Yes, I did hour 3 yesterday. I managed to do all the stomach exercises w/o a break, although I must say my torso is not as far off the ground as they show in the video, and I do have to support my neck through about half of them. Still progress though! I love how it makes me feel, and last night in bed I rested my arm along my side, and I felt a firmish butt muscle under there!
Right now I'm shooting for doing it twice a week, minimum, but every other day would be ideal. How are you doing yours? Luna, I agree, that outfit sounds so cute, and it's great motivation to keep doing this!

WOW -- it sounds like you guys are doing soooo well.
![]() I got two dvds in the mail today: Beginning Callanetics and Evolution. Will start the beginning tomorrow as I already did 60 minutes of water aerobics this morning. Arms and back are a bit sore. I will watch them today to see if I remember anything from before - have a feeling that my mind may remember but my body won't ![]() I will need to remember what you all are saying about not losing weight while exercising. I took my measurements the end of December - so looking forward to some skinny jeans!!!

I just did the beginners dvd -- basically learning some of the movements. I AM SO OUT OF SHAPE...
I couldn't do any of the moves very well, actually, not at all!!! I watched the Evolution dvd and after trying to do the beginners, I'm kinda scared!! Any idea where to get the 10 in 10? Amazon, last check, only had the VHS and I can't use that. Sounds like most of you are doing it so I'd like to get it too. Thanks |

Arlene, I got my 10 in 10 from Amazon, on DVD. That was back in September. Maybe Ebay might have a listing. Collage video also probably has it. Good luck!
Keep at the movements. They do start to get doable if you keep trying. There's one part in 10 in 10 where you have to lift your leg 3 inches off the floor and she says "if your foot feels like it's nailed to the floor, just keep trying. One day it will just come off the floor." It's true. You get stronger just by trying, and doing as much as you can at that moment. |

I started back doing the 10/10 this week, trying to do it every other day. My neck is bothering me so I'm only dong 1/2 of the stomach exercise for now.

I like how it makes me feel as well - that lovely pleasant soreness, I know I've done it well if my body feels like mush the next morning ![]() As for my schedule, I started it 2 weeks ago and so far I've completed 6 hours so 3 x weekly, but now I'm doing it every other day on my up days. |

I did the beginners again this morning. It's very instructional but I keep doing the movement the entire time Calli is talking about the movement. I feel better about it this morning. I got up this morning realizing that I only had the book back in the 80's. I swear I had the VHS but after watching the in-person movements, I now know that I only guessed at the correct movements from the book. Seeing it is so much better! |

Started my first 10/10 in October. Slacked off just before Thanksgiving. I felt so good during the weeks I did it. Stood taller and felt tighter. |

That's what I hoping for, especially the tighter. I feel like I jiggle everywhere!!!!!
LCG: thanks again for the info about Collage Video. I found the 10 in 10 there plus I got another Jane Fonda so I was able to get free shipping. The ebay one was charging more for the dvd + 5.95 shipping and then shipped it media so who know when I would have gotten it. Can be up to 20 days. Can't wait to get it. I'm not sure I'm ready for the evolution yet! |

Hit a bonus this morning. After my water workout at the Y, I went to a local video/used book store. Was looking, if by any chance, to find any dvd about callanetics. Nothing -- but I did find an original hard cover book Callanetics:10 years younger in 10 hours copyright 1984. I am so excited!!!
It is great to be able to read the story of Callan, as well as the individual exercises. Spent the entire evening reading. ![]() Oh, my body is a bit sore today too. I've never gotten sore from the water workouts so I'm sure it's from the 30 minutes callanetics I've been doing daily. Hope to do more of each movement tomorrow. ![]() |

Great Arlene! You'll like it, I'm sure.
You guys are doing really great! I'm so proud of you all! I, on the other hand, didn't get to do my 2nd workout this week, and it'll definitely be Monday before I can. But it's okay. I may try to squeeze in a position or two here and there when I can. |

