Has anyone tried taking the CLA with these supplements? I am thinking about trying it but wondering if all of them combined might be too much.

Thanks to all the posts on this thread, I ordered some pterostilbene and resveratol from netrition yesterday. Because of the holiday I won't get it til the middle of next week. That's okay, it'll give me time to plan! Back to eating low carb, and then tossing in JUDDD. Thanks for the help everyone!

Honestly, coffee/caffeine has made me feel that way all my life (shaky, confused, have to eat bread to calm down), and I only became diabetic a few years ago.

Some things lower my blood sugar and I feel fine (like alkaline water);
other things lower it and I feel terrible--cinnamon, for example.

I think as long as you don't do silly things to make your blood sugar levels plummet like going too long without any food at all and drinking a whole bottle of wine (oh the shame) you'll be fine. Apparently binge drinking makes you hypo.

So far I'm booze free and feeling fine. So not only is the supplement working but my liver is happy and I save the calories.

I took a 2nd pterostilbene for like the third time yesterday. I felt it was helpful with energy and with appetite suppression.

I just started pterostilbene two days ago. Also Resveratrol. Don't know if it's my imagination, seems like it's helping sirtuins to surge. A feeling of well being. Hope it continues.

I took my first P yesterday (got them a few months ago, but because I was having health issues decided to hold off starting).

I had a lot of energy yesterday. So much that I had trouble falling asleep last night (unusual for me).

One restless night does not a this-is-not-for-me make. Took 50 mg P and a Res this morning. Interested to see what happens.

I fogot to take the ptero for several days through Thanksgiving and I did not notice any more appetite than usual BUT I did notice the lack of energy so if for nothing else I will continue it for the energy surge. I need to get stuff done.

It took months of taking the ptero for me to see an energy increase. Don't want anyone to think it was instant.

I'm only taking this on days when I'm ready to work hard as I do find I get a lot more done. On weekends I want to be lazy! I feel good on it and appetite is very controlled. However I am noticing a spike in wanting sugar around mid afternoon. I think I'll keep on this. The health benefits sound very good and I love the mental sharpness. I did stop my DHEA supplements. Add P to the testosterone surge and I risk getting a bit too snappy. Today was good. A calm even energy despite a late night at my panto rehearsal.

Maybe that is waht has been causing me to want SUGAR, SUGAR, and more SUGAR. I did not take the ptero for a few days and I had no sugar cravings yesterday. Will have to see if the cravings come back this week.

Interesting. Perhaps it's ok to eat carbs when you are on this? One of the benefits is it stops blood sugar spikes. Might work really well with the potato hack?

This is such a strong supplement for me. My sleep is definitely a little restless and I dream more.

Another side effect is starting to surface. My skin is smoother and just looks and feels 100% better. I can't think this can be caused by anything else. Even my mum said how good I looked. I suppose it's anti ageing and I'm seeing that. All I can say is Wow!

Although I have regular peels and CACI treatments, I am noticing that my skin is even better than usual. Now, at my age this is a real bonus.

I had already noticed the the skin on the rest of my body was better and I am sure that was down to the DE that I started taking some time ago, also the age spots on my hands are much paler....

So whichever it is, I am not stopping. Do you send for the Pt from the States?

The ptetostilbene and liquid resveratol arrived from netrition yesterday. I took 1 pterostilbene at 9a.m. and the resveratol... very hungry all morning, but it is only my 2nd dd. I may take another pterostilbene at around 2. How many days/weeks until it kicked in for you?

Wondering if I should try my l-glut again, and do it consistently before I splurge on this supplement. Lord knows I need some type of appetite supressant because I am having worse and worse DD's. Actually hate thinking about the coming week and Mon-Wed-Fri DD's, and the possibility of not doing them well.

I am in my 3rd DD and it's still morning.. I was starving by 9am even though I took the "P" at around 7:45. I ate approx. 130 calories just now and I feel much better. I sure wish it would kick in! I've never done a DD on a weekend, so if I need to I'll try another one mid-afternoon. I have some l-glut capsules in the cupboard.. maybe I'll try those if the hunger monster returns. Although, I really want to make peace with hunger. It's just hunger...it's a feeling that's uncomfortable but not painful. When I am hungry my body is using it's fat stores, and that's a good thing!

Cindy, my UD calories are ranging from 1700 and up...I don't really count. Sometimes I think they are low, but even when I know they are a little high, the hunger on DD's doesn't seem to be affected...still hungry.

P effects me the same way R does (I have taken R several times historically) - I perceive nothing. No extra energy (but I usually have lots of energy), no appetite suppression (but, since my SIRT levels reached a certain point, my hunger rarely extends beyond being a bother).

However, given the internal, invisible good they may be doing (and since I spent the money on them) I shall continue taking them.

Yes, as Nancy stated, my SIRT levels were already well established before starting resveratrol or pterostilbene. I think you may already need a certain amount of SIRT enzymes to be flowing to feel the extra or excess energy and appetite suppression that some of us experienced immediately since we were JUDDDing before using these supplements. Otherwise if you are just starting both you may need some of the pterostilbene and/or resveratrol to build up in your system before you notice the benefits.

Don't know- just guessing, but most of us had been JUDDDing for a while when we added these. As they say...YMMV.

It was slow to start for me. At first I only took it on DD but now I take2 on DD and one on UD and the consistency seems to work better. It was several weeks before I really felt the sppetitie suppression. And many months before I felt the energy boost.

I agree with this. I don't find I have the benefits of this supplement when I am not also doing JUDDD consistently. It just seems to improve them.

I did feel pretty content (non-hungry) yesterday afternoon after taking a second "P". My shirataki noodle dinner was almost hard to get down. I am starving this a.m. though - thankfully it's an UD!

I will be patient for all the good affects of the eating plan and the supplements to kick in. I am just starting week 2 today. So far so good!

Thanks for the advice and support!

"My shirataki noodle dinner was almost hard to get down."

A shirataki noodle dinner would be hard for me to get down in ANY circumstances! LOL!

Well, I took my first pterostilbene this morning. I have been amazed at how well my hunger has stayed in control. I had a baked sweet potato for breakfast and 3 small red-skinned new potatoes for lunch. I am just now feeling some hunger pangs. Plus I have felt "alert" today! Yay! I will take it!

Another update.....after second day on pterostilbene, I had the same good results. My hunger stayed reasonably controlled, even on my UD yesterday. I felt really good and alert. I take Adderall every day to be able to concentrate to get my job done working from home on the computer all day. I can usually tell when my Adderall "wears off" and it is time for my next dose. Day 1 on ptero, I only took my 2 morning doses and not my afternoon dose. Yesterday, I only took my first dose of the day. I totally forgot about my doses for the rest of the day.....I did not feel the need for it! That would be GREAT to get off the Adderall! Plus I lost about 1-1/4 pounds over the 2 days!

I have had the same experience with the reduction in Adderall usage since taking the pterostilbene. I take it 4x between 5:30am and 4pm. It is not unusual that I now forget a dose or 2. Everyone is like yeah, well you have ADD- of course you forget to take it, but it's different, because in the past I would remember at some point 'cause I couldn't focus or get my work done. Now the time sails by and I just keep working!
