Very interesting about the Evolution vs 10 in 10. Is the ab work more focused on lower as well as upper abs? That's one weakness I see in Callanetics, is the lack of focus on the upper body and lower abs, aside from that killer triceps thingy, which by the way I really hope will help firm that floppy arm thing I have going!

Yes to both. There's a move where you're sitting down, legs bent in front, leaning backwards and waving your arms around...killer on the lower abs. Plus there's a couple moves that mimic pushups, toning the upper body. I really do think Evolution is great!

I do miss the long stretches--but they shouldn't be making you sore, if they are, you may be overdoing them. The stretching should not be painful. IME.
Maybe I'm not working hard enough on the Evolution. And on the stretching, I think I did overdo it the night before I had the soreness. I'll wait and do the 10 in 10 and do a comparison. Can't wait to get it!!!

Got my 10-10 in the mail today. I would start today except I did 60 minutes of water aerobics this morning and probably shouldn't do another 60 minutes of anything ---- unless it just drives me crazy sitting there waiting for me!!

If not today, tomorrow morning!

My ambitious week for Callanetics didn't happen, due to a really busy week. I got my workout in Monday and Tuesday, so met my minimum twice a week goal. I'm happy I was able to do that. I'm feeling good, stronger from the Callanetics and that feels great!

I won't try and get a workout in this weekend. I'm going to try to work in some stretching and deep breathing. That back at it next week!

Arlene, I'm anxious to hear what you think of 10 in 10! Have you watched it yet? I watched it all the way through before I tried to do the workout and I think it helped me know what to expect. Plus, it's really funny to see their 80's clothes and hair!

Hi LCG -- didn't do over the weekend. Too lazy

I did do some moves while I was watching tv and football. But this morning, talked myself into doing the 10-in-10. Very impressive. I like it! I definitely could NOT do the entire thing or stretch/move the way she did, but a little at a time. One thing for sure, it didn't seem like an hour.

So, that gives me 1 evolution and 1 10-in-10. I really need to start doing it at least every day that I'm not in the water.

Hope you're doing well. Did you take measurement? (I'm sure you said somewhere) Well, off to do errands!

I'm glad you like the 10 in 10 Arlene! I love it! I'm going to do another hour today for sure. I'm happy to get 2 of them in per week. It has slowed my losses, but it's okay, as long as that doesn't last.

I did measure on 12/31/12, and started 10 in 10 on 1/3/13. I'll probably measure when I get hour 10 in, or early in Feb. I'm already in a smaller jeans, so I know it's working!

OK - after doing both twice, the Evolution, at least the abs part is definitely harder and after doing this morning, my legs were wobby also!!

This move is awesome. My abs are in such need of this. Never did get rid of the pregnancy flab.

Thanks for your assistance on this.

LCG - I'm thinking I like Evolution a bit better even tho I do many of the 10-in 10 moves on their own, like the pelvic rotation. Feels like I really get a workout after doing either one!

Done a total of 4 hours. Think I start my recount for February and shoot for more. Have to think about how many!

I haven't been doing Callanetics per se for a couple of weeks, but I'm doing the standing leg work nearly every day in the kitchen while I wait for water for my tea to boil, or in the bathroom waiting for the shower to heat up, or whatever. I'm really seeing and feeling the difference in my legs.

Now if I could just do the abs exercises so often or so easily...

That's a good way to work it in. Hmmm, working in the abs could be a bit more difficult!

That's so smart! I'm going to steal that idea. Thanks Luna!

I did them tonight while watching some TV - used the back of the chair to do the pelvic thingys and worked the hips and thights on the floor. Once you learn the moves you can do them anywhere. I could only do the ones I remembered.

Loving callanetics!
