And now to panic about UD calories...

Ok, guys -- so I just consulted the calculator and saw that my UD calories are 2400. Really?!? Uh, I didn't realize they were that high! I thought, like, 1800 or so... So, my question is... lol... do you really eat all that? Is it essential? Really aim for 2400? Sorry for the total newbness... lol

Hopefully you will get lots of input on this. I know opinions vary and to some extent, you just have to experiment and find out what is right for you.

I'm of the opinion you shouldn't stuff yourself to over-fullness or eat junk just to get all your calories in. Try to eat close to your UD calories, but do not stress if you fall a couple of hundred short.

If you feel satisfied, don't binge just to get it all in. After 2 weeks, see how you feel. Take your measurements and see if you have lost any inches. Measure in unusual places like under your bust and under your armpits. For me, this showed a great and fast loss of fat -- especially that unwanted back fat that gave me "back cleavage".

If you are losing weight by eating sensibly on up days without stuffing yourself, continue doing what you are doing.

And, feel free to ask away! I know all the JUDD BUDDs love helping out newbies!

I started at 500/2000 and I have noticed over the months that others have don2 this too. Now I can easily eat 2400 calories so I sure wish my calories allowed were that high. But the book says to eat to satisfaction so no you don't have to eat that high if you feel full. I am one that NEVER has had a problem eating on UD's BUT I am super diligent on DD's and have never gone over 500 and mainly ate at 350 calories after the first two weeks.

Great answers so far!

Here's a thread where we discussed this:
What Dr Johnson says about UD calories

PS--did you enter exercise?
I ask because I am about 50lbs heavier than you & my calories are around 2400.
Of course, you may be much younger and/or taller than me!
Try "little to no exercise" and see if the calories seem more reasonable.
Good luck!
