Giving HCG a try, but I'll be back!

I know, I know. I've barely begun JUDDDING. Started July 22, have lost about 6 lbs, depending whether you go by today or a couple days ago, and that's fantastic compared to the plateau I was in before I came here.

But HCG just got me too curious, and I've decided to do a round. I've been working at this for so long, and I fear if I don't speed things up just a little, I'll lose my momentum. My plan is to return to JUDDD for maintenance, and or the last few pounds, as I really do enjoy it (and had some pretty amazing blood work from it).

But the main reason I wanted to post was to say that you guys are truly beyond any group I've found anywhere, and your support has been amazing. I literally felt it in my bones. You were there when I needed you, and I know you'll be there again.

So, for now... but not forever...

If you don't feel well, try to recognize it quickly. I really, really didn't like the way my weight jumped all around either. It might be "just the ticket" for some but since I already was having hormonal upheaval(s), I decided not create a larger storm. I thought, "If it worked as well as people have claimed then.......why so MANY rounds....especially over a period of years!" Read here, on the forum, how many rounds people have had to do and how many times they tend to easily fall off the wagon!

I mean....dayum.....you might as well do WW! It's all about maintenance and to me, if I lost 15 pounds in that short time span but then ended up after that amount of starvation (21 days) and gained half of it back, I would lose more than momentum!

JUDDD is pretty extreme in the "mainstream world" but my internist flat out told me Hcg would likely make me fatter down the road and would not approve it. Think about the rebound. I am a control freak though! Not a risk taker. The more you "mess with" your metabolism, the more you will have problems down the road. I def. had a bad experience with Hcg and wasted money. However, in seven days it DID improve my lipids (I had them tested) but I wouldn't do it again cause that bounced around afterward like my weight did. CHanging your setpoint is much like turning an ocean liner around, or at least that has been my experience. You have to change your relationship (your marriage) with food and your environment and really "learn" and that won't happen in three weeks. JMHO and YMMV! I wish you the best and hope to read a good story....and a lasting one.

And when you're done with HCG, I hope you'll come here to continue your weight management, as so many former HCGers have. We'll be cheering for your success!

Thanks for your concern, Aeroangie. But don't worry. I've done a ton of research. And I changed my eating habits a long time ago, so I'm not planning on going bad to unhealthy ones any time soon. I've read and read and read, and there are definite patterns and pitfalls that seem to cause people to become yo-yo HCGers. Also planning on jumping right back to JUDDD afterward, which most of those multi-rounders don't do.

The issue for me is... if I don't speed things up just a bit (I have lost painfully slowly since February and at times it feels hopeless), I'm going to fall off the wagon anyway!

See you guys soon!

Please check your thyroid Buttah......specifically, ask to be checked for TPO antibodies. Or, go to Healthcheckusa and find out. If you aren't losing, there is almost ALWAYS an underlying medical reason. In my case, it is the reason for the extra pounds I am trying to lose (menopause plus whacky thyroid together!)

I do sincerely hope you succeed but had to share my experience.

All my bloodwork was great, including thyroid. And improved cholesterol and inflamation since JUDDD. And to be fair, I was losing, just very slowly. I am 55. Ain't what it used to be.

We will miss you Buttah. I hope you find HCG a good strategy for quick loss, but then on 500 cals and HCG I guess it has to work.

Come back to us as soon as you finish though. Slimmer and ready for the joy of UDs.

If they only checked TSH and did standard thyroid tests, they will not find TPO antibodies. TSH is not a thyroid hormone. Just sayin!

Aeroangie, you are right, if people think only about "quick" and three weeks is NOT enough time to change a long-term health habit. I have done multiple rounds to lose 100 pounds but they also had nice long protocol-observing breaks in between.

I had lost most of the weight within 12 months and 5 rounds and then went thru menohell. I had a failed round after that until my hormones stabilized.

