I love the extra energy and appetite control it gives me! Today is a DD and I'm off work today, so I'm counting on it to help me control the hungries.

I will be taking it and monitoring what impact it has for me, posting here when it is relevant.

Thanks to each of you for sharing your information!

I got my huge supply of Pterostilbene and Resveratrol from the Doctor Vitamin Shop, too! I will not be running out anytime soon. That was a fantastic deal for less than $50!!!!!!!

But sadly I couldn't avail myself of them after all. My lovely sister got them from good old Netrition in the end as the Dr Vit site couldn't deliver them to her in time. Still a big saving for me though. 8 x 60 of the Jarrow Ptero.

And they work just as well as the Jarrow brand that I had been taking. So I am a happy customer.

Me too. I worried that they would be weak or not effective, but they seem good to me.

I have to say, I was skeptical at first, but I really think the ptero has been helping! The headaches stopped after about 3 days, and I've been able to stick to my calories on my D, U and M days, which I haven't been able to do before. And it's 10pm on a DD and I have no interest in food. Thank you Cindy for mentioning this in another thread, I think it might be a lifesaver.

And I just placed an order through Dr Vitamin. Awesome!

No appetite suppression at this stage, well maybe slightly, but I can't be definite as there are a few variables and anyway I wasn't expecting this to show up until I had more P in my system.

However definitely more energy and this shows quite clearly in my exercise workouts Also softer facial skin including a LOT less redness in cheeks; very noticeable I'm almost pale looking. I have always assumed this is sun damage from living in a hot climate and not knowing as kids what we now know about the dangers of too much sun and uv radiation. However if this is indeed a reversing of sun damage this is seriously some amazing stuff.....

That would be great Mojo. I have pretty good skin for my age and I use anything that can help. I have just upped my Resveratrol to 1250 a day after reading how good it is for anti ageing.

I have resveratrol but don't take it but looks like I better since I am already old. BUT I get compliments on my skin but I make and sell goat milk products so the facial lotion I make is really good. Resveratrol would just make me look even better. Maybe. One can always hope.

My new ptero is great and is obviously stronger than the two 50 mg jarrow brand I was taking. 150 mg every day is helping with my appetite problem. I love the extra help until I can train myself to enjoy the fresh veggies from the garden rather than higher calorie goodies.

Adillenal - How do you take the 150mg? Do you break them up? I am taking 2 x 50mg in the morning but was thinking of adding another one in the afternoon for a total of 150mg?

My new capsules are already 150 mg so I just take one in the morning. I was taking two - 50 mg in the morning and one 50 mg in the afternoon. I "think" I am having better luck with 150 mg all at once. Seems to knock out the appetite all at once and it stays gone for the day.

I wish I could up my dose, but when I was taking 100 mg I wasn't able to sleep. I have increased my resveratol to 100 mg., but I take that before bed. I do take 1 ptero in the morning as early as I remember, but only 50 mg.

I should probably have investigated this before taking it, but is one of the side effects (or purposes) of ptero controlled blood sugar? Since I've started taking it, no matter what I ate for dinner/snacks the night before, no matter how high-carb my previous UD was, my bg is in the 80's the next morning. Which is kind of amazing!

I think I'm having the appetite suppressant on this now. I think I'll only start taking it on DDs, as I took some yesterday and then couldn't eat dinner. I'm finding I only eat a tiny amount and then feel uncomfortably full. I haven't had stomach growling hunger in quite some time now. I was not able to get in all my UD calories yesterday, and I'm a little worried I'll screw myself up. I took some this morning, and my hunger is completely DEAD. I feel nothing. If anything, my stomach feels a bit full at the moment. Strange.

deedee, doing a search for the three words, "pterostilbene blood sugar", will give you lots to read - yes, it does have a positive effect of regulating blood sugar.

But what I really want to say is thank you for bringing this personal info to us. It means more than hearing about studies, even though they are encouraging. Hearing experience from someone we know here on the JUDDD forum is meaningful and inspiring.

Jen, by all means, take the amount/frequency that seems right for YOU.

My ptero (50mg) arrived at noon. It was a DD so I didn't want to eat till dinner time.

I took two, four hours apart. I've had a very unhungry day and no headache, thank goodness.

However, I did feel nibbly after dinner. Interesting!

I'm taking 1 150mg every morning upon wakinging and had no ill effects from jumping from 50 mg to 150 mg.

Different brand though.

DD today. Took 50mg at noon but was uncomfortably hungry all afternoon, despite an emergency cuppa, which usually does the trick!

Another 50mg at 3pm and the hunger melted but ate dinner at 7.30pm because I need to eat again later with a decent gap between.

My rotations are about to be seriously derailed by Life Events, so I don't know if this is as far as my ptero experiment will go for now. Looks promising though!

My new ptero at 150 mg is working so much better than the two 50 mg Jarrow brand I was taking. I forgot to take it this morning so I have my Jarrow in my purse and took 3 - 50 mg ones and I don't feel a thing as far as appetitie suppression. I need to put a sticky on my frig to remember to take my ptero before breakfast as that is when it seems to work the best.

A big thank you to smart JUDDD ladies for the info! I upped my Ptero to 150mg as you gals are and I can definitely feel the appetite suppression working. I love this stuff so much I don't have any trouble forgetting to take my Ptero....am loving it.

Well it finally kicked in just in time for dinner and since I wasn't hungry and I had indulged in lemon pound cake, I just ate radishes for dinner. Sure takes a long time for the appetite suppression to kick in for me so I am going to try to take it when I get up every morning. A sticky on the frig worked this morning. Already had my ptero and now having breakfast.

Still taking the ptero, and am remembering to take it when I need it. Still having the good appetite suppression, but the discomfort has passed as far as fullness. I'm just learning to eat bits at a time, as I feel I need. That has helped quite a bit, and I'm managing my calorie intake much better. I've decided to take it every day for the other benefits.

I am also enjoying the 150 mg doseage from Dr. Vitamin; thank you Cindy!! DH has diabetes so he's getting it in his daily supplements as well. It really does help with the appetite suppression which is a real blessing as my UDs had turned into UUADs and stalled my losses. I am looking forward to seeing the scale drop soon.

It's not just the AS though, it's the sheer energy it gives me!!! My workouts are effortless. I get this buzz but it's not like a coffee/stimulant buzz; it's a gentle, natural buzz is the best I can explain it. I'm sleeping like a log as well and have been sleeping in on mornings to the point of being late. That is so not the usual for me. I don't know if its the Ptero or the extra exercise I'm doing as a result of the energy from the Ptero but I'm am just crazy about this stuff. Just hope it's safe for long-term use.

Because of this miracle ptero, for the first time ever on a day OFF work, yesterday my UD did NOT turn into an UUAD!! I actually stayed within my UD calories! (may sound trivial, but to me, it is a HUGE accomplishment!!)

I love the pterostilbene and took a second 150 around 3:30pm and sailed straight through to now... Almost 10:30pm! That is unheard of during the week. DW is wondering who this imposter is and what did she do with her wife

I am also enjoying increased energy...which must be from the ptero. I really feel terrific and hunger is very mild on this DD. No question it is helping ALOT. I am looking forward to an UD tomorrow where I control myself instead of having an UUUUUUUUUUUUUUAD. Cindy, you are such a gem for pointing this out to us!!!
