Darn it, I didn't mean to eat that!
I'm trying to stay away from wheat & flour, so no bread, cereal, etc. It's an UD for me and I was 700-800 calories short for the day, so I was poking around in the fridge. There was a small bowl of mac n cheese, which I figured had plenty of calories. I never even considered that the macaroni is made with flour. Now I have a stomach ache.

Jan,
When I am short on calories, I try to find HWC and whip it up with blueberries, walnuts & maybe some cream cheese. Sort of like Blueberry cheesecake. ![]() Nuts and cocoa go great with cream cheese as well. |

Refined carbs are a great way to increase cals on UD. But not if at the cost of a tummy ache! You have my sympathies. Trying to eat UD cals without eating sweets and grains is really hard.
Like Sunday, I prepare hwc/cheese sauces. So on DD I eat my veggies plain and on UD I dress then up. Ditto meats. |

There's some great rice noodles that I use for mac n cheese when I am craving it. Any GF recipe you are looking for, let me know, my DH has probably made it for me! I was diagnosed Celiac back in 2005.
Sorry about the tummy ache! |

It's not really that there was nothing else to eat, it's that I ate without paying attention to what I was actually putting into my mouth. I just need to plan better!

I've done that. Wheat gives me a tummy ache too, and I still find myself eating it sometimes (sometimes on purpose, sometimes without thinking). But I'm also allergic to dairy and eggs. So getting ud cals in can be really challenging at times.
