It'll make a fabulous sound. Sparks will fly. People will gasp.
Part two. We carry on JUDDDing here without the number neurosis. We enjoy each other's company, we cheer each other on, we learn lots. Our insides heal. We drink sangria, we dance.
Part three. We visit a stupid metal thing at a friend's house a few months later and find out we've lost weight, we've lost BMI, we've lost all kinds of things. We've even lost the habit of suffering over numbers.
Love this! The idea of not suffering over the numbers is huge for me. In July I took two vacations and started a new job so it was a bit crazy. I stuck to my rotations without being neurotic (there were some UUAD days, but my DD were in line) and, even though the number on that "stupid metal thing" hasn't gone down much, my clothes are feeling loser and I'm so much HAPPIER on this woe than any other plan I've tried before.

I don't know if any of you are twitter users, but I follow this one baseball player who is always writing about having a PMA (positive mental attitude...I had to google it). I think that JUDDD is the PMA diet! My whole attitude about my body and eating has changed so much in the last four months.

This month I have to travel a lot for work, plus my parents are coming for a 10 day visit (luckily, they are pretty stress free as parents go). Just hoping JUDDD and my PMA can carry me through to September!

Hello, Jade.

Natasha, thank you so much for the info you gave/sent me on the soup!

Connie and Sheridan, I responded to your fabric posts in the July chat.

vanilla, I would trust your own scale that you have been seeing every day more than one at a doctor's office. That doesn't add up - literally. Do you remember whether you thought it "weighed heavy" at the 2-week check-up compared to your own scale?

I bet if each of us went around our doctor's buildings, and weighed at each medical office (twice if they had 2 scales) we would never get the same weight twice. At our doctor's office there are 2 scales depending upon which examination room you are sent toward. I've learned to always insist on the same one, because the other is way off but no one ever does anything about it.

Well, that certainly explains the extra hunger and moodiness. TOM showed up a couple days early. What a *nice* surprise. Not. At least it makes my mental state make sense.

I'm loving the visual of the scale in the coffee grinder. I can just hear all the 'oooh's' and 'aaaah's' now as the sparks fly. Thanks for the chuckle Kristin.

Vanilla, shrug it off. So much can affect weight in that situation--maybe the scale wasn't zeroed, your clothes were heavier, you had just gone potty last time and didn't this time, and on and on. The pants don't lie, and if you'd really gained 7 pounds, I daresay they'd be feeling a little snug. Glad you are healing well.

Hello

Hi everyone!
I have only been on JUDDD a few weeks but I am loving it. I have learned so much from all you lovely folks.

I did a round of hcg and had a very hard time stabilizing on P3 (water weight)... after a few weeks on JUDDD I am stable and now am looking forward to losing "new pounds".

Have a great weekend!

Oh boy. Today was an UUAD in the stratosphere. I rationalized it because it is my BDay and I have out of town family in and a house full of 14 people that I was feeding and I walked 7+ miles yesterday and every other excuse under the sun. I will stay far away from the scale tomorrow and hope a good DD will minimize the damage. Moving on!

Hoping free means no consequences but not getting near the scale to find out! Walked 7.2 miles in the heat today and having an easy DD since I am "so fueled up" LOL!!! So far have just had a nectarine today and it is dinner time already. I also got really sun burned so that may cause some additional scale issues tomorrow!

Happy Juddding everyone!

TryingJUDDD. Birthdays are FDs- the scale may not know about that though!
A good DD or 2 and the scale will not remember the free day/ birthday.

Last week was really stressful, but today has been nice since about 1pm. Today is a DD and I bought some clothes that FIT! I feel ready to face the week, knowing that I have a big project waiting fo me tomorrow. Last Monday brought news that one of my dearst friends died. I had a stressful week with patients being needy/ in crisis and had to spend 1/2 an hour on the phone at 10am with a patient this morning (Sunday crisis calls... yuck!). In between was in-laws, people being inconsiderate and a meltdown on my part on Friday night. I JUDDDed along however, and have seen 159 twice so it's bound to stick really soon!

((Carly)) No wonder you had a meltdown. So sorry to hear about the death of a friend. You have been so successful and have left the 160s for sure, though. I'm glad today is a better day and wow, am I ever pleased for you that you found new clothes - the week ahead looks good.

Happy Birthday, Trying JUDDD. I think houseguests are the most difficult situation for us as we JUDDD, because we can't just think about what we need but must concentrate on the needs of these who are depending on us. Sounds like you handled everything well. If the scale needs convincing, it won't take long.

Lovely thoughts Leona, but not me. My post referred to JoyJoy's mother who didn't recognise her.

I think you may have been thinking of Linda (Barb) who's mother had that awful fall.

Sadly I lost my mother to breast cancer when I was only 18. Sad, but long, long ago now.

Oh Carly, what a nightmare week! Everyone needing you at a time you needed time to grieve.

Kristin, I am so looking forward to seeing you get shot in the head!

Me? Today is the final day of a family reunion. Twenty-seven people. Many of them consummate cooks who threw themselves into fixing everybody's favorite whatever. My clothes still fit but I do not plan to weigh until after a few DDs have passed.

