Haha, the experiment died a premature death. I like to have a real (little) meal at night, and 30 calories an hour wasn't going to do it. It's fine at work, but really prefer just having a tiny meal of about 50-60 cals at lunch (or nothing), then a 150-200 cal dinner. I think it might help newbies a lot though.

I picked up pumpkin puree because the shake sounds so good! I don't have sf maple syrup so I'll try adding stevia and vanilla with pumpkin pie spices.

I found LF Hebrew National dogs at 45 calories a piece. My plan is to wrap one in a lettuce leaf and dip it in mustard for a few mini meals.

The cabbage skillet thingie has been taunting me so I'll whip up a batch and portion it out. For my schedule I'll do 10 mini meals at roughly 48.5 calories each. I try not to eat past 7:00, so last mini meal will be around 6:30.

I really like the concept of this. It reminds me of when I quit smoking. I allowed myself a few hours at a time; if I could make it to the next hour or so then I'd reassess and convince myself to remain calm and go another hour or so. Tough habit to break. I'm 15 years smoke free!!!

Sorry to veer off topic...

ONE MEAL AN HOUR

When should one start. I don't eat on a DD until I absolutely have to.
How many hours?

Thank you, Barbo!! And congratulations going out to you as well!!

With my work schedule I opted to try 10 mini meals which I'll start at 8:30 a.m. and end by 6:30. I don't like eating too late so this should work just fine.

So I decided to try this today - and now I'm the crazy lady walking around with a purse full of turkey bacon!

It went well, though I didn't eat on the hour as planned. Still, I felt much better than I usually do on DDs today! Woot!

Thanks to Pat for coming up with this fabulous plan for DDs, and to everyone else who's contributed to this thread...Such creative thinkers here!

Hi I'm not doing JUDD right now, but I love this WOE. I applied this concept for hcg that I'm currently doing. I'm staying at 500 calories and eating from 9:30-7:30 pm. Here is what I am eating.

(51) 1. 9:30 – 3 egg whites with hot sauce (51)
(50) 2. 10:30 – ½ cup strawberries, (25) ¼ cup SF Jello (5) 2 Tabs. SF yogurt (20)
(45) 3. 11:30 – 2 oz of lettuce (10) 1 oz chicken (35) Walden F Balsamic Pear (yummy)
(27) 4. 12:30 - 2 cups chicken broth (10) 1 egg white (17)
(40.5) 5. 1:30 - 3.5 oz celery (14), 3.5 oz cucumber (14) , 2.5 oz grape tomatoes (12.5)
(51) 6. 2:30 – 3 egg whites boiled
(45) 7. 3:30 - 2 oz of lettuce (10) 1 oz chicken (35) Walden F sesame ginger dressing
(50) 8. 4:30 - 20 fat free pretzel sticks (50)
(40.5) 9. 5:30 - 3.5 oz celery (14), 3.5 oz cucumber (14) , 2.5 oz grape tomatoes (12.5)
(50) 10. 6:30 - 3 oz of lettuce (15) 1 oz chicken (35) Walden Farms dressing
(50) 11. 7:30 – ½ cup strawberries, (25) ¼ cup sugar free Jello (5) 2 Tabs. SF yogurt (20)
When I get to maintaining my weight I will gladly switch to JUDD

In Arizona, I find them at Krogers (Frys) and Sprouts farmers market. You can get them online from Netrition.com and they ship quickly. I just love the White balsamic pear dressing, and I just add a little more white balsamic to it to lessen the sweet. Do try them, my faves are the pear one, Zesty Italian, Sesame Ginger and the Chipoltle ranch

Well I just found this thread today, quite interesting. I can see after all this posting that this certainly sounds like a good plan. Even for someone who isn't doing the JUDDD plan, the DD of low calories combined w/ low carb (for diabetics) would be just the thing to jump start a weight loss stall.

If anyone wants to post what their 35 cal mini meals are, I'm sure readers would appreciate the info, gives us a place to start.

Hi. The recipe is on the first page of this thread in #3 post. I had to change mine just a wee bit because I didn't have any sf syrup.

thks Sharkini, I must have missed it. And I do now see where there is a place for DD recipes. Even though I've been on this site for quite awhile, I'm still finding "new stuff".

I always buy mine from netrition since they have a huge selection. A lot of grocery stores have a couple flavors.

Wow cool everyone! LOL on bacon lady!

So we all know what works for us...but I was a feeling a bit adventurous today...

It's not really (every hour on the hour). But here's my plan. So far, have only had one mini-meal at noon:

Noon: Quick Pumpkin Cup-O-Soup (49)

2pm: 2 ribs celery (13)
2 tbsp. Central Market Traditional Hummus (60)
1 wedge Sonoma Jack Lite Garlic & Herb Cheese (25)

4pm: Quick Spinach Mushroom Pumpkin Cup-O-Soup (48)

5pm: Wasa Crisp n Light Cracker (23)
1 oz Oscar Mayer DeliFresh Ham (25)
1 wedge Sonoma Jack Lite Swiss Cheese (25)

7pm: 8fl ounces Hot n Spicy V-8 (35)

8pm: Dinner
2/3c All Whites Egg Whites (100)
2c Tri-Colored Cabbage Mix (20)
2tbsp SQC Tostito's Brand (40)
1/4c Red Onion (15)
1/8c Red Bell Pepper (6)
1/8c Mushrooms, cooked (10)
1c Baby Spinach (5)
2tbsp Mrs. Renfro's Green Salsa (10)

10PM: 1 serving Sugar Free Jell-O (10)

Total for day: 519 (These numbers are off a little bit due to rounding. In Mastercook, here is the daily total.)

501 Calories; 11g Fat (18.6% calories from fat); 45g Protein; 62g Carbohydrate; 20g Dietary Fiber; 24mg Cholesterol; 3220mg Sodium; 42g Net Carbs.

The sodium numbers look gruesome because of all the products being used today but I won't worry my little head about that and will see what happens on the scale. I kinda doubt I will be hungry enough for all of this food!

I've been looking in the regular salad dressing aisle but that's not where my grocery store stocks it! I found it in the diabetic specialty food section - five different flavors plus bbq sauce, ketchup, chocolate syrup and maple pancake syrup too. Woohoo!!

I have found the pumpkin smoothie to be a good appetite suppressant on my UDs. I often eat anyway, but I really don't have any hunger, so tomorrow I'm going to try one in the morning with WF maple syrup instead of Splenda/Brown Sugar mix that I use on UDs (it's the bomb!). I also forgot to buy Almond Milk, so I'll do a 1/2 cup of whole milk (all I have--BF's staple), and 1/3 can of pumpkin--110 cals.

It keeps me very satisfied. I made one with a splash of half and half for my 12 year old son and he loved it! DH puts frozen berries in his. Yep, we're hooked. LoL
