Week 1 Results

Well today is officially week 1 end and I am up to 191. My lowest all week was down 1 pound 189. Not exactly the results I was hoping to report my fiancée on the other hand is down 4 lbs. Men are so lucky.

I am trying SOOO hard to not get discouraged. I am reading posts about some needing 8 weeks to see results?! I don't think I can wait that long considering I have less than a year until the wedding and 50# to lose. Sorry for the rant. Weight loss has never ever been easy for me and I guess I was hoping this might work well.

Okkaaayy one month. I will give it that. Thanks to all of you for the support.

Weightloss is a Journey so really slow and easy does win the race. I understand where you are coming from about the men it doesn't matter what diet they go on they will most often lose more then you. I am not the Juddd expert but I do know it works if you give it time and I do know that once you settle in and enjoy being on a diet only half the time and knowing that what I can not eat today that in less the 24hrs I will be able to have it. You can lose those 50lbs in plenty of time but not if you give up. Stay encouraged and know that you are worth it.

It takes longer than a week for the program to even get to working properly. For some more like a month. JUDDD is a slow weight loss program BUT I started at 180 and I am now 150. I started January 8 and I am old and do not exercise so you should have no problems losing 50 pounds in a year.
If you would post what you are eating and your calories, maybe someone could see some changes you could make. If you were LC and added carbs it will take a bit longer for the water weight to go back down from the carbs.
And if you already have posted this info and I missed it, I apologize.

Stick with it my friend, you can see it works, you have the proof there beside you, ready to marry you.

If you are prepared to give this a serious go, sticking to your numbers and posting here often so that we can all help you along the journey, you will be a willow on your wedding day and, more importantly, forever after.

There are any number of crash diets out there which may, or may not, get you to the weight you wish to be for one day... but what about the forever after.

Just like a good marriage, view JUDDD as a lifetime commitment, through good times and the bad.

You will be the winner.

How wonderful to have 3 sterling examples of JUDDD consistency and success with great weight loss stories come in and post right away! Just look at those statistics and you are inspired!

All best wishes, sweethang07. Is your fiancee also doing JUDDD?

It's very unlikely it will take you 8 weeks to start losing, no! Just stick with your calories and it will happen. Within the month you give JUDDD you should have several days that make you

I gained a little bit the 1st week, lost a little bit the 2nd & 3rd weeks, and lost 6lbs the 4th week!

I hope you can give it a month.
Unless you have some other tried-and-true plan,
that you know will take off 50lbs in the time you wish, I think JUDDD deserves a chance.
It is a very healing WOE and will likely give you lots of benefits other than weight loss.
Very good during the stressful time before a wedding!

Also, please take your measurements!!!
Some people on here have gone down SEVERAL sizes (like from a size 16 to a size 10) while only losing 10lbs.
If part of your goal is to look nice in your wedding gown & photos, your size will matter a lot more than your weight.
**I used to work at a bridal & formalwear shop, and we relied ONLY on the measuring tape, not a scale!!!**

Good words Adi and Cindy (PJ and Whitlin' too--you guys posted while I was typing). It took a month for JUDDD to do the healing my body needed in order for it to start releasing weight. But in that month, I noticed other things happening--namely much less achiness in my joints and back. So the anti-inflammatory benefits were kicking in first.

Can you share you stats (height weight age) and the calorie numbers you are following so we can help trouble shoot? Were you previously lc and are now eating more carbs on you UD's? Are you weighing/measuring everything, or just sort of eyeballing/guessing. Sometimes, it's that your body needs time, sometimes it's that there are little things that are tripping you up that you aren't aware of.

Hang in there! And keep posting for encouragement.

Sweethang07!

As Tina says, sometimes JUDDD has to do some clean up work/healing before weight loss really kicks in. Some of us are so amazed/improved by that healing that weight loss becomes a wonderful side benefit.

Don't let a week depress you. Some of our slow starters see great losses once the their bodies are ready.

And for heaven's sake, do not, do not, do not compare female weight loss to male'. That is just tooooooooo

Thanks again everyone! I so appreciate the encouragement. I know a week is too soon to judge so I will stick with it. Fiancée is doing juddd too. Always helps when we are on the same diet. Funny thing is be was waayy skeptical so I am glad he saw results bc he will stick with it and that helps me.

To answer your questions about stats:
25 yo
CW 190
Height 5' 4"
UD cals 1998
DD 500 at 25% i plan to lower to 20% but wanted to start higher.

As for my eating I have tracked my food online since the start. I have had to estimate on my UD bc my fiancée and I went out to eat at local places a few days and they don't post nutrition. I have been very strict on my DDs though
and only eat at home measuring and tracking every crumb.

My previous WOE was protein power. My DDs have been very LC--about 10g carb total. My UDs on the other hand haven't been so pretty with carbs. I have sort of had that kid in a candy shop feel like wow I can eat what I haven't had in years ahhhh. So I am going to make a very conscious effort to reign this in a bit. I hope that helps and I honestly don't feel good eating so many carbs. So that's my plan. I will keep reporting to you all to let you know how it goes.

You will be holding water as you have just reintroduced carbs. You don't need to cut them out again but moderation is wise. Looking forward to your progress.

Do join the August Newbie thread if you haven't already. Lots of support there.

Ah, that explains it.

Yep, lots of LCers find re-introducing carbs causes water retention. The choices are:
(a) Don't
(b) Sneak up on 'em gradually, bite by bite
(c) Dive in - mouth wide open - and take the initial bounce and/or initial slower weight loss while your body figures out how to handle the increase

All three choices are valid

Congratulations! You have learned something about your own metabolism! Each learning can be a giant step towards successful weight loss and a long, happy maintenance.

Sweetthang, SO glad you're here.
I wonder whether we should call the first two weeks The O-My-God-It-Isn't-Working Phase. That'd be ridiculous because it IS working, but the first two weeks are when we seem to be the most frustrated, and maybe if we called it that, we'd be able to relax a bit.
JUDDD works. It's miraculous, IMHO, and it gets better with every week. After a short while, you stop gnashing your teeth with every DD, and depending totally on today's scale reading for your sanity.
Until then, vent your frustrations and the beautiful, wise, happy losers here will help you along.
Soon you'll be loving this.

Same here. Talk about using gotsomeold's choice (c). And enjoying every minute of it along with the scale going down, down, down.

This is the method I chose and I never looked back.

My husband is doing JUDDD with me and having a supporter is a huge help. Keep up the good work and I'm sure you will see results soon!
