Lurker... Can I join?
I have been lurking your menus for a while now and wonder if you mind if I join in? it looks to me like quite a few people try to stay fairly low carb and that's what I need to do. I really would like to combine the concept of JUDDD with Low Carb Paleo and IF to keep my DD low. Am I CRAZY?
I am pretty sure I can stay within the 622 calories the JUDDD calculator recommends, especially if I can "steal" some of your menu ideas at first. |

Welcome and you can do any combination you so desire since it is all about calories.
Dr. J recommends in his book doing 500 calorie DD's for 2 weeks and then drop down to your calc numbers. 622 seems high for 20% weightloss for someone at 162 pounds. The calc has to be reset to inches for height and pounds for weight unless you want the metric. The reason I mentioned it is because 622 is close to my maintenance number I am about ready to start on. |

B - 2 eggs with 1 T SF preserves, coffee with 1 T HWC (210) L - 3 thin slices turkey (Bryan Brand) and pickle spears (85) D - HB egg/mustard (75) this allows for a couple of mugs of broth at 5 calories a mug and/or a few single pickle spears along the way for less than 400 calories a day. And this keeps me happy all day and if I feel hungry I drink a big glass of water. Good luck on your first DD. |

Sooz-- welcome-- fwiw-- I also keep my DD the same more or less, but I stack the calories toward the end:
b: iced tea (usually green), throughout the day water also L: maybe some cheese (not paleo) and veggies of some sort (could you do paleo mayo?) D: chicken or lean meat (lean pork, even lean beef) and veggies-- either coleslaw for a stirfry or a big salad I usually leave room for almond milk and glucomanan fiber powder, which together make a "pudding" that is very low cal, low carb, and filling/satisfying. |

Since I don't usually eat bread ( I have a documented wheat allergy), I just scatter the preserves (jam) over the eggs. I like them this way and it gives a little fruit taste without toast. I have been using Smucker's sugar free preserves and a regional smalltown brand of no sugar added although 1 T of those is 25 calories and the Smucker's is 10 calories. my favorite flavors are the apricot, orange marmalade and then strawberry.

Thanks!
Thanks for the info ladies but I know myself better than to think I can stick to 384 calories every other day without obsessing and ending up in a huge binge!

I also thought that I couldn't do it, but it's been suprisingly easy and effective. Another thought: Many who do JUDDD weren't able to do very low DDs in the beginning and started at between 500 and 800 calories in the beginning and slowly worked their way down. If you want to try it, you could do it that way. If not, good luck with whatever you decide.
