Anybody get a little dizzy on the down days?

I experienced this twice today (my second down day) -- once while at the eye doctor with my husband, then again several hours later when I got home from picking the kids up at school. It only lasted a few seconds -- and wasn't horrible vertigo or anything like that. Just a little weird dizzy feeling that passed very quickly. Just wondered if anyone else had anything like this on their first few DD's?

What were you doing when you felt dizzy? I don't experience it on down days, but if I stand too quickly I will even on a good day...

I do. Especially in the mornings right after I get up. I would attribute it to JUDDD, but I've always had dizzy spells relatively regularly. and I HATE it!

A lot of people experience weird stuff their first 2 DDs, and then the 3rd one is much easier.

If it continues, you may need more electrolytes or something.

I did at the beginning, but it went away for me. It did last for a week or more if I remember correctly, but now I typically feel great on DDs.

I agree with PJ on the electrolytes. I have vertigo so sometimes it's hard to differentiate between the vertigo and electrolyte imbalance, but you could try a couple of cups of broth spread out over your DDs to help.

I had dizziness for about 2 weeks on DDs. I was SO unbelievably hungry. Then, about 1/2 way through the 3rd week, the dizziness and the unbearable hunger on DDs went away.

I get random drops in my blood pressure, and always have. Fasting can exacerbate them for sure, as can rapid weight loss. When I was younger I could associate with standing up or a rapid change into a hot environment (I don't temperature adjust to hot well at all). Now that I am older it even happens just sitting in a chair reading a book. Maybe I am just way more aware of my body with age?
Doctor's trick to cope with this in the moment is to cross your legs at the thigh and wrap calves tightly together and clench hard, hold for about a count of twenty while BREATHING. Lightheadedness mostly happens when your blood vessels dilate out and the above move will help your body push blood back upstairs where you need it.

Not saying you shouldn't get checked by a doc if this is a new symptom that persists. Know thyself and manage thy own medical care!

Yep, just tried this trick and realized I still need to lose about 20 pounds before I'll ever be able to wrap my calves tightly together!

Seriously though, I've heard of that before, and always forget about it when I'm dizzy. I need to try my modified wrapping next time I have a dizzy spell.

I have found that for me.. its kind of a low blood sugar hypoglocemia thing.. so i grab some food and will feel much better.. Good luck hun.. and just listen to what your body is saying to you.. and if its to bad.. then seeing your Doc anit bad idea either

Yes, I have been dizzy on down days. But I also am on high blood pressure medication that probably needs tinkering, so I'm not the best gauge.

I had it on my very first one, and not since--- not even on a DD after a vacation. But it was CRAZY on that first one! Every time I got up, WOOOOOO and sit back down for a minute.
It goes away, and the tips above sound great. Also, if you're not eating at all, or waiting for just 1 big meal, consider spacing out the food and having a little something a few times a day instead.

Ok, guys -- well, I feel better that I'm not the only one that this has happened to. It actually wasn't that bad at all -- I wasn't worried about fainting or anything. And, I do believe I had just stood up from having been seated, so that might explain a lot as well. Thanks for the input!
