Hoping to get back to my 10 in 10 soon. I had a small bump removed from my shin a few weeks ago. It was no big deal - but I can't kneel just yet to do several of the exercises. Just had the stitches out yesterday so gonna give it a couple of more days and get back to it next week. I really did see and feel the differences in my body so I am anxious to get back to it!

So today I finally opened the new callinetics DVD I bought. I did about half of it. I'm going to put it in my suitcase to take to Tahoe with me. I'll have time to try and do the whole hour in my hotel room. Hopefully I'll follow through and actually do it!!!

Yay - it's so good to see another addict. Yes. Super is really just a longer version of 10 in 10 with a handful of new moves thrown in. Longer in the sense that you do more reps of the same move - for example 20 pelvic tilts vs 10 and 3 sets of leg/behind work instead of one. Plus new moves like the open/close (hard) and 2 different ab moves. Callan recommended only doing Super once or twice a week after your were familiar with 10 in 10 but I see people here doing it exclusively with no problems. I do it once a week (along with 10 in 10 twice a week). For me Callan is definitely a 'less is more' kind of workout. I've gotten amazing result with the 3 times a week schedule (but I had been at my goal weight for a good while before starting Callan so I've never been trying to lose weight with it or anything just pull everything in). I exercise on a daily basis, taking 1 day a week off. I really do enjoy the callentics after my zumba classes. It just feels soooo good ![]() |

I'm still trying to figure out the best time to fit in Callanetics. Grad school at night twice a week, plus the library study other nights. I'm not a morning person but may have no choice but become one. Thinking of 5 am to do an hour 3 days a week, and cardio the other 2.

I'm there with you Bronwyn, except I only have class one night a week (more than enough!). I always do 10/10 at night because I can go to bed soon after and not have "jelly legs" all day.
I'm very excited to report that I'm getting bendier!! Last night I could touch my head to my knees in the stretches (not the last one where your legs are both out in front...not yet) and the barre exercises. I don't think I could do that 5 years ago when I was 20lbs lighter. I wonder if JUDDD has some hidden flexibility benefit ![]() |

Thanks, Alcestis. I don't get out of class until 9:30 so home at 10:00 and I'm exhausted. Decided no exercise for those 2 nights and just work out hard for the rest of the week.
What is your curriculum? I'm in Public Administration. |

Alcestis, YES! Doing Callanetics definitely has flexibility benefits that stay with you and help me in other ways not just exercise. I am amazed that it makes me feel so much younger than any other type of toning. I rebound and love that as well, but Callanetics is different.

Okay, guys. You sold me. I just ordered 10 in 10 off Ebay. I had this maybe 15-20 years ago on VHS and I remember it was HARD. I don't think I ever made it through the entire 10 hours, so this time, I'm taking it as a challenge!
I can't wait to get it - it's supposed to be here by Saturday! |

I'm totally interested - but there are so many options, and I don't want to get a dvd that is awful, as I hate spending money, lol!
OK, so which is the absolute BEST Callanetics video for someone who's done pilates in the past, has 2 kids constantly up her nose, and is about 5 foot 7, with no ballet Barre in her living room? (LOL) |

I completed an hour last night, using the 3 20-minute videos. It's been about a month since my last full hour and I was tired, so my body wasn't quite so cooperative. At least I did it, though!

I started with the 10 years younger in 10 hours. I feel its a good place to start because it shows you how to position your body for the stretches. No ballet barre needed, I use a table.

Today my work out will be ripping my house apart trying to find these DVD's! I used to have the VHS a long time ago and I do remember how great my back felt after doing Callanetics for a few months. I bought new DVd's about a year ago and did one and was so sore I forgot to do it again! I am having some injury issues with my running right now and I bet these exercises are perfect for getting myself stronger. I am off to search!

The day before yesterday I did my Evolution DVD in the hotel room. OMGosh! my legs were soooooooooo sore yesterday! The rest of me was sore, too, but mostly it was my leg muscles where I'm feeling it. Still sore today, but not as bad. I definitely have to wait a few days before I do it again. ![]() |

Hey Bronwyn, I'm in Adult Learning, My main interest in adult basic education, and I'm leaning towards public policy...so many fascinating avenues, so little time... My class is tonight (although I get home at 8pm, not 10...ugh!) which means it's guilt-free TV night. Real Housewives, anyone? ![]() |

OK, I did the 10 years in 10 hours with my very healthy teenager this morning. It kicked both of our peaches! LOL! It flew by - did not feel like an hour at ALL - and felt like I spent the whole time stretching. The stomach toning stuff really was hard, but almost do-able with breaks, but the one where you sit on your legs and then raise up and move your pelvis around - dude. I was barely able to do ONE!
On the bad side, a few of the exercises really hurt my knees (I have delicate knees - the cartilage crunches and crackles, it's pretty gross) - the one where you stand on your toes and squat-ish in particular - and I have a slight stretched-out pain on the left side of my back that feels like I strained something a little. Question: I get the 'put your foot on a table' as a sub for the bar, but what about the ones where you have to reach up and hold onto something? I just leaned over and rested on my arm (maybe why my back hurts, lol) - I just don't have anything to hang onto! What do you guys use? |

I use door handles. And you're right about challenging for knees. Her quad stretch is a killa. I have to back off a bit or feel consequences.

I would definitely use a modification if you have knee issues. For the leg move where you stand on your toes - I can't find a picture but in Evolution they do that one with legs spread wider and feet flat on the floor. |

I miss Callan...
I fell at work on Friday and either strained something or cracked a rib. I'm not going to exercise until the pain goes away. Getting better every day but still pretty sore. |
