going to eat on your Down Days, and how much of it you are going to measure out for yourself, you will never have to do any figuring of calories again. IF, if you never deviate from those menus.

You can do low carb choices, or you can not pay attention to carbs at all and let them fall where they do.. JUDDD doesn't care. JUDDD only cares that you don't go over your calorie count.

If you don't go over on your DDs, you may get away with not counting calories at all on your Up Days. Some folks are lucky this way. If you're not losing weight though..... well, obviously something isn't being worked quite right. LOL

That's about the easiest way I can think of to start JUDDD to see how you like it. Most of us are pretty hungry on our DDs when we first start. Our body is used to EATING a decent quantity of food on all days! But it doesn't take long for your brain to get used to the idea that you won't be eating much on DDs, so it stops signaling for hunger. And after awhile, most of us face little appetite or hunger on our DDs.

I would wholeheartedly second what SoHappy said.

I have 3 or 4 DD meals in my repertoire - I now eat fruit and miso soup during daylight and eat one meal in the evening. But that was after a few weeks of trial and error to find what works for me.

That would be all I would add. Read round here and think about all the possible ways to eat your DD kcals and give them a whirl until you find YOUR way.
