BEEN AWAY FROM HERE...AND IT'S NOT A PRETTY SIGHT!

I have not been here for about 6 weeks, and can't believe the damage I've done! I have gained back about 6 pounds.: But, that is coming to a screeching halt starting with a good DD tomorrow.

First, my car quit, then my computer went on the blink, and my 95 YO mom has fallen twice in the past month. Thank goodness, no serious damage done, but did have lots of soreness and some bruises. Bless her heart, when you ask her what happened, she says she and my dad (who died nearly 5 years ago), were in a car wreck in her new car (no new car). She has dementia, but still has a sense of humor, and remembers some things, but is losing her memory at a rapid pace just recently.

I plan on getting back on plan tomorrow, starting the rotations with a DD. I've eaten enough today to qualify for 2 UDs! I went to Drug Emporium this afternoon, and found some of the refrigerated noodles, PB2, unsweetened flax milk, waldon farms dressing and mayo, and some glucomannan tablets. They don't have the powder anymore, so I'm going to open the tablets and dump the powder into a shaker to have ready.

I have really missed all of you, and notice that most are doing really well. Lots of weight lost...congrats to all!:

I hope to not be such a stranger from here on! ::

Welcome back Carole! I was wondering how things were going for you. Sounds like you went through a stressful patch there. Glad you are back and I am sure JUDDD will get those pounds back off in no time.

Hi Carole! You know, it would be so easy to let all that craziness totally derail you, but you're back and I can't wait to see how quickly those six pounds disappear (it won't be six weeks, I'm pretty sure) Sorry things have been tough, but good for you for starting your rotations again. The whole not quitting when the going gets rough thing? It's the key, I'm convinced.

Hey Carole! Looks like you and I have done the same thing. I have been back a week and I just eased back into my rotations with no problems and my summer weight came off quickly. I'm sure you will do the same thing.

For some great motivation you might want to watch the BBC horizon video series that another Juddder posted about on here. I watched it on youtube. It is about an hour long and i think I searched BBC horizon intermittent fasting on the you tube site. It is amazing to see how this woe changed how this already fairly thin man looked after 5 weeks. The best part was his blood test results at the end of his "experiment"

You are a Pro at this and you will do great!

Hi Carole!

The program Janet mentions is Horizon Eat, Fast and Live Longer and is on you tube in full, or in 4 quarters to watch. Wonderful.

Carole, I am so with you in concern for family members of that age group and the confusion. ((Hugs)) to you and to your mother. For falls, there are studies that show elderly persons prone to falls do better with addition of more Vitamin D. I hope her bruising gets well soon!

Welcome back, Carole and Janet.

Dear Carole, I am sorry you have been having a rough time this summer. Only 6lbs in 6 weeks is pretty good, I would say that the JUDDD magic was working for you of a lot of that time.

I hope you mother is doing better now. Having lost my FIL at the end of June I feel for you.

You know many of us check on each other when folks 'disappear'. I am a terrible worrier and it is lovely to have you back with us.

Oh, I am so blessed to come here today and see all the warm "welcome backs" that you all have posted. Thank you so much...that means a lot, and goes a long way in my determination to get these "found" pounds off, plus the other ones that I need to lose! This whole forum is a blessing to the internet! :heart

So far, so good today. About 1:00pm, i got a smidgen hungry, so I fixed some southwestern style eggbeaters (40 cals) with some laughing cow chesse (35 cals), and some bacon bits (25cals) and a piece of ( 40 cal) toast. It was just what I needed! Oh, I also had a cup of the flax milk for (25 cals), but sweetened it too much. I will use less sweetener next time. So, for 165 calories, I had a very filling and tasty breakfast/lunch.

So happy to be back! Hope you all have a very good day, be it UD or DD!

Carole

Carole, it sounds like you have thrown yourself back into JUDDD with wild enthusiasm. Welcome back!!

I have been wondering if you were alright. Glad things are not as bad as they could have been. Congratulations on - realistically speaking - holding your own in such a stressful time.

SO sorry about your Mother's falls. My Mother, 86, is sinking deeper and deeper into dementia. She is kind of cute - in a poignant, wistful way - when she explains something she feels she should understand/remember ... but does not.

Kissa, so sorry to hear about your DFIL. When my computer crashed back the first of July, it seems I read that he was doing good, and had moved into his own apt, and was still driving himself places. Life is so fragile!

Gotsomeold, my mom is like yours, funny when trying to remember things. She will even ask "why can't I remember?". She can remember that my husband is gone (22 years), but can't remember that my dad is (5 years). She knows that I am her daughter, but thinks I am my sisters (her other daughter) aunt! This part just started this week.

Anyway, I hope following Juddd, that we are in some way preventing this in ourselves, or at least diminishing the worst of it!

Welcome back. Honestly, I could do a lot more damage in 6 weeks. I think you're in a good place and you're proving that it's just returning and consistency that is what's going to do the trick. None of us can promise never to fall off the wagon. But we can all promise to get back on.

I knew I'd been missing someone!!! Glad your mom is better.

I've been a whiny butt lately not being able to lose anything while recovering from my surgery. I'm back into it today as I'd love to get back to my May low before we go on vacation in a few weeks.

Welcome back and let's kick some JUDDD booty!!

THANKS to all my JUDDD Budds for the very warm welcome back. I feel like I've come home! I will weigh in again after my 3rd DD and report back. Even if all 6 pounds aren't gone, I know I will just feel better, physically and mentally. How could I not, with all the healing going on in my body. I even went last Thursday and applied for a job as a parttime checker at a grocery store down the road from me. Found out this morning that I got the job! Just 6 0r 8 months ago, I could not have even thought of doing this, because I don't think I could have stood for any length of time. Now, I don't have trouble with that, even though I have not lost "that many pounds"! Again, the healing process of JUDDD. By the way, at 69, I thought they would think I was too old, but I guess that wasn't the case! JUDDD and all my buddds!

Carole

Just realized, I will be 70 a month from today....EEK!!!
