My package has been given to the USPS for priority delivery - sometime in 1-3 days I should get my order - am really looking forward to trying this, and hoping it works as well for me as it does for so many of you!

I really like how posts like this show "real people" results!

Day 10 of ptero and I took 150 MG of Jarrow today for the first time - at 7 am. I came to work early and felt the need to work hard! Perhaps the extra energy I was looking for? My appetite seems to be under control for UD and DD. Plan to continue on 150 mg and see what happens.

I placed my order May 20 - received it (priority mail) today - and the holidays slowed it down a day.

I will start it tomorrow and post my results ...

Today we went to Universal Studios - with an 18 month granddaughter and her young parents - ate poorly, so it'll be a good test tomorrow.

Mine took almost a month, but it was worth the wait. I had plenty and the value can't be beat!

I have a question. I've been taking the ptero since May 21. Began JUDDD on May 1.

I began with 50 mg and upped to 100 mg second week and took 150 mg yesterday.

I feel it does control my appetite, very well. Yesterday was a DD, but I ate what I had planned (300 calories), although I was feeling a bit overly full after my miracle noodles with tomatoes for dinner. Also my last UD on Wed, having taken 100 mg ptero, I did not want to eat dinner - had no appetite, but ate because I need to in order for JUDDD to work.

My question (finally) do you think the health benefits from ptero outweigh the appetite benefits? Is it a good thing to continue ptero and eat with no appetite in the long run? It doesn't seem like a good thing to do to me only because of my fear of something coming up in my life that makes me turn to food for comfort (BTDT) and I'm used to eating when not hungry.

I'm very good with routines and habits seem to stick with me, which is why I've been thinking about this eating with no appetite thing.

Thank you for any thoughts on this.

Why don't you try decreasing the amount you take back down to 50mg and see what that does for you? Or, if you like the appetite suppression on DD's but feel 100mg is necessary for it, only take the supplement on your DD's? It'll still be in your system.

Personally, I think the health benefits are amazing. The effect on my blood sugar alone has shown me that this is a great supplement to take, and that's only an effect I can see immediately. But I think you could probably have the health benefits with a smaller dose.

Thanks for your reply. I have the 50 mg Jarrow now, but ordered the GOOD DEAL on the 150 mg. Buy 1 get 2. I have a big supply now of the 150. I was wondering about the supplements every other day - think I will experiment with that.

I took my first dose this morning (150mg) - didn't take anything else until about an hour later, but I did follow it with a cup of coffee...

At first I think I noticed a decrease in appetite, but then later ??? But (and this is a big BUT), I babysat my granddaughter (17 months old) for the day - and it was a hard, hectic day. I've not had a baby around since 1985, and believe me, it seemed easier then when I was younger. Every time I wanted to sit and rest a spell, Nori wanted/needed to do something. We walked (and Grandma ended up carrying her towards the end) several miles; went to the grocery; ran some errands (and showed her off!); etc. - we had promised her some beach time but it rained (hard, with lightning and thunder) throughout the day so that was out - try explaining that to a toddler!

I had meant to do today as a DD, but when my daughter and her husband came home earlier than planned, we ended up with a cookout, doubt that I kept my calories much under 1000 ...

I plan to take it every morning for a while, at least until it "kicks in" - then I'll decide if I want to take it on UDs - from what I've been reading on this thread it seems some people only need it on DDs? But I also like the "extra" benefits, hoping I get them too!

Will keep posting ....

Goner, I don't think we're talking about levels here that would take someone's appetite out in the long run. Also, taking it on every other day or taking an alternate higher/lower amount is a good option. Right now I'm taking 50 on UDs and 100 on DDs in weight maintenance mode.

The health benefits are most important to me. I'm interested to see if I think it helps with some blood work markers, etc. But even if it doesn't make a big difference on those particular personal experiments, I can see the studies have proven so much already.

Day 4 of pterostilbene.

I'm not sure yet, today will be my first "normal" day on it. We had company for the past several days and ate pretty much on the go - for example, at the Outlet Mall (though the kids did have pizza and I had a diet Coke; then they had ice cream and my husband and I shared a small, no-sugar-added ice cream) ... Spent the morning yesterday at the beach, then I made a large breakfast/brunch - and I had a couple of slices of cranberry/walnut bread with cream cheese - along with eggs and cantaloupe.

But I seemed to not think about food until someone else said they were hungry - had no trouble eating, but maybe wasn't all that interested??? though maybe my granddaughter (18 months) kept my attention!

Today everyone is gone, and it's a DD - so I'll see how it goes. My morning weight was really quite good (134.2) so I'm not worried, didn't pick up a bunch of pounds. This WOE seems to agree with me!!!!

I skipped my ptero on Saturday's DD, but continued with 100 mg. yesterday and today. Hard to judge yesterday as I was at a work event out in the heat all day, and didn't drink enough water since I didn't have easy access to a bathroom, and was dehydrated and bone tired when I got home. Yesterday turned into an UUAD due to frustrations over work and being too tired to care. Unfortunately.

Today took 100 mg and did not eat breakfast, which I normally do. I am not hungry yet and will wait to see when hunger kicks in.

