Lower Calorie Frozen Dinners for DD
I like to keep these on hand for DD lunches sometimes or when I just don't feel like cooking a DD dinner. Someone had mentioned on another thread about some lower cal Lean Cuisines.
I found these today and I didn't do a real thorough search since I don't eat too many of these but here is what I got: Lean Cuisine Herb Roasted Chicken - 170 calories Lean Cuisine Steak Tips Portabello - 160 calories Healthy Choice Rosemary Chicken and Sweet Potatoes - 180 calories Healthy Choice Lemon Herb Chicken - 200 calories |

Where do you buy the Amy's brand Dottie? I have never seen it here.
Thanks! |

I am planning my first ever field trip to Trader Joe's next weekend. A new one opened up 45 minutes away. Putting that on my list! Thanks Ouizoid!

Do you need a microwave to make these frozen meals? Or can you do it in a toaster oven/normal oven?
Oh I just went to trader joes for the first time since I started JUDDD and I really worked the place over looking for low calorie down day stuff. - sun dried tomato chicken sausages for 110 cals each - absolutely enormous peice of frozen haddock for 200 cals - best price on laughing cow cheese However after I left I googled "trader joes low calorie" and found two more things I gotta check out: the mahi mahi burgers and the queso dip is suposedly surpisingly low cal.

Trader Joe's frozen shrimp and vegetable stirfry is a must have for me. The entire package (a large amount) is only 175 calories.

Amy's? Yes it's really good! I add a bag of miracle rice and a little water to a whole can - 200 calories and very filling.

Hey, Laura. Would that be the new Fort Worth store you're going to? I haven't gotten over there yet, but I must make the effort soon.

Laurie -
YES! That's the one I'm going to hit. I tried a few weeks ago when I was in Fort Worth doing some family visiting but it was PACKED and there is construction in front of the store which made it all a bit of a nightmare. I decided this next weekend I'm going to get up early and be there when it opens. Long list in hand and an ice chest in the car! |

South would have been lovely for me coming from Midlothian. I guess they wanted a trendier location. But dang it, I have money, too! LOL!
I cannot even imagine escorting a funeral through there! Ack indeed! |

The thread seems to mostly focus on whether you like Marmite or not (most of us do!). There is another thread - but it's so old - I can't find it. I'll see if I can get Kissa (my Mum) to link to it - or bump it - she probably has it stored somewhere.

And I live so far (Only 60 miles ) from Austin that we have nothing but a medium sized grocery store and a tiny Wal-Mart. I used to always hit the Whole Foods and Trader Joe's etc when I would go to a conference in Austin. My co-workers thought I was nuts. ![]() I haven't tried any frozen dinners for DD's though. I will have to chek into some for backup purposes.

I like to use Tyson Grilled Chicken Strips. 100 for 3 oz. I usually will have my main meal with 6 oz chicken, lots of romaine Walden farms and salsa. Yummy and filling for around 230 calories. Hi Ellgee!!

Hey Blonde!
Adi - what a small world, indeed! My daughter graduated in 2008 and her class was about 400 and my son graduated last year and his class was about 540. Times have changed in old Midlo, huh? Being so far from the Trader Joe's is why I'm planning to make a trip of it and buy a BUNCH of stuff. I've heard about some wonderful products and I'm just grateful I have one that close. |

OH boy!!!
Trader Joes finally came!!! My daughter lives in Ft. Worth and I can't wait to go visit and see TJ's! ![]() She works DT @ Ft.Worth Harris Methodist, as a Lactation Consultant & hubby is an attorney Downtown Ft. Worth. Love that city. They are wanting to sell and move to Aledo and then commute. Not sure about it, but because of the school system. Dottie, The Amy's brands are excellent and I find them at my local Homeland store as well as Natural Grocers. ![]() |

Sunday, I haven't tried that Healthy Choice meal yet but it never occurred to me to stretch it with miracle noodles for two meals. Great idea!
I am sooooo excited to get to Trader Joes. Rain is in the forecast. Hope it's not too bad. We need it but I need to get to Trader Joes more! |
