Checking in after taking my first Ptero dose last night (see post below-boy did it save me from eating my hand!). Got on the scale this morning and had my frist "whoosh" of my JUDDD journey. Lost 2.9 lbs since my last weigh in on Wednesday-only 48 hrs previous!

Of course, this is the smallest of small sample sizes and I have no direct evidence of any correlation, but consiering my struggles to get the weight loss to kick in over the last 10 days, this really feels great!

Yippee!

DaSHMith, this is your reward for reading every post in the thread. A good thing just had to happen to you after putting in that much effort.

Well, adi, Cindy and Dawn, I am going along with you today on a DD and seeing if 2 early is helpful. But I will not take them until I have my first food, and haven't done that yet. You might advise me otherwise - not sure.

Soren, I take the same one as you, pteroblue.

I think taking 2 at once with this one is no problem, because each capsule is still just 50 of the ptero, even though the total is 100 with the blueberry, right? I'm considering the second 50 of each capsule to be complimentary nutrition, not active ptero.

Have any of you tried more than 1 brand and had a preference? I've only used the Jarrow, but didn't know if anyone had done a comparison.

I'm not much of a supplement taker, but this one has me intrigued, so I appreciate the time you all are taking to post your experiences with it.

I understand completely. I don't even take a multivitamin or calcium or anything. Just pterostilbene and resveratrol.

Wow is that a deal and it is buy one and get two free. The 180 per bottle is 24.99 so you could get 3 bottles of 180 each at 150 mg for $28.94 with shipping.
Thanks Kissa.

Course I am now taking 2 -50 mg capsules each am so one 150 mg capsule is more than that so hope it isn't too big a dose.

Thought I'd come in and report that several days of 2 pteroblue pterostilbene capsules early-to-mid-morning in the day have not bothered me a bit with any side effect (no headache, no effect on sleep.)

Each of these has 50 mg ptero (and 50 mg organic blueberry). So, 100 mg ptero per morning. This is not their product that includes Resveratrol.

The 2 DDs I've done with this schedule have seemed easier than usual and I've stayed at 500 cals, though in maintenance I don't have to. (I've taken them every day.) Usually I wait until my first bite of the day to take them, but one day I didn't happen to eat until lunch and just had them with water earlier. Both ways seem fine, I just like to take pills with food.

I also notice that I'm paying a bit much and am checking for better online prices for the pteroblue. Going over to 150 seems more than I want to do right now. I'll bear that one in mind, though, and really appreciate hearing about it, Cindy.

The only other thing I've done differently that might have made DDs easier is I began having a small bowl of oatmeal with 1/4 T coconut oil for supper. That may have shut any hunger down efficiently for the rest of the evening, but doesn't explain how the days went so well.

I am finding that I need to take my 2 - 50 mg Jarrow brand ptero before breakfast and then I am good for the day. Forgetting and taking mid morning for me wasn't as effective although I had some appetite suppression. Before or with breakfast and the effect was strong and lasted all day. I am going to take another 50mg one after lunch today just to see if I get a headache since I have ordered the 150 mg version. Just getting prepared.

Glad I checked this thread because it reminded me to take my ptero today! That sounds like a great deal but I just ordered 3 bottles last week! I'll keep an eye on that site for later deals - thanks for posting.

Hey, ladies! I have a few questions about the Ptero for you...

First, (and I apologize if this has already been answered -- I skimmed the thread for it, but didn't see this info) -- do most of you take it every day or only on DD's?

So far I've been taking 1 in the morning on DD's -- and I do think it is helping with hunger to a degree. But, I'm wondering a) if I should take two, and b) if I should take it every day. The brand I have is Source Naturals and they're 50mg each. Thoughts on the brand, dosage, frequency -- I wanna hear it all! lol Thanks!

I take 2 50mg tablets but only my DD, I don't have issues with UUADs as a rule s, so don't see any reason to take them on UDs.

I take two in the morning (Jarrow 50 mg) two in the afternoon (1-2 PM) and one in the evening (5-6 PM) every day for a total of 250 mg per day. I chose the 250 mg protocol based on that being the dose in the studies I have read. Most folks here take less.

I just ordered a bottle (Jarrow brand), so I look forward to seeing what kind of results I get from this supplement. The only other supplements I take are L-lysine and biotin. No vitamins, no prescription meds, etc. I'll likely start with 50 mg per day in the morning and work my way up to 100 or 150, depending on how my body reacts.

Good plan since the first couple of times I took 50mg I got a raging headache but that doesn't happen any longer. Just a heads up.

Thanks for the heads up, Adi! I see some others got headaches. I'll be prepared with some aspirin if the headaches should occur. Hope not. Seems like this supplement has some benefits, and I want to experience them!

I need to order more Ptero soon, as I'm almost through my first bottle. Took two this morning (100mg) and hunger seems to be in check (it's a DD). Let me pick the lovely brains of you lovely ladies some more... lol I notice some people take the Ptero AND Resveratrol. Can you explain why? I was under the impression that they were the same thing but that the Ptero has better bio-availability. Have a feeling I'm incorrect about this, so please set me straight!

p.s. -- I have a cheap Resveratrol supplement from Walmart laying around somewhere -- but a quick glance tells me that it also contains chromium and what looks like a lot of caffeine. Any opinions?

Well, truth to tell, I bought the Resveratrol first. It was 500 mg and I felt it helped. Since then I have only been able to get 50mg tablets, made by the same company (remember I am in the UK).

So I moved on to the Ptero 50mg (way more expensive for us) but it worked. then I doubled my dose and it worked better.

But I still have some of the 50mg Reveratrol left, so I take them now and again too. Why others do, I can't really say. They aren't identical, but I love my Ptero.

Can't really comment on your Walmart stuff, doubt it will do you any harm though.

I sometimes take resveratrol too simply because I bought it and feel I am wasting money if it just sits in the bottle.

Kissa - I have had migraines since I was in my earlu 20's so I tend to be more prone to getting a headache from something new.

That's what mine are, Kissa -- they're 50 mg each of the Resveratrol, then they've got Chromium and about 100 mg of caffeine each. Just seems like a lot of caffeine since I'm already drinking coffee. We'll see -- the price was definitely right, though -- about $5 at the local Wallyworld. That's probably why I don't trust them! :P