I'm glad to see you all doing so well! Arlene, here's hoping you get your DVD soon! My DH ripped my DVDs to my computer, so I have them where ever I am. I even have them on my iPhone, so in a pinch I can do Callanetics with my phone. Very handy, since I'm not often near a DVD player.
LCG, you're doing great! It's a really great workout, isn't it? I'm getting more and more into Evolution. I have knee troubles (much lessened with JUDDD) and the kneeling exercises and the way they do leg exercises (heels together, standing up) are difficult for me. Evolution has some kneeling, but they seem more modifiable for me. And the exercises, in 10 in 10, with the leg up on the barre bother my knee some as well. Evolution doesn't do that. However, I feel more stretched out after I do 10 in 10, so I keep it in the rotation. Love the stretches on the floor with legs splayed out and bending down over the legs. When I'm doing it regularly, I can get my nose past my knee, and it feels wonderful. I'm doing Callanetics piecemeal the last couple of days, a few minutes here and there, some leg toning while I boil water for tea, stuff like that. It all helps!

but it sounds like fun. And I want to be ripped OK - enough of that!I can hardly wait till I'm stretchable enough to get my nose past my knees. Right now -- not at all, but like you all say -- do it every day and it will happen. LCG -- I'm glad I'm a JB too. Soooo glad I found this site! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Question: I did callanetics beginners Saturday morning. Made sure I did the entire 30 minutes, not just after Callan showed the moves. Today, my calves are soooo sore. I did walk the dogs this morning, but they were hurting before that. Haven't done anything else -- is this from callanetics? I assume it from lifting my legs up on something (in my case, my bed) and stretching over. I can't wait till tomorrow to see if they still hurt.
I haven't felt exercise working in a long time. It's exciting!!!!! |

Yep Arlene, those sore calves are probably from stretching those muscles. It does feel good when you can feel you're strengthening, doesn't it? Even if it hurts for a day or two!
I have a "fantasy" goal this week to do the whole 10 in 10 workout all 5 weekdays. I don't know if I will/can, but I'm sure going to try! I know it'll feel great, and will firm up the habit too! |

I have the original callanetics VHS from the 80's, I should dig it out, dust it off and get going! Luckily I still have a VHS player.

Yes Becky, and with the VHS it'll complete the whole 1980's flashback! Hope it still works! The tape, not the workout, ha!

Actually, not sore this morning at all. I feel something
Thinking that when I get my 10-in-10 dvd, I will mix them up, making sure I don't do the 10-in-10 the day before I do my water classes or I won't make it through them. Maybe later, once I get more experience under my belt, like you, I will be able to do them whenever. Thanks for your support. BTW, you look great! |

WTG Arlene! Yes, I know the wobbly legs feeling well! But it really means progress.
I'm glad you're not sore today. I was a little after my first hour of 10 in 10, but nothing like I've experienced in the past with other exercises. You know what I mean....the kind where you avoid going potty because sitting down and getting back up hurt SOOOOOO much! I'm a little sore again today, but nothing bad at all. I really worked hour 4 yesterday, and I'm determined to do hour 5 today too! I'm so glad we have our little group to encourage each other, and delight in each others' progress! |

I may be wrong about this but the Evolution doesn't seem as hard or intense as even the beginners I'm doing. The original Callan workout has much more in the way of long stretches- which is what made me sore. Or maybe it's working in a different way.
Dang -- I'm getting so impatient for my 10-in 10. The projected delivery date is 1/18. A whole week. Guess I'll just do my beginners twice! Thanks for your encouragement LCG -- I really don't think I would have started without it! ![]() |

Funny, I thought the Evolution was harder. I couldn't do it all the way through at first, had to sit down and rest after the leg work because I was so wobbly. I never had that with the 10 in 10. And I think the abs exercises in Evolution are way harder.
I do miss the long stretches--but they shouldn't be making you sore, if they are, you may be overdoing them. The stretching should not be painful. IME. |