I understand what you are saying. However, WW was a no-go for me. Along with every other plan I tried. And believe me I tried to my utmost. I hear a little of the disbelief of how MUCH work goes into losing weight with HCG, as if it is magic. It is simple, because of limited food choices, but not easy. For some of us it truly is not about simple calories in-out. Thankfully, JUDDD isn't really about that, either. There is something else at work, even if we must count calories. It appears to have metabolism healing properties. HCG did for me, as well. All my labs also show it. Now after finding JUDDD I feel I have the best of both worlds and some of the most wonderful support I could ever have wished for.

Well, yesterday I had my last HCG injection... for now.

I was around 167-169 when I left JUDDD, and 6 weeks later, I weigh 152. Pretty amazing. And according to my body fat monitor, all but ONE HALF POUND of what I lost was... FAT!!!

My plan is to "stabilize" within 2 lbs for three weeks, as prescribed by both Dr. Simeons and the clinic I did my HCG through. After that, I'll probably be back to JUDDD. (There's a slim possibility I'll wait the prescribed 6 weeks and then do a short HCG round to get to my goal. Haven't decided yet. But if I do that, I will maintain for the entire 6 weeks, as starting HCG right off intermittent fasting, as it turned out, was not easy.)

I've been touting HCG like a broken record over in the HCG forum, but most don't seem to believe there are so many happy JUDDDers. If only they knew.

Anyway, that's my report. I've been peeking in here from time to time, enjoying your posts, and I look forward to "seeing" you all on a regular basis again soon.

xoxoxo

oh buttah, you are so funny I keep on saying I am doing JUDDD once I am done with my P3 too. So there are people over there who DO believe that JUDDD will work I have seen it myself as I did use JUDDD for a while before this last round of hcg. I cannot wait til my P3 is over and I can start to JUDDD again. You have done well on hcg Congratulations on a great round I know you have been touting hcg AND JUDDD---you are a great motivator and I loved our conversations about WLA and hcg and everything. I appreciate your input very much

Dawn, you were one of the HCGers who posted here in JUDDD-ville when I first asked about HCG, so I KNOW you're a fan of both!! And I can't thank you enough for being one of the people who got me to jump into HCG.

@buttah, you're going to think I'm stalking you LOL as I post in your hcg journal and the hcg threads and here. Really, I'm not a stalker but I am interested in seeing you WIN at this weightloss and maintenance and I'm happy for you. People on the hcg forum know I am doing (mostly) JUDDD to maintain. I can't say I'm doing it perfectly, but I believe in the positive aspects of it for sure.

And Marie was brave in doing JUDDD during P3. I thought she was crazy, but she did it!!! And she was very successful too!!! A very brave thing to do. I think I remember her saying she was hungry some of the DDs. Something I don't want to be. Me, I just want to eat LOL. I don't want to restrict right now. In another week or so I will be ready to but not now. I will wait my 3 weeks.

Hard as it was at times, that P3 was the best transition I ever did after hcg. I ended P3 below my LIW, which never has happened to me before.

As it is now, I'm hardly the poster child for P3 and P4, whether JUDDDing or not. I always seem to gain at least 3-5 pounds no matter what as soon as I let up being utterly perfect. I'm just so tired of having to be perfect. But I sure don't want to be *fat* again, either. JUDDD is more relaxing and freeing, but after taking a break from JUDDD due to insomnia, I'm having trouble getting my mojo back and my weight is up. I'm afraid I will have to go back to strict 500 calories but concerned if I do the insomnia will come back. It's so hard to do 500 calories on no sleep! I feel like if I don't sleep then I am dang HUNGRY.

Sorry for the THREADJACK Carry on!

buttah, glad I popped back into the JUDDD forum to see this post before it disappeared. So glad to see that you were successful with your quick weight loss on HCG, and that you are coming back to JUDDD, at least for awhile, to stabilize and maintain your weight the JUDDD way. Happy for your successful weight loss. Congrats!