Thanks for the advice of taking different amounts on UD and DD. Don't know why it didn't occur to me.

While I've mostly been paying attention to my appetite, today I noticed much less pain in an arthritic thumb. Usually I feel pain and weakness in it when picking things up - and today noted that I did not! Something is working. In addition, at my work event yesterday there was a lot of dust - and I noted when the 9 hour work day was over I had only used one tissue. That is unheard of when I am around dust all day.

I just wanted to let anyone know that was thinking about ordering from doctor vitamins. I made my order on Thursday afternoon I believe and according to tracking they will be here tomorrow! Pretty quick! I was expecting to wait weeks.

Day #5 (today)

Yesterday was a DD, with my 4th dose of pterostilbene. I didn't think about food until dinner (around 7PM) ... other than my coffee with half & half ... for dinner I had some left-over macaroni/kidney bean salad, and cantaloupe ... could have stopped at any time, but ate a full serving simply because "it was there" (need to take smaller servings!).

I have no energy problems, so no change there - and I'm still sore from carrying around an 18-month-old granddaughter, so ... No negative side-effects, such as headache or nausea. I need to re-read to see some of the other good changes fellow JUDDers have found.

Anyway, I "think" it's going to work for me - will wait for a few more DDs before I'm absolutely sure, but it's looking good!

Question about resverotol and ptetrostilbene

I have read that some of you are taking the resv and the petro. I started taking the resv at 150 mg and got dizzy. I am anxious to try the petro, but ordered some today. What dosages are some of you taking it at when combining the two? I am having such a hard time with my DD's.
Thanks a Bunch!

Sorry Mystyblue but I only take ptero - and ohcmb, I take the ptero on an empty stomach, but have coffee within 15 minutes after taking it.

Yesterday's 100 mg ptero left me with no appetite until dinner, but I was feeling like I needed food for energy about 3 pm - although I waited to eat till 5 pm.

Yesterday was a DD and I had no energy. I had hoped the ptero would help with energy, but hasn't. I need to figure out the best times for me to eat to keep my energy up. No matter an UD or a DD, I appear to need a nap by 6 pm every day. Somedays at work I want to doze off by 3 pm. But some of those days it is because of too many carbs with lunch.

I ordered the 150 mg from doctors vitamins, the special offer that was discussed here. I ordered it May 31 and it arrived in yesterday's mail (June 4). Now that is QUICK!

I took a 150 mg today as it's a DD. I'm not sure I'm going to eat today with or without hunger. Last DD I ate my 350 calories - getting most of them from lots of low calorie vegetables, and my stomach felt uncomfortable digesting all of them. I'm still trying to figure out my DD. Have NO problem with an UD menu. I'm satisfied with weight loss so far and I'm getting into the swing of JUDDD having completed 5 weeks today. I am more concerned with my energy level, which is still adequate most days, but not all. I want more energy! I could use it.

Wow Carly - just looked at your "before and after" pics!!

Any chance you (and others) could list all the good side effects you're enjoying with the pterostlbene? I've started my husband on it after reading on the web about it helping with brain aging ... And now he wants to know more but this thread is so darned long ... And basically I'm lazy I'm still working my way through it ...

So much that I'm finding on the web is super-technical, and although I've a degree in chemistry, it's from long, long ago (1966) ... And much of biochem has changed. Plus I'm working with my iPad and it's cumbersome doing searches.

Thanks.

The biggest effect for me has been increased energy and increased mental clarity with improved focus. I'm not sure about appetite suppression since I never had a big appetite and it got super tiny from JUDDD, which I was doing for a while before starting pterostilbene.

I just wanted to report in. Still taking 150 mg ptero every day. I took it during all of my vacation. I did not count calories on my vacation at all (though I did try to only eat when hungry, and stop before being stuffed), and I only came back a couple pounds heavier. I really think this helped to keep the damage minimal. Love this stuff!

Bonnie, I have read the whole thread and if memory serves me, some notice appetite control, mental clarity, increased energy, headaches early on and then none, stability of moods. And some people did not notice these things. Some people did not notice any changes till they upped their dosage to 150 mg. Most posters started with 50 mg back on page 1. There was a discussion on having enough in your system to start to work, and perhaps it took longer for people just starting JUDDD and working on their sirt (did I get that sirt thing right?) - where people who had been following JUDDD longer noticed changes sooner. One poster noted her skin looked better (less aged) and one poster had significant improvement in her blood sugar readings.

I'm new to JUDDD - having begun May 1. I began ptero in my second week. I do notice appetite suppression, not so much extra energy, but a little once in awhile - slight headache when I began taking it, and still when I take 150 mg, but not bad headache. This week I have less pain and weakness in an arthritic thumb that I am giving credit to JUDDD and Ptero? I'm just happy about it, as the thumb had been bothering me for about 8 months now.

Hope I helped!

Popping in here to read some of your experiences because I'm starting this supplement in a week or two when my order arrives. Thanks for sharing!

On a completely different note: I started looking at the doctor's site and HOLY COW do they have some deals!!! Unfortunately for me, I literally just this morning ordered my yearly supply of vitamins elsewhere. Seriously?!? You guys are KILLING me here! Keeping it in my back pocket for next year though!