Nancy, that is a really good plan!

Good morning all! How was everyone's weekend???
We had visitors from Thursday night till yesterday. We did well on our Friday DD. Really well. Yesterday was good too. It is tough when people are at your house and you simply have to feed them! Saturday we went to a water park and I felt GOOD in my swimming suit. I can honestly say it has been years since I could say that!

((((Carly)))). Sorry about the loss of your friend and your crummy week. Hope this one is much better. Yay you for that new decade!

Happy Birthday Trying JUDDD!

Nancy--good plan to postpone the scale for a couple of dd's. Glad you had a great time with family.

Zipp--good job staying on plan with company. Glad you had fun too.

TOM is working me over good this month. Up 2 pounds from my preferred weight and I can see it in my belly/midriff area. Going for a good dd today with lots of lemon water to take care of the bloat. Yesterday's Mexican lunch didn't help with all the salt.

My Grandmother is not doing well. She's 95 1/2, and has been having TIA's the past month or so. They are coming more frequently, and she's much more confused. We are so blessed that she's been active and mentally with it up until this started. The only medication she takes is a couple of tylenol daily to help with pain from her hip replacement (she had to have it redone twice because she outlived the replacement parts. LOL) But even at 95, I'm not ready to let her go. I sure don't want her to suffer though, so if this is her time, I pray it is peaceful. She's lived with my Mom for the past 30 years or so, so was there when I was in high school, and was just a huge part of my life. We just got back from a visit there, and she was very with it and laughing and having fun with us. But she's been in the hospital twice in the past 4 days, and is still there. If you could keep us all in your prayers, I'd appreciate it. Thanks. Oh, her name is Delores, but we call her Nonnie.

Yikes, dropping in to catch up! We’ve been working on remodeling projects so time has been hard to come by. Of course, just before the first big heat of the summer here in the Pacific NW, our heat pump died. I am so not used to heat -- I am retaining water big time. Oh well, it’s just water! Thankfully the weather for today is back down to “bake” from the “broil” we’ve had the past couple days.

It’s exciting that we have a movie actress JUDDDing with us! I’ll be watching for you Kristin!

Tina, it won’t be the same here without your daily words of wisdom so check in when you can.

Vanilla patience my dear, your body is holding any reserves while it heals. It will decide, and shortly most likely, that everything is okay and then it will go ahead and commence with weight loss.

Natasha: Yes you can do it and we are cheering for you!

Welcome SavLexiMom, When I started I was so afraid to eat up those calories too, but took a leap of faith and am so happy that I did. Wishing you much JUDDD magic!

Tanya, I am hoping for good things for your family very soon. You’ve got a great guy! Hugs to you!

genevievew, WOW, six pounds is fantastic! Congratulations!

[QUOTE=Kissa;15844863]…as you know, all gains are water and all losses are fat….[QUOTE]

THAT was a GREAT read today!!! Hugs to you Cindy!

Kristen, LOVED, LOVED, LOVED your three-part “gift” to us!

Whitlin, as soon as I saw your reply here I ran back to the July thread and was excited to learn that you are a quilter too. I really feel for you losing your sewing room. It sounds like it is for a very good cause. I lost mine not that long ago, for a little over a year when our daughter returned home. It was harder on her than me, however it is rough trying to make things without much space to work in. The room is mine again however at the moment we are re-flooring the house and happen to start there. We were just laying new underlayment when the heat pump went out and so everything is running behind. I’m hoping to be back in there soon! If you ever feel like a quilting weekend get on up here – there’s room!

Molly, Welcome to the group and I’m Wishing you much JUDDD magic!

TryingJudd, Happy Birthday and I hope your scale cooperated!

Carly, So very sorry to hear of the loss of your friend.

Nancy, that sounds like a wonderful reunion!

Tina, Hugs to you and Nonnie.

Heat and Stress -- Not Great for Weight Loss!

Maybe it’s just me, so I’m checking in to ask if I’m too sensitive.

Our heat pump just died, and it's been HOT. We called a three companies asking for bids to replace the system (heat pump and furnace/air handler). This should eat up about half of my kitchen remodel budget!

Two of the companies made an appointment, came out and looked at the space we need to heat/cool, our existing equipment, mechanical room, and ductwork then left to go prepare bids. Much as we expected. The remaining company, before the appointment, called with a list of questions, some of which I thought were honestly none of their business:

Are we going to be getting bids from other contractors?
Are we planning to live in the house for a long time?
Which companies have serviced our equipment in the past & were we satisified?
Are we planning to finance the purchase?
Have we been doing research on the internet?

I jokingly told hubby that it wouldn’t surprise me if they looked up our house on Google Maps and at the Tax Assessor’s office. Well, I was wrong, I was surprised. I almost fell off my chair when among the paperwork they brought was the county assessor’s tax valuation of our home. Actually, I was angry and voiced as much. I felt like we were being sized up for the kill.

So, what say you? Was I too sensitive? Do I kick this contractor to the curb on principle and choose one of the other two before the bids roll in?
