DD Thursday...What are you eating?

Thought I'd start one since I don't see it.

Today is a weird day, we are going to visit his parents up north for the weekend, so we leave today around 4pm. I know his mom is making dinner, so I have to eat, but it will be late, so I won't/can't eat much anyway. I think she's making mexican food and plum upside down cake.

I will also have 1/2 slice meatloaf, and a small serving of green beans, carrots, and mashed squash/potatoes for a late lunch.

I've had wine on a DD, but the cake will be difficult. It is going to be like a 2 bite piece, I'm sure. It will be late though, so I might refuse altogether.

Never heard of plum upside down cake. My mom used to bake a wonderful pineapple upside down cake, one of the few things she used to make from scratch.

I think I've got a wheat sensitivity developing (or just reoccurring) so my idea of nibbling on peanut butter & crackers all afternoon won't work. Which is a shame because I did so well with it Tuesday. So this is what today's menu looks like:

Morning-Coffee with SF syrup 15

L-Blueberry FF Greek yogurt-130

S-Lettuce with a sliced Roma tomato

D-Eggbeaters with tomato 110

S-Can of green beans (extremely filling)

Typically on DD's I've gone for volume, but I think I'm starting to see that my trend of the best DD's seem to be richer in fat or protein than bulk. Still looking for that magic combination:

B. Mint Tea (0 Cal)
L. Fage Fat Free Greek Yogurt with Monin White Chocolate Syrup (100 cal)
D. Grilled Tilapia on cauliflower mash (or arugula salad) (@400)

The Greek Yogurt was delicious and I feel like it'll stay with me a while, so we'll see! It's just gotta get me to 6:30pm.

Same recipe, you just cut up plums for the "top." She's done it with peaches too. It is wonderful.

I find the same thing to be true for me. Try adding like 3 crushed up macadamias or 6 almonds into your yogurt (or on the side). It doesn't seem like much, I know, but that little fat works to satiate. Sometimes, I'll add some fruit too, depending on the carb count of the yogurt. It's weird, but that balance of macronutrients helps me. I hope you figure out what works for you!

I think the SIRT1 might have finally kicked in, or I've figured out the right foods to eat on DD. It's almost 7pm, and I've had about 300 calories and I don't feel like gnawing my arm off, lol.

Decided on Subway for dinner: turkey/ham salad (110) with WF dressing at home. I had broth earlier (5), so total for the day = 340.

B: 2 Cups of Coffee w/SF French Vanilla Creamer + EZ Sweet (70 Cals)
L: 1 Slice Turkey Deli Meat + 1 Slice Ham Deli Meat + 1 Baby Bel Light Cheese & 1 Cup of Chicken Broth (120 Cals)

D: Ready Pac Meditteranean Salad (180 Cals)
S: Kirkland Dried Fuji Apples (35 Cals)

I'm still trying to figure out my magic DD menu. Sometimes it's better if I skip eating during lunch and wait till dinner but the best thing for my dinners have been either the Ready Pac salads I get (prepackaged) from Albertsons or Greek Yogurt w/fruit mixed in. All I am ever certain of is what I will be having for breakfast...coffee!!
